It may well be as poorer countries lack access to clean drinking water which results in a consumption of sodas..

The sugar issue from the Huff post Whether it's in a piece of fruit, your soda or a pastry, sugar is made up of the same two components: fructose and glucose. The molecular structure and composition of sugar molecules is the same no matter where they come from. The ratios of fructose and glucose are pretty much the same in…

How I got my veggies up was through crunchy salads that means red /orange/yellow /green bell peppers with broccoli slaw, throw in some grapes, mangoes, and other fruit in with the veggies, I like grated carrots, but baby carrots are just as good, flavor your salad by usina arugula {nuty flavor leaf} cabbage slaw, chunks of…

First , you need more fresh fruits and more fresh vegetables. There is no where need the amount recommended in the five a day plan the UK is promoting. You are big on the potatoes which are full of nutrients but need more reds/greens/orange colored veggies in your diet. The White Bread switch it for Whole Wheat Bread For…

I have learned to say no to junk food. I haven't had a pizza in months however I may change and have one but it will be homemade with fresh veggies lean beef and melted low fat cheese on top and less salt. The cookies are homemade, with oatmeal, whole wheat flour, and a little bit of honey and applesauce. I find for me it…

I agree with you, I believe a number of people on this board do not know what a peer reviewed study means however you can send them to google scholar to research and read the abstracts.

Hi James , in the not to short past I had boxed cereal in my home. Cheerios, Bran Flakes, and Granola were my choices back then, I would use them as a snack food in the evening. They had to go. Yesterday was when I took notice of the price difference of amount in weight and volume I was getting out the oatmeal and…

I think you have made a valuable point. Stopping and taking stock of what is driving the eating. I remember having a difficult encounter by phone with another individual and found myself in the kitchen eating a peanut butter sandwich. I had an ah ha moment and could see I was soothing myself by eating. Not a good habit to…

That somehow I am going to go into deprivation mode if I don't indulge in that ice cream, cake, chocolate candy bar and I will binge is a huge myth. With all the fruit I am eating and what is in my fridge it is hard to see myself in deprivation mode because I am not allowing myself the odd junk fix.

Well Cherrios are processed therefore break down faster so you will be hungrier that much sooner so using your example a 4 hour mileage out of a serving of oatmeal versus a 2 hour mileage out of Cherrios meaning I will now need a second bowl of the stuff means I am doubling the cost again for Cherrios so all in all a…

I agree with the Poster who makes her own treats and freezes them. To me that is a great idea. If frozen they have to defrost so it is not so easy to keep going back for seconds or a third , planning is involved with this idea. Secondly I like the odd treat and homebaked allows me to control the quality and quantity of…

Great idea I can see how that can work for me.

I am not on a diet but a lifestyle change, that means I have had to change my attitude and beliefs about junk food. which has been easy for me after watching the Men who Made us Fat BBC, The weight of a nation HBO, the skinny on obesity UCTV my big fat low fat diet, rip off foods BBC and a number of other documentaries all…
