  • What 'toxins' are you afraid of ingesting? I mean I wouldn't go drink/eat poison but I'm curious what 'toxins' you are thinking of. As for water, there are many ways of ingesting water that don't eat the enamel from your teeth the way lemons might and don't add empty calories like the honey would.
  • I eat chocolate every day, just don't go overboard with it

  • Blasphemy!!!!! j/k... my wife is Mexican and if I were to bring something like this into the house she would beat me with the can! :) The other suggestions look really good and the better half has used several of those. The 'yogurt/Dijon/lemon juice/little olive oil' is also great for tuna salad.
  • It is your choice and your budget, but there is no scientific justification for avoiding GMO's or for eating organic produce.
  • I don't know where you are getting your info from but please stop because it's silly and it's wrong: 1. As long as you are eating fewer calories than you are burning, you will lose weight - regardless of what foods those calories come from. It is physiologically impossible for the body to 'hold on to fat when you are in a…

  • I don't think I have pre-logged a single meal... I always log as I go. Breakfast depends on my better half and daughter so that's always up in the air. The better half works evening shift, so dinner is usually what ever is in the fridge that I feel like making for myself and the kid. We grocery shop on the weekends,…
  • I gave up chips for Lent this year - I used to eat them every day... since Easter, I have had chips twice... figured out that I was eating them more out of habit than a desire to have chips. For my afternoon snack I now have a handful of cashews or some plain greek yogurt with fresh fruit. Better tasting and better for me.
  • As long as fat levels are reasonable things will move along without issues. I have done carnivore in the past and my bathroom schedules were exactly the same as before going carnivore.
  • The 'keto flu' is simply a flushing of extra electrolytes (salt, magnesium, potassium, etc.) with the water - up your salt intake and it should alleviate the issue. When salt gets flushed with the water, the body also flushes potassium and magnesium specifically to maintain a balance. If you up the salt intake, the other…
  • The oxalates come mostly from spinach, berries and milk chocolate :open_mouth: (at least in the American diet)
  • The best time for a workout is when you can fit it into your schedule... other than that it is a purely individual choice. Some folks like to start the day with exercise which is the best time for me. Some other folks like to finish the day with exercise. For me, if I don't exercise in the morning, I will always find…
  • It's usually done by capturing a link to the thread and asking one of the mods to delete it for you.
  • Just like you can't spot reduce fat (w/o surgery), you also cannot spot increase without surgery (with the exception of muscle mass).
  • yes, unless you 'bank' extra calories for the weekend by eating lower on 1 or more weekdays.

  • why do you need that much protein?
  • Safe in terms of what? Also, I would check your entry for cottage cheese - most of the ones I looked at had closer to 400 calories...
  • Human bodies don't work this way... it takes a certain number of calories per day just to stay alive, not to mention powering anything you do beyond the scope of staying alive. If a person does not eat the number of calories needed to power the daily calorie expenditure, the body will ALWAYS make up the difference from…
  • Not in this app... the calorie goal set by the app does not include deliberate exercise.
  • Probably so... The other issue with going to one of the 'unsubscribe' pages is that the spammers collect the email addresses from those sites - by doing the unsubscribe you are verifying that the email went to a 'good' email address that someone cares about. The emails are collected and sold to both legit and non-legit…
  • The types of foods you eat can increase satiety and help you stick with your deficit, but healthy foods do not burn more fat than 'unhealthy' foods. It is actually the foods that you don't eat - your deficit - that determines how much and how fast you lose weight. Everything you say after that is true.
  • Protein causes an insulin release also, did you know that? The spike for protein is not as dramatic as carbs, but it still happens. Why three meals a day? Do you have any science to back that up? A lot of folks on this site have successfully lost weight and maintained their weight eating less often (and more often) than…
  • Post of the day!!
  • You still need to track calories when doing IF... I naturally do IF simply because I am almost never hungry in the morning. I have maintained, gained and lost weight eating this way.
  • jeez... didn't even notice the pp had resurrected a zombie....
  • You might not be able to, but it isn't universally true. If I try to do workouts or sports with anything more than water or coffee in my stomach I will end up in the bathroom puking. Having tried multiple times with different foods, I just avoid the issue by working out and then eating afterwards.
  • We used a dna test to pinpoint the area of Mexico where my wife's mother's family is most likely from. My wife, it turns out, is descended from one of the native Mexican tribes that never intermingled with the Europeans.
  • First... what is your timeframe for losing the weight? Second, what is your starting point, i.e. what is your current weight?
