Choke it down! Food is fuel.

Humans can only live three days without water. I know some people never drink plain water, just coffee sodas and tea etc. so evidently they are getting a net amount of water from whatever they drink. the directic effect in caffeinated drinks still leaves them with a net amount of water. not the healthiest, though.

LOL! I spoon my chihuahua for warmth!

Eat smaller amounts every 2 or 3 hours. Meals=300-400 calories, snacks=100-200 calories. You are making your pancreas work overtime on such large meals which shoots out large amounts of insulin at once, probably making you initially tired and then hungry a lot sooner than need be. And try to make meals with protein ratio…

For two years I was steadily gaining. I told my doctor that I was gaining weight and needed help. I saw him every three months for other issues and each time I mentioned my weight and he said that I was just fine. Changed doctors and took blood tests. Mentioned weight gain and after looking at blood tests(possibly…

I was there, 25 pounds lost and not a peep. Now I've lost 35, still in the overweight category on the BMI scale, and now I hear, "You've lost weight! You re not going to lose anymore are you?" Can t win! Don t focus on others. Lose weight for yourself. Only a few know how to really compliment graciously. Got my first "GIRL…

I have two boys ages 10 and 12 and I jog short distances (1.5 to 3 miles) daily with them. Sometimes they ride their bike sometimes they jog, sometimes one jogs one rides his bike. On my interval days, one races me on my sprints, while the other takes a rest on the bike. Then they switch for the next sprint interval. We…

Sore for two days after squats. Gave out in pain and plopped the last 4 inches down to the toilet seat and screamed out in pain while pushing the clutch in my car. Tried not to go out of second gear! Just putted around for a couple days.

"Horseback riding" is in the MPF's EXERCISE database. It gives choices of walking, trotting etc. and gives a good idea where to start.

Buy the A/C for the exercise room. It'll probably be cheaper than paying for a gym membership. It's a small investment for a healthier you.

Bump. Great post!

I try to eat every two or three hours, make sure I get protein at each snack/meal, and eat more complex than simple carbs and I've lost 35 pounds. Benefits are keeping blood sugars level to keep down carb cravings and never getting so hungry that I make bad food choices.

Irene! Comment on Hannah: Her 'going home' dress was horrible!! She lost all the weight, but the dress did not flatter her at all and was tacky tacky.

A good balance of protein to carbs is 1 to 2. For instance, snacks can be 7g protein with 15g carbs. Meals can be 15g protein with 30g carbs. I got this info from a nutritionist.

Sure exercise in morning burns calories before your meals TODAY, but it is burning calories after you meals YESTERDAY. We eat every day and exercise everyday. Exercise is always going to be before or after some meal we've eaten. The best time to exercise is when you will do it consistently,

Plan ahead. Eat three meals and two or three snacks. Eat every two or three hours. Balance each snack/meal with lean protein and good carbs. (i.e. Snacks-7g protein & 15g carbs, Meals-15g protein & 30g carbs.) Keep snacks around 150-200 calories and meals around 300-400 calories. Drink lots of water. This is what I've done…

If your not hungry after, even the day after, such a high calorie burn (1000+), maybe you're not burning the amount of calories you think you are burning. The MATH is right about eating back the calories burned to make a net of 1200, but the SCIENCE is a bit difficult to determine. Who knows what the individual's…

To add to all of the above, get a good sweaty exercise in morning and evening. Always helps me.

I m 6 ft and the smallest I've ever been is a size 12 I think, maybe 10, but I feel I was too thin then. I think now my goal is to fit size 14.

Make sure you are getting enough good quality calories during the day. This takes planning and even packing appropriate food. Sounds crazy, but try some exercise, just 10 or 15 minutes of walking or better yet, jogging when you get home from work and that may help get your appetite in check and relieve some stress. If you…

A cup of most carbs (rice, beans, oatmeal) is around 200-300 calories, a cup beef stew or casserole is 300-400 calories. Use these numbers and look at what is in the dish to estimate how many calories a cup of the dish is.. If it has fats(oil or cheese), go to the higher end of the scale. This is what I do to estimate when…
