Okay, so one person had a bad reaction... it does not mean that reaction can be extrapolated to rest of the general population - esp. given the vast numbers of routine users.

No it isn't... veggies have sugar, fruit has sugar, milk has sugar... ever see someone in a back alley trying to buy their next 'hit' of sugar???
-
Actually it's not any better nutritionally than the 'regular' foods...
-
To add to this, creatine also pushes more water into the muscles (on top of the extra water for repairs).

Take yourself to the woodshed and... j/k... j/k... j/k 😕:) You don't need to go any further, we are close enough on the explanation for it not to matter!

Ok, let try again... In your original statement you made the following claims: 1. The body prefers complex carbohydrates 2. Simple carbs (like sugar) just get shuttled off to fat storage as soon as you eat them Neither of these statements are correct, even from a bird's eye view of the body and how it functions. The body…
-
No and no... all carbs (excluding the fiber that comes along with the fruits, grains, veggies, etc) - complex or simple are broken down into glucose by the body. Glucose is about as simple a carb as it gets and is the only usable form of sugar (carbs) that the body recognizes. As for the original question, carbs only cause…

If the latte has calories, it breaks your fast. What are you hoping to accomplish with the fast (hint there is nothing magical about IF - it's just another way to control your eating)?

Water... I can get better coffee at lesser prices almost any where else... :)

Gotta agree with this - trolls suck! I made mine private after the last message I got that said you can't lose weight if you eat that much 'x'... which was one of the nicer comments... and I'm not even an herbivore... I am fairly monogamous in my eating habits and I have gotten some trolling remarks about that as well.…

Without changing your eating habit, exogenous ketones will not put your body into ketosis. You can drink the ketones and all it will do is provide more energy (calories) for your body to burn. There is a belief in the keto community that there are different degrees of ketosis and that drinking the exogenous ketones will…

I use J-labs with an around-the-ear hook. They have an 'aware' mode that I use when I am riding so I can still hear cars/people/etc that are around me. Power lasts for a long time and they recharge very quickly.

Until you can define what constitutes 'processing', neither do you... here's a hint 'unprocessed > processed' is not even close to a universal truth.

If these are new exercise routines (for you), you could easily gain 4 lbs of water weight as a result. New exercises work different muscles and the body retains water to help heal any damage (micro-tears occur as part of stressing/developing/working muscles - it's normal and nothing to worry about) and a 4 pound gain for a…

As a crutch for what? What do you believe is the downside of drinking the diet (zero calorie) sodas?

OP, you can eat anything that you would have eaten on a non-fasting day as long as you stay within your calorie goals. There is nothing magical about IF - it is simply a tool to help you stay under your calorie target. To give you a more direct answer, you need to provide more info - like height, weight, how much you want…

No, bread is not bad, unless you are eating so much of it that you are missing out on nutrition in the rest of your diet. Also, just a simple fact, ALL carbs (fruits, veggies, starches, etc) are ultimately broken down into sugar to be used by the body - that is the definition of a 'carb'.

You also might not want ot be in such a hurry to try and induce autophagy... https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/autophagy From the article linked above: "Autophagy itself is not always positive. StudiesTrusted Source have shown that excessive autophagy may kill cells in the heart, and scientists have linked…

Let me be the first to congratulate you @Thewonderofitall for reaching autophagy!!! Oh, and congrats to every other person who lives on the planet, because they have 'reached' autophagy as well!! First off, let's define our terms... Autophagy -> the process that the body goes thru to cleanup dead and dying cells (nothing…

But EXCESS carbs are not the biggest contributors to insulin resistance - the two biggest contributors to insulin resistance are: "Acquired causes of insulin resistance Acquired causes, meaning you’re not born with the cause, of insulin resistance include: Excess body fat: Scientists believe obesity, especially excess fat…

Couple of points where I disagree with this... 1. the snack would only be unhealthy if it is pushing out needed nutrients (not calories) 2. your body will not starve from missing 1 meal (nor will it harm your metabolism)... you would not be 'starving' from missing the meal... you might be hungry, but that is a mental…

If your coach's instructions don't make sense to you, then you need to get the coach to clarify the instructions... you are paying them to help you and obviously these instructions are not helping.

No, it won't.

First thing GravesLord - congrats on finding a way to lose the weight and for actually losing it! Now, to address some of the things you said: This is commonly called intuitive eating and it can/does work for some people, for others it is a total disaster (me for example - I stopped listening to my body when I reached 280+…

Better for what?

As said above, the 140/80 is a one-off reading and is pretty meaningless. You really need several readings in a row to establish a pattern for HBP (and if your Dr is giving you grief over the one reading, the Dr is an *kitten*). Also, stress is a major contributing factor to HBP (and you seem to be having a certain amount…

Basic rule of thumb for weight loss supplements: If it works, it's not legal... if it's legal, it doesn't work.

I go for quinoa or tofu when looking for a plant-based protein. You could also go mix/match if you want to - an example would be red beans (kidney beans) with rice provides a complete protein (and when mixed with the right amount of hot sauce is terrific!).
-
Actually, protein has the same number of calories per gram as carbs do - both have 4 calories per gram. Fat is the highest at 9 calories per gram.
