  • I have a good one The Camirillo Brillo by Zappa. When I think of the product flashers and what one could turn easily turn into by trying to moderate junk food I will think of the Camrillo Brillo , I don't even have to rework it.
  • Monday, a super two hike in the woods today. Unfortunately we missed the Teddy Bears Picnic.
  • Have you noticed all the junk candy bars and junk literature , that is gossips mags, are at the front of the store , right by the check out till, they are relying on impulse buyers. Have you noticed how much money goes into marketing and advertising to sell the junk food products,. I haven`t seen carrots, broccoli,…
  • The first Rule in Shopping : NEVER SHOP WHEN YOU ARE HUNGRY If you are hungry when you are shopping you may go for the high calorie foods, chances are you won't get buy the bakery and gobbling it down before you reach the cashier.
  • I watched the show from BBC "the men who made us thin" {on you tube] Part 4 . I posted a thread on this earlier on. , Pepsi did try and improve their products for better health but sales fell and the shareholders got upset and they went back to business as usual. That tells me who calls the shots. In this documentary…
  • Fantastic story. You had the courage to return them. You kept $23 in you pocket, if you were to times that 4, that is 4 visits a month to the store that would be a savings of $92.00 a month and that would leave you with $1104.00 extra at the end of the year in your bank account by not buying junk. No chump change,
  • Sunday is here and it is another day to walk the dogs, through the trails , up and down the hills, another day to relax and breath the fresh air and escape from it all. There is no other exercise more enjoyable than walking the dogs.
  • What I found upsetting about the Doc. "the men who made us thin" {all 4 parts are uploaded on you tube} was when Jacques Peretti did an interview with the Ceo of weight watchers. In the documentary what was presented was 95% of the people eventually failed and regained most of the weight and the best that could be offered…
  • OMG OMG oooh ouch ouch The brownie alone has so much sugar plus the coca cola!!! It's a killer . All I need is a shopping cart full of pop tarts , brownies , sodas . I can eat all I want and hit my macros. I am on the highway to nowhere.
  • BBC 's doc's are simply about convincing people they are victims??? I don't think so. They are about how things work. The empty promises of the diet companies, the slick marketing of the sugar industry {food giants} , how much money they will invest to kill off any taxes on sugar products. LOL but countries who fund their…
  • That is why it is important to consult a professional . Each diet brings it pluses and minuses. For example some people consider grains and wheats not so good.. For me it is not a problem I eat whole wheats and I also eat oatmeal which is by far the better choice. The human being for the last 3 million years spent his /her…
  •    I am doing this out of love
  • Oh when Pepsi tried to change to healthier options sales went down and the shareholder became upset. Think about it.
  • Just a mention there is a lawsuit against the makers of Truvia http://www.foodbusinessnews.net/articles/news_home/Regulatory_News/2013/07/Lawsuit_questions_natural_clai.aspx?ID=%7BEBC59CE9-B149-4257-A098-31F4731805F5%7D
  • Generally I avoid the cheeses, much like I avoid red wine. But I have tested the parmasan and it doesn't trigger, and neither does the Baby Bel. I am aware food additives high in nitrates are also a major problem in triggering headaches.
  • Great Post , luv it.
  • I learned from my experience to avoid these these type of products as they would trigger the most painful headaches. Two things I look for when I get a headache is what have I eaten that has msg {there are about 100 names for msg these days such as yeast extract best to find them} or an artificial sweetner tucked away in…
  • Okay let me be more specific , the red bell pepper, in fact in all fresh veggies and fruit I eat for me they all okay. I ignore sugar from these sources provided I am eating my serving size not the entire bag of apples. These sources have fiber in them, The sugar found in my yogurt and salad dressings, my bread/pasta I can…
  • The problem with moderation is there is no guideline or definition of what makes a moderate amount. Like one chocolate bar daily is moderate? How about a twinkie every two days. Using a macro diet I could survive on pop tarts and still log my macros.
  • Sugar from fruit I would ignore if you are getting your 3 or 5 daily servings. I would look at the other foods. Sometimes it can't be helped if it is found in your milk , whole wheat bread /pasta tomato sauce etc. I would avoid all other forms of sugar.
  • There was this post where the guy trashed his sodas , cookies and chips. Well the outrage posted by some people towards the guy because he failed to donate the so called food {as if diet soda has nutrition}food was incredible. I posted this topic for ideas on how to save money and how to use that savings for the foodbank…
  • It is rather Ironic in a poor country such as Brazil eating out in a Mcdonalds has now become a symbol of a rise in social status.
  • I will be leaving soon to walk the dogs . I will enjoy that fresh air, the fresh forest smells, the quiet, the relaxed feeling I get taking in nature and the total enjoyment that comes from walking the dogs.
  • Nice to know, you sound like a caring person.
  • For one studies show that 10 - 20 minute small walks daily are a benefit. For some older people and the very obese it is the best they can do. More intense workouts can cause fall plus ankle and joint injuries. Given that most diets are calorie deficient {lets say 1200 to 1300 for women , more for men} eating a few…
  • I walk hiking trails where there are stairs, I mean 120 steps down 130 back up, there are mini hills, steep hills, So there is a lot of downhill and climbs back up with some easy areas in between I do on average an hour to an hour and a half each day all the dogs my friends included. The trails are off leash and the dogs…
  • No I am not stirring the pot. It is a good idea, a motivator for people to stay on track and it benefits others. What I would be more interested in hearing from you is what you plan to donate. Mine will be 2 cans of salmon, 2 cans of tuna and one peanut butter this week.
  • Personally I cook up rolled oats the 15 minute variety in one big batch then refrigerate the rest, pull my portion out each day ,I make moist with a dash of water and reheat in the micro. It saves a lot of money buying the oats from the bin and they are a good source of fiber and other nutrients. With the savings I upgrade…
  • I don't get the 1000 calories added at dinner. I don't see any protein carbs or fats with that? It reads like empty calories. Reading your diary you are under goal in carbs/fiber fat Protein I wouldn't worry about the sugar if it is coming in through whole wheat bread, Milk and fruits. There is two types of diets clean…
