My most recent was laying the bike down coming around a corner - didn't see the rock hiding in the pile of grass clippings and hit it at the perfect angle to sweep the front wheel out from under the bike - lost some skin on my elbow and shins/knees and had a sore wrist for awhile. Glad I had gloves on or I would have…

It's funny you say this.... most of the canned pumpkin pie filling that you can get at the store (at least last year), was butternut squash because there wss a pumpkin shortage.

9/10: Extra post today... I have been averaging about 13.4 mph on the bike so far this season, which is a pretty good average for a hybrid bike... but I have had this voice in my head telling me that I am riding too slow and that I was riding faster and better last year (you know how those voices can get). So, I pulled up…

There's something about the gumbo mixture that prevents the okra from getting slimy... I don't know what it is, but I have never had a gumbo that had slimy okra in it.

Yes, calories still count even when doing IF or any other diet. I naturally eat in an 8 hour window from noon to 8 pm, and I got fat eating that way because I was eating more calories than I needed to eat. As an aside, somatotypes (like endomorph) are scientifically meaningless. Eating many small meals in a day will not…

The scale knows that you want it to move and it's being contrarian (as scales are wont to do)! Give it time, it will grow tired of its foolish games and it will change!

okra should only be served 1 of 2 ways -> battered and fried or in gumbo.

9/9: Tuesday's ride was 15.95 miles @ 13.3 mph average. I did manage to get in 100 push-ups (4 sets of 25) so the day wasn't a complete bust for exercise. Food was ok,…

No bike ride this morning, had a business meeting at the crack of dawn (hate when work gets in the way of my fun!). Will be getting on the spin bike later - it's raining so no outdoor rides now. Did 60 (15x4 sets) slow push-ups yesterday in addition to the morning ride... I define slow push-ups as taking 1-2 seconds to…

Ok... I have been on the fence about joining, but i keep ending up back here looking at this thread... so, here I am. Sept goals - 350 miles on the bike, 100+ grams of protein a day, 150 or less grams of carbs (net) per day, 10 lbs of weight lost for the month. I know that 150 grams of carbs seems high, but I am riding my…

For any meat that has the bone in, I weigh the portion before eating, eat what I want and then weigh what is left (bone, gristle, etc). That will give you the amount that you actually consumed. And yes, my wife thinks I'm crazy for doing it, but she cannot argue with the results (60 lbs down and still going).

Sept 3: Rode 16.26 miles this morning. Did 50 push-ups after yesterday's ride, will do some thru the day today. Food was on point - protein at 104g, carbs at 156g net. The added carbs did not help with this morning's ride, so the other limiting factor would be the humidity... it has been running between 75% and 82% for the…
