God damn look at that figure!

It is more likely that he's not aware that the amount that he's eating is the problem. Very few people have bona fide medical issues that make it difficult to lose fat. Not knowing about nutrition doesn't make him lazy; he just doesn't know. He was never informed. Worse, there's so much crap information available that he…

Dude you're 21. You're so young. At this point in your life if you get a bad sense about a boy just leave and move on. It doesn't sound as though you're really into him anyway. Unless you're a practising Christian (like, obeying the rules) then it's odd that you haven't been intimate with him. 90% of relationships are…

Take a look at my diary. Every morning I have scrambled eggs - 4 whites, 2 whole. Chicken breast for lunch and whatever for dinner. RE: using lean body mass in the calculation - I think the 1g per lbs rule is for your weight in muscle, bone and organs. You probably don't need 1g of protein per lbs of fat on your body.

Go watch a documentary "I want to look like that guy". A guy in his 40's got down to body building show condition in 6 months.

Yep. Broke 100kg on Wednesday.

And this article which refutes your study: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3198517/

OH MY GOD think of the toxins!!! Ask your naturopath or psychic how bad it is! Yes, I'm being sarcastic.

LOL just tell him you just ate an entire tub of 'gluten'. Or ask him whether cavemen really had the ability to cure bacon. I just tell him to get ****ed :)

Awesome work!!

It's amazing how much difference just 10lbs makes! Looking good! (not to say 10lbs isn't a good effort for the time!)

Was he being sarcastic?

Raw Oysters. Dude ...

Exercising regularly will stoke the flames. How do you know you have a low BMR? Have you had it tested?

Can't save everyone.

Every day for me. I don't mind the fluctuations as long as my Monday check ins are going down each week. I should try weekly weigh ins again but I find that if I don't see a number each day then I have no anchor point each day.

Pffff @ 'failure'. You say it like it's a bad thing. We all 'fail' but we ALL succeed in the end. You will succeed, don't sweat it. You're recovering from an injury so sure, it's hard but just remember that weight loss is mostly nutrition. Even if you can't do any exercise (let's just assume you can't for sake of argument)…

Not wanting to be bulky is an invalid argument. Even if you did gain fast enough to notice you would just stop lifting for a week or two (or just stop progressive loading) when you got 'too bulk'.

The reason Joe Cross juiced his food was because: 1. He had a disease that he believed was caused by a lack of certain micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) 2. He had to eat a stack of fruit and vegetables to get these micronutrients 3. He decided that it was easier to juice the fruit and veg and drink it. It was too much…

Good work mate!

The only time you can do anything is RIGHT NOW. Not tomorrow, not next week, not "when I get motivated", right now. Don't think about how the hell you're going to stick to this in a week or month or year. Just worry about the next 'no' you're going to say to cake, ice-cream, buffet or booze. The past is of no concern. The…

I started with an empty bar and added 2.5kg each session :)

+1 The reason your tissue is holding on to water is because you have lots of sodium (salt) in your body. Drinking a lot of water reduces the sodium ratio and therefore makes your body get rid of the water it's retaining. You'll pee a lot.
-
Yeah, I think we already got it, thanks.

Oh here's a funny thing someone said me once. I was trying to lose weight 10 years ago and a female friend of mine (she was a bit of an air head) said to me "Don't drink too much water; every litre of water is one kilo of weight!" WOW
-
No worries hun. I believe that lifting weights increases bone density and in turn means stronger bones and less problems later on in life.
-
Mmm well I can understand not doing weights at first just to make things simple and ease you into a routine gradually. But honestly, lifting weights won't make you gain *that* much mass and the mass that you do gain will be lean tissue (muscle, bone, strong organ tissue). All this extra lean tissue will need energy to…
