Is there any way for you to walk in a swimming pool? It's SO much easier on joints and your back. Go, you! :)

yeah, i hear ya. guilt can be powerful. a couple of things to consider. maybe you can turn the guilt around, and use it to motivate you next time. you're feeling pretty lousy right now. so remember that feeling, and let it help you make a different decision next time. speaking just for myself, i seem to need to relearn…

Thanks for the kind words, peeps -- means a lot. You all inspire me every day. Rock on! :)

Dang. I'm sure you're right, now that I read it. Though I'm sure BOTH had plenty of epiphanies, it was indeed the one on the road to Damascus I was thinking of. In my case, it was in the aisle at Price Chopper. :)

i use half almond milk, half water. it's mighty tasty. :)

do you have access to a pool? walking in water was one of my rehab therapies after knees surgery years ago ... it was SO much better on my joints and back. as you get more fit, i'd encourage you to give water aerobics a try, too ... it's a great cardio workout. If you can get to a gym, a recumbent bike is pretty swell,…

you are SO rockin' it, pal. beyond proud of you ... and totally inspired BY you, too. forward we go! :)

i did a groupon thing recently that included a one-hour assessment with a trainer at a local gym. my goal was to get an analysis and then some very clear direction on what exercises i should be doing now, regardless of whether or not i continue with her. it was an insanely great session. i researched the trainers at the…

in the meantime, can you work in the water at all? it can be a heckuva good workout and WAY easier on knees.

good for you (and on so many levels). rock on!

well, tracking is definitely a step in the right direction. but it's probably not the be-all, end-all solution you'd like it to be (or I'D like it to be, for that matter). :) that being said, i'm a firm believer that tracking is a *really* important step, regardless if your number for the day is near zero or not. (speaking…

Welcome to MFP, the best thing EVER for folks like us who want to change for the healthy. :) Sounds like we have a few things in common. Want a friend along for the journey? Feel free to add me. I'm working on my 11th month on MFP and it has changed my life in ways I can't even begin to tell you. I'd wish you luck, but you…

I drink a lotta water too ... usually between 14-18 8 oz. glasses a day. Happy to report there are no signs of gills as yet. :) The key for me is to keep a bottle within arm's length pretty much all the time. I recycle bottles and always have 10-12 of filtered tap water chilling in the fridge at any given time. Works for…

best. attitude. ever. well done!

Had to scoot the seat in my car forward for, like, the first time ever. And there's loads of room in the seatbelt now. Those are lovely. :)

hear ya. you're spot on: tomorrow's a bright new day. i encourage you to forgive yourself for this one ... but also to learn from it. speaking for myself, remembering how i feel after a binge is a heck of a good deterrent next time stoopid temptations roll around. also ... for what it's worth, i'm convinced discipline gets…

well done! i hit my halfway point this weekend, too... feels good, huh? :) congrats! forward we go.

Yeah, put me in with the Lee Child fan clubbers. Every one of his books is insanely great. I also like the Butch Karp series by Robert Tannenbaum and Daniel Silva's series featuring Gabriel Allon. Michael Connolley rocks, and although I'm not a huge fan of scary stuff, I really like the three (or four, maybe) books…

made me a little teary, too ... but in a really good, proud of you sorta way. good for you. :)

argh ... people can be such poopyheads sometimes. i hear the pain in your voice. it's okay to be down for a while. so go ahead; get it out of your system. ok, done? ;) kidding aside, i'm so *not* making light of where you are right this minute. i've been where you are, pal, and it's suckage with a capital S. but you can SO…

ok, pal -- deep breath. now take another one. and again. now ... you know what you need to do, right? (trick question; you've already done it.) :) so get up, dust yourself off, and start changing what and how you're thinking. what's done is done; can't change that, right? but you CAN absolutely change what you do next. so…
