Um, kind of a big loss.

That is the best feeling, man. Savor it and use it as more fuel for your efforts. Great work!

BTL - I literally feel your pain, but probably not as bad. I did the same thing on the corner of my bathtub on Monday morning (3 hours sleep for the previous weekend). I was fortunate enough to be able to still go walking that morning, but my foot is still not 100%. Good on you for getting back in the saddle! dward - Keep…

When I first started this lifestyle change at the beginning of July, I was wearing a size 50 pants. They were a bit loose, but size 48 was too tight. Today, I tried on an old pair of size 44 jeans that I hadn't been able to wear since last year. THEY FIT AGAIN! Fat loss FTW!

I'm moving into some daunting territory (for me) in my workouts. Today was 150 lb on the overhead press. I saw this thread before my evening workout, and I wasn't quite sure if I could make 3 sets of 5, but it was my goal. Achievement unlocked. Next stop: 200 lb press.

^^ Mental game LEVEL UP!

If I'm at work, I do pushups or take a walk. If I'm home, I do pushups or eat. Mostly pushups.

Awesome, Holly! The mental aspect of this is so crucial. Good on you!

On strength days (M/W/F), I get up at 4:30 am to do fasted walking before everyone wakes up, and then I lift in the evening after the kids have gone to bed. On conditioning days (T/Th/Sa), I get up at 5:00 am to run, row, etc. On Sundays, I get up at 6:00 am to do fasted walking. Basically, I train outside of family time.

September SW: 324.8 lb September GW: 314 lb Weigh-ins: Week 1: 09/02/2013 - 324.4 lb Week 2: 09/10/2013 - 321.6 lb Week 3: 09/18/2013 - ? Week 4: 09/25/2013 - ? Final: 10/01/2013 - ? Decided to shift my weekly weigh-ins from Mondays to Wednesdays. The volatility from the weekend is usually settled down by then. Also, since…

Did my Couch to 5k training run today, and all of the apps played together nicely. I think I might be a bit addicted to this app. Had it on during my training run this morning, and then again during an evening stroll with the family. In the past two days, I've raised $1.50 for cancer research, which I think equates to…

Heavy things lifted last night - Press (147.5 lb) - Chin-ups (me minus ~65 lb) - Squat (315 lb) Three plates for reps, in the books! Base camp for 405.

Hi, my name is Mike, but most folks call me Givens. I've been a member for about 4 weeks. Does that still count as new? Husband, father, software architect and general tinkerer. Proponent of the "Eat, Move, and Lift Heavy" school of thought for weight loss and life in general. This group is awesome.

Milestone: finally made it to 3 plates (315 lb) for 3 x 5 on my squat tonight. I consider it base camp for climbing the mountain to my 400-pound squat. Does it still count as an NSV, even though it's weight-related?

Challenge complete! 20 grams under on sugar today. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with eating lots of delicious meat. Would have been under for sodium too were it not for my super-salty chicken breast cuts (1,140 mg!) on my breakfast salad. Last day for those. Going to be cooking them myself from now on, starting…

Every morning, home or away (travel scale).

Tried it out this morning (I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus), and it seemed to work pretty well. There was a slight discrepancy in mileage between the Charity Miles app and my Google My Tracks app, but they seemed to co-exist OK. I logged 2.517 miles and raised $0.629 for cancer research. What will be interesting is tomorrow…

Looking forward to it, CC. Thanks!

I've got a couple: sodium and sugar. Going to work on keeping sugar down today. Challenge accepted.

Did my pushups and my pacing. Didn't seem to help the defense much though. *lightbulb* New-found inspiration for getting fit: the Ravens need a shut-down corner.
-
I really should, or just stop drinking when I'm near a computer.

Dumb reason? Are you kidding? That is a great reason! That t-shirt is an anchor to a point in your life where you had accomplished something major. My question is why is it in the bottom of a drawer? Pull it out, look at it every day, and remember how good you felt when you wore it. Then, go kick that day's butt!

Watched the vid. Cleaning water off of my screen now. Thanks, Mark!

Downloaded. Will try it out tomorrow morning. - givens

I'll be on the other side of the field, cheering on my Baltimore Ravens. Pushups during commercials, and pacing during the game. Let's go!

Thanks for filling in the info on where to find the book, Dan. One of the things that I like about the trend stuff is that you don't need a fancy spreadsheet to figure it out; it can be done with paper, pencil, and a calculator if necessary. With that said, the analysis part of it has been an immensely helpful tool for me.…

@Cary - I just had the same thing happen this morning. New, old shirts! Hooray for us! @Jess - Way to put in that extra effort! Keep shaking it! @Mark - AWESOME! Now remember, if you're going to become a mountain man, you gotta have a profile pic with your mountain-man beard! Winter is coming.

What? I get to eat *more*? Challenge accepted!

Indeed, sir. I checked out your exercise log, and it looks good. Glad you got the go-ahead to start lifting again. Heavy things lifted tonight: - Bench Press (192.5 lb) - Barbell Drag Curls (72.5 lb) - Sumo Deadlift (320 lb)
