I've got quite the sweet tooth and I've given up sugary treats for 3 weeks now. Is it good to reward yourself with something you shouldn't eat? I'm assuming that by not rewarding yourself you will lose weight faster? Is it just a matter of how bad you want to lose weight?

if it fits your calories, then eat it. Eating sugary foods =/= no progress.
ps- I eat Klondikes almost every night and see below.

I agree, if it fits into your calorie goals, go for it.
I also have ice cream every night!0 -
I think it depends on your personality as well, can you enjoy a treat on, say, Saturday, and then get back to it? Or will one turn into three turn into four every night?0

I've been doing some reading recently that makes me think I should eat at maintenance cals every once in a while. I'm going to experiment with that and if, on those days, I have cals for a treat, I will indulge0

I have a snack every night. I either adjust my calories or exercise more to fit it in.0

There's really no such things as "foods I shouldn't eat." There are definitely foods that I should be making sure I eat to meat my body's nutritional demands...but ultimately, there aren't any foods that I shouldn't eat. I eat sweets...they aren't a substantial part of my diet anymore...but I still eat them. I usually save it for after dinner; I love eating jelly beans in bed while I'm reading...sometimes gummy worms.
The key is just to get your nutrition on and get your fitness on and fit it into your calorie goal. I lost a good 40 Lbs without depriving myself of anything and I'm maintaining doing the same.0 -
Something I found when I lost weight before was because of the restrictive diet I was eating (with as little salt, sugar and fat as possible) food that I would have normally considered boring kinda rocked my world eg my treat was a plain digestive biscuit with a glass of semi-skimmed milk and I was getting the kind of sweet, salty, rich hit off it that I would have previously got from something smothered in chocolate. After 3 weeks you may well find the same.0
