Hi hilts. I have just run it through MFP less the herbs a come out with 2507 to serve 6 so 417 a portion. Which is over the 341 they claim but not as hugely over as your calculation. Are you sure you have entered the amounts correctly. In each category (ie tomatoes) there will be a range of different measurements for each…

I haven't tried this recipe yet bilts but I have cooked a number from both books and found none especially accurate (the first book is particularly bad) I would take it as a recipe "guide" (ie nick the good ideas like bulking out carbs with veg, using spices to add interest, baking rather than frying, etc) but I'd take the…

^ zombieyoshi if you are trying to do lasagne without pasta then leeks work well too. Top and tail then cut once down the middle. That will leave you with sheets of leak. Steam for a minute to give flexibility then use them as layers between protein. Sounds like you made a non pasta Mousaka

This is a favorite of mine. I have literally just finished eating my lunch. I would post a picture but it doesn't look very exciting as I have to small dice everything atm to aid digestion :( Easier to link to the article than copy it out: http://www.deliciousmagazine.co.uk/recipes/lamb-caponata-topped-with-crispy-potatoes…

Something I found when I lost weight before was because of the restrictive diet I was eating (with as little salt, sugar and fat as possible) food that I would have normally considered boring kinda rocked my world eg my treat was a plain digestive biscuit with a glass of semi-skimmed milk and I was getting the kind of…

Ahhh the classics  Agree about the lobster. Stick it in a surf and turf instead! In the UK McD's they did onion rings for a while and they were so deliciously deadly.

I think there's a gender element here. On the whole women are far more critical of their appearance then men. Quite an interesting article about the way some women perceive themselves when using a silhouette test (sorry for the awful publication its in!)…

For a shoe-gazing indie kid a couple of lines from Indie Disco by Divine Comedy. "And now we're moving to the beat And staring at each others feet" "She makes my heart beat the same way As at the start of Blue Monday" I went to a concert of theirs years ago and they did a cover of "careless whisper" as the closer. Kinda,…

When my friend lost weight she spent the excess money she used to waste on rubbish food / going out to eat every week on food packages instead which were then distributed at the weekend by a local charity. Ultimately she met her boyfriend (now husband) at that charity so I think she'd say that was a good reward all round!…

In the UK fruit salads are delicious little sweets (as well as obviously being salads made of fruit!)

^ Phil Jupitus cut in front of me at a petrol station in East Finchley in his big silver Merc some years ago :( Until about 6 months ago every other time I went into M&S (a supermarket) in Temple Fortune I seemed to see Liam Gallagher and Nicole Appleton. I guess even rockstars have to do the shopping with their wives?…

Awwwwwww  That's really lovely. I've been called "Bear" since I was very small. I've kept enough of my friends (and family!) that it's been a continuous thing. A nice girl I met once whilst out with friends asked me what it was short for ... The "essentials" just because my life is about getting rid of all…
