How are you measuring workout calories? I know that mine are only an educated guess (I really need to invest in a Fitbit!) so I try to only eat half of them back.

Yes, pretty normal if you aren't eating at a deficit. That's what will make you lose weight. You are adding muscle to your body without losing fat so to me it makes sense that you've gained weight. Also, I never pay attention to the scales on the day of and after a workout. When your muscles are recovering, they hold water…

I took voluntary redundancy just under 2 months ago and decided to take 3 months off before looking for employment again. I was a recruitment manager for a chain of restaurants. Although I was always busy and worked long hours, my job involved either sitting at a desk, sitting in meetings or sitting in my car for hours on…

Thanks all! I am back on the wagon and going at it with 100% of what I have again..1lb down, these last 3 WILL NOT beat me! I go on holiday on Friday, in 4 days and I'm gone for 10 days so back on 24th. I've given myself a target of losing another 1lb by 28th. ( I know I might mess up on holiday so setting this…

When you eat out, most chain restaurants have nutritional info somewhere so take it from there. It's normally pretty accurate as they have portion sizes/specs that they have to stick to in order to make the projected profit. I hate having to weigh everything so when I can, I'll pre portion or eat things that are sold per…

I'm 5ft 1 and weigh 119lbs. 2 months ago I weighed 130lbs. I've not found it too difficult to lose that but now I'm down to my last 4lbs I'm finding it much harder. It's what we call 'vanity pounds' which seem to be harder to lose. I'm eating 1200cals a day and eat half my exercise calories back. I've just upped my…

Same problem here! :( my personal trainer has assured me that it will come off but it will be the last thing to go. The first places I put on weight way back when, was my tummy, then my arms, then my face, then my legs and bum. I have lost the weight in the reverse order eg-my bum and legs went first, then my face slimmed…

I'd scrawl the web for any calorie info on T25 and see if they can shed any light on it. I do Powerwave and found a FAQ's section on their website that told me it can vary from 300-700 cals so I kinda guessed mine at 400cals and I only log it as 300 if I feel like I slacked a bit that day. I rarely eat back all my exercise…

Thanks guys, I feel a bit clearer on it now and will probably start logging the big jobs now

Capaul42 that's was my thinking...that everyday activities such as those you mentioned but as I'm off work for a few months I'm having a big clear out and doing 'big jobs' everyday so if I spent a day moving around furniture in my sons room, organising their many toy boxes and scrubbing the carpets then went and did some…

I log every time I lose 2lbs so at the start of my weight loss I was logging every Monday morning like you but now the weight loss has slowed down a little, I probably end up logging every 2 weeks or so. I stopped weighing myself every day for a few weeks too but now I'm nearing maintenance and focusing more on exercise…

People are ignorant! I was at my exercise class (it's a class that is basically strength training). Anyway most of us are there to lose weight and one girl is there to gain and bulk up. She's very small and very pretty but wants more curves so is working on it. At her first class I saw some of the others make snide…

Can you think of anything you enjoy doing that doesn't cost money and isn't eating? I don't use my rewards as a weight loss reward, just a way to relax and treat myself. Because this was my biggest issue with weight gain...I loved to binge watch tv and eat junk...so now my 'me time' is spent doing other things I enjoy-a…

Pushing dinner time back to 7.30-8pm really helped me with my evening cravings! I do now get them at 3pm though :( but I do find it easier to ignore them as I'm normally busy at that time rather than at night being sat in front of the tv or lying in bed thinking about chocolate! Saving calories for the evening snack is…

Haha you know what I mean! Is it just a uk thing to call cola that isn't diet 'fat coke'? Or maybe just a me thing?

That's so strange...that wasn't my whole post! Lol. I continued with where I've been in US and why I gained weight on that vacation and that when I go to Ibiza with the girls I normally lose weight due to lots of dancing and walking and very little eating. I'm going on holiday next week but I know it will be an active one…

I switched to Pepsi max from full fat cola about a year ago. After a few weeks, my OH and I were out for a meal and said 'ooh shall we have full fat cola as a treat?' We both couldn't drink it because it was sooo sweet. Other than water or tea, I don't drink anything else now. Pepsi max rules!!! :D

I'm always getting told I eat to slow. It's not done for weight loss purposes but that's just the way j like to eat. I want to enjoy it so take my time. And if I'm honest, I think i may have some sort of complex about how I look when I eat. Someone catching me shovelling it all in would mortify me so I take small bites or…

I guess it depends on what type of vacation for me. I live in the uk and I've found that when I go to the US, I gain a lot of weight

Wow...the exact same thing happened to me! I lost 3lbs by just changing a few things then started logging on MFP and lost 6lbs easy. Took a few days out as we were away for a family wedding. I didn't go crazy and only put on 2lb which I lost in a day or 2... then BOOM! Nothing :( then about 5 days later, my T.O.M came. It…

I was one of those people who was guilty of 'comfort eating'. I had a very stressful job that I wasn't happy in so would 'relax' on my day off by catching up on my to that I didn't get to watch all week with tons of junk food!! but it wasn't the sole reason for my weight gain. These were some others: 1) I worked in…

Everyday is different for me so I look at my week and plan ahead when I will be able to workout. Luckily my workout of choice is only a 20 minute class/session so I can easily fit it in (Powerwave-if anyone's interested) For example I know I'm always free Monday nights so I always book myself on a class and hubbys home on…

I don't have much advice for you re keeping the weight off apart from eating less but as a fellow back pain sufferer, I find swimming a good exercise for when my back is out and it's something I can do with my kids. If I take another adult with me, we take it in turns to play with the kids while the other does a few…

My 'cheat day' is normally on a Sunday. I'll eat at maintenance so I don't overdo it. This normally means I get to eat out with my family on that day and as its our 'family day' I'm either running around after the kids or our plans involve something quite active. For example last Sunday, I had a lie in so skipped…

Abs are made in the kitchen. Lots of sugar and carbs will stick to that tummy no matter how many planks you do. As others have said, you can't just lose weight around your tummy so will have to lose weight overall and stay away from sweet stuff. I've been dieting and working out for 5 weeks now and my muffin top has pretty…

31year old here :) I couldn't think of anything worse than working out with my OH! Here's my weight loss story....I was always one of those annoying girls who could what the hell I wanted a stay a size 6 (uk size) but then I had babies and it got a little harder to live on burgers and cake and stay slim ;) Then I got…

I've lost 11lbs in 6 weeks. 3lbs in week one, then a steady 1-2lbs(ish) per week after that but I've plateaued this last week :( so frustrating when I'm only 3lbs off my goal!!! I've done it with 3 workouts per week, 1200cals a day, low carb, high fat and protien meals. Only one small sweet treat per day-find that one the…

Not sure if anyone has heard of/does Powerwave? I have fallen in love with it! 20 minutes of Powerwave will burn anywhere between 400-700 calories and is equivalent to 2 hours in the gym. Sometimes I want to throw up afterwards but to me, that means I've killed it. As its only 20 minutes, I find it easier to push myself…

How long have you been feeling tired for? Could it be that time of month is coming? Have you cut out or reduced your carb intake? You need Carbs for energy so maybe you could just up your carb intake on work out days?
