Just because you "all" don't agree with my post doesn't make you experts or any better than anyone elese. Perhaps you didn't bother to read my first paragraph where I stated that exact phrase ---> let me requote "We all have different starting points. We all have different metabolic rates, sensitivities, allergies, and…

^^^ Increase your lean protein. Going for fast weight loss is a sure fire way to lose lean body mass. Look for an eating program that supports your goals.

Inherently when you don't generally know what's going on inside your body you tend to follow whatever diet is trending hoping that it will do its magic. Hate to break it to you but you have to start with the basics. We all have different starting points. We all have different metabolic rates, sensitivities, allergies, and…

Funny I just wrote a blog post about this exact topic. My answer is going to be a bit different and not focus on why I gained weight personally but moreover what the root cause is of weight gain. Inflammation is at the core of weight gain. Hidden allergens, infections, environmental toxins, an inflammatory diet, and stress…

I don't necessarily think Slim Fast is bad - ok I do. It's horrible. Here's the problem with dieting...it's not a lifestyle change and the money you spent on Slim Fast will be wasted because you will gain the weight back because you didn't change anything about your lifestyle. Start thinking about living a different way…

Here is an excerpt from Chris Kressers' article on toxicity: Article Title: Cereal grains: the unhealthiest “health food” on the planet? "The major cereal grains – wheat, corn, rice, barley, sorghum, oats, rye and millet – have become the staple crops of the modern human diet. They’ve also become the “poster children” of…

You know if I felt the food industry had my best interests at heart I would be eating more whole foods. But I'm on a budget and I want the best nutrition I can find for the best cost. I just watched the documentary Food Inc. I encourage everyone to watch it. To completely switch to organic is not in the cards right now but…

First of all, you are doing great!!! Keep up the good work. Stay positive. The best type of exercise is HIIT (high intensity interval training). To maximize you only need to perform this about 12 min a day. Do a google search - this is truth.

Cleasing. Detoxing. What does it mean? The better question is what are you trying to achieve. Cleansing is based on the premise that we live in a toxic world. What I'm referring to is a method to remove harmful toxins from your body that build up in your cells. That build up causes obesity and the toxins are referred to as…

I researched 24 different health and wellness companies that produce supplements, I also subscribe to consumerlab.com which tests supplements and provides an approved or deny rating based on the product ingredient claims. I'll share some of the info I have accumulated during my quest for the best for me. BTW - I only use…

I take a hot bath after my workout and only wet my hair. I try to only wash it every third day or so. Try dry shampoo if you're super greasy :) But brush that oil through your hair first - it's great natural conditioner!!

I love the IDEA of juicing but think it's too expensive and time consuming. I take two products, IsaFruits and Isagenix Greens. I add one spoonful to my smoothie. Please don't barrage this post with the argument of whole foods over powders. There really is no need. I don't want to spend MY valuable time away from my family…

I assume your doctor has given you some literature on what your thyroid does. But just a little education goes a long way. I know this is alot of info but I would encourage you to get a book or go on the web and start reading on the topic of thyroid hormone. Thyroid hormones perform a ton of functions in your body: They…

It absolutely can be done!

I keep my own personal blog and have been focused on building a lean body. My current post is available with pictures. http://wp.me/p3RrmU-83

Hey peeps! Just signed up for a 6 week boot camp! See ya in 90 days!!

Many good examples here. For whole foods in general if it used to run, swim or fly eat it. Love salmon, shellfish lean beef, venison. My personal go to is protein powder (Isagenix) as the cleanest, cheapest, most convenient meal replacement. Serving = 240 calories, 24 - 36 g of protein, 8 g of dietary fiber (keeps you…

I didn't see this until today but I'm in. I love MFP. Been using actively for a while. My starting weight is: 208 Goal in 90 days = 180 I follow the Isagenix weight loss and fat burning program. I've been using it for 7 months and have lost over 20 pounds and kept it off. My diary is open if you're curious what I eat. Will…

^ good advice except money has to be spent to eat somewhere - be it at the grocery store, GNC or Isagenix. I challenge you to find something wrong with the Isagenix protein. Spending less than $3.00 for a meal isn't highway robbery. If you aren't willing to give it a look then don't knock it. Any by the way it's not a diet…

Just because someone is within what we perceive to be a healthy weight range doesn't necessarily mean they are healthy. I know very thin people who have diseases that keep them from gaining weight.

You need to figure out your basic macros based on your goals before you even think about how that translates into food intake. I'm going to focus on protein for this discussion but I can give more info if you want. Also read about timing of food intake as it relates to exercise. I would suggest eating your carbs before 1pm…

You need to figure out your basic macros based on your body before you even think about how that translates into food intake. I'm going to focus on protein for this discussion but can give more info if you want. Protein = The RDA (recommended daily allowance) of protein intake for sedentary adults, 0.8 g/kg (1)(2), is…

^^ good advice. Also read Jillian Michael's book Master Your Metabolism.

You need to remove with your cravings first. Calorie reduction diets don't normally work long term because you aren't changing your eatting to work FOR your metabolism. I agree with others that I no longer have cheat days because I don't have cravings anymore. I'm no better or worse than you but finally got it into my head…

I am taking Isagenix and have released 25 pounds. People on here who don't know about the quality of the products will tell you they are crap. Bottom line - they don't know. I've been doing this for 7 months and have kept all my weight off. I still indulge when I want but by and large this is a lifestyle change. I will…
