Put the tin foil hats away and just focus on tracking your food and exercising. People get caught up in this nonsense as a way to creatively avoid doing the hard work.

Everything is chemicals. What do people mean when they say "I don't like chemicals in my food"? I might be splitting hairs over language here but seriously, what are people saying when they say the word 'chemicals' these days? Do they believe that the 'chemicals' in margarine are the same 'chemicals' that are in floor…

Done!

With any food that you are considering eating here's the check list: * Are you allergic or will the food adversely affect your health e.g. you are diabetic? * Did the doctor tell you not to eat it? * Will eating it mess up your calorie/macro goals? * Do you like the way it tastes? Anything else is hyperbole.

Kudos mate! This is going into my inspiration folder!

RE: scripted comebacks, I actually think having a generic, forceful comeback 'in the chamber', ready to fire is a good thing. A good and quick "f*** off" or "shut up" right after someone says something dumb is a good start.

Steph you're a pretty girl and you look good right now (not just saying that). Just keep going until you get to where *you* want to be. People are dip ****s. I understand how it would get you down. I'd feel the same way although these days I'm more inclined to swear at people for not keeping their stupid little mouths…

Feel free to add me!

I am the same way. The minute I don't log something it snowballs.
-
I'm a binger but not a purger. I agree that logging religously will help. My suggestion is to set your calorie goal to zero and don't try to hit a calorie goal at all; just log. Just log, even when you binge. Do that for a month. After a month you can then set a calorie goal.

I'm in Australia and we use the metric system and it's great, but switching to metric won't solve that problem. Imperial is not an in-exact system. The issue is with the tolerances in the factories that produce the food.

Just yell at people. I do and it feels a lot better than taking it on the chin and smiling. Everyone has they're own little opinions and gripes. They can go f-themselves for all I care. I do what works and I am going where I want to go. I'd be tempted to rub the miscarriage in that person's face and make them feel…

I know whenever I reach a certain point MFP will tell me I should recalculate my targets.

Get into it!

*all right

HAH! I totally missed the "what's the deal"

I aim for 500 calories or less for Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner but Dinner tends to be more than that because it's at the end of the day and I've usually 'saved up' calories for it. If I had saved up 750-1000 calories I'd go the seafood risotto or a pizza. If I only had 500 calories or less I'd go the steak, salmon or roasted…

Don't worry too much about the goals MFP sets for macros. Do your own research and set them manually. I've heard several different ratios for body weight to protein intake. I know it's meant to be LEAN body weight (body weight minus body fat) so you might have to estimate his body fat percentage. I've always heard it's…

Make sure you get enough carbs! I wouldn't recommend cutting carbs to extreme low levels unless your have issues like diabetes and your doctor is telling you to! I think 'carbs' get a bad rap because foods like rice, bread and pasta are more 'calorie dense' than you think. It's easy to eat a bowl of pasta and not think…

I had a conversation years ago with a man who had just read 'Sweet Poison'. I kept referring to sugar as a carb and he kept saying that he's talking about sugar, not carbs. Maybe he was against high GI sugars ...pff who knows with these exclusion dieters.

Whether people are genetically or otherwise predisposed to be thinner, bigger, stronger or weaker has no relevance to YOU and your journey. In fact, scratch that, it does have relevance. If I am predisposed to be fat then I can to be extra vigilant of my eating and exercise habits. Being naturally fat doesn't excuse me…

I went fishing one night at the pier. It's a popular pier and I was a fool to think I'd get some solitude there. A middle aged woman came up to me and asked "Do you have a heavy sinker? I heard you need a heavy sinker to fish here". Her heart was in the right place but really, what did she think she was doing? Some people…

I like butter but because it's hard to spread and it's fairly calorie-dense I use margarine. Yes, margarine. There is nothing wrong with it. COME AT ME!
-
+1 for move on. What's he doing getting engaged with someone when she doesn't "get him". I suspect he just wants some new booty and is telling you what you want to hear.

Macros are Macros

Steamed broccoli, snow peas, mushroom, round beans, sometimes potato if I have the calorie allowance for it and a grilled meat like chicken breast, lean beef or kangaroo. Sometimes I'll have a salad and tuna wrap to make things different. I work from home so it's a bit easier to prepare the meals. Though when I worked in…

Personally I wouldn't try to compensate for it on subsequent days. Just stick to the goal and don't let the inevitable trip ups derail you entirely. It's ok to trip up. Don't blow the rest of the day or week because of one.

Usually it's the tight feeling of my belt around my waist but the very first thing that made me decide to do this right back in 2011 was when I'd get cramps in my back when wiping after a number 2. TMI I know but it was embarrassing knowing I couldn't do what everyone else does without needing to reach and strain!
