While this is a somewhat unpopular opinion on this site, I don't think you need to stress too much about eating your exercise calories. Research has shown individuals with a large amount of weight to lose can safely maintain a much higher calorie deficit than those on their last few lbs. It's possible that you are…

Yay! I've got a computer again...(just in time for yoga tomorrow morning... what was I thinking, again?) :p Amy

I agree with what most everyone (including you), has said so far about this! I must say, I feel the same way as you do. I don't really feel 'yucky' when I eat processed foods. I've always eaten fairly clean, and never had a problem with an occasional fast food meal causing issues. Honestly I think the problem is mostly…

Everything I've read says carbs before (1.5 hrs) and mixture of carbs and protein after - but more carbs than protein. I've seen different numbers, 4:1, 2:1, etc. But honestly, with a 2-3 mile run, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Eat something light beforehand if you need energy, but your probably not gonna have to…

This may sound like a cop-out, but seriously, just push play, and bring it. Once your muscles get going again, the soreness and stiffness lessens. There's no secret trick to it, you just got to do it. If something feels like too much, modify, don't go so low, etc. But I promise, you can do it! And you may even feel better…

I'm proud to say I made it through chest, bi, tri (and ab ripper, which I can totally just do from memory) without the DVD tonight! I missed having all my buddies there with me, but I liked having my own choice of music :p. I think I pushed it just as hard or harder then ever before. I'm very proud of myself! Actually, I…

Thanks guys! I found the workout sheets, and descriptions, so I should be able to at least do the strength training workouts until I get a new computer...

my laptop died :-(. TEAR! I've lost all my P90X files!!! BOOO!!! Hoping to get this resolved quickly so I can get back in the game... gonna try and do the chest, shoulders, tri workout without the DVD, if I can find a workout sheet with all the moves online, and some descriptions to remind me what they are... but…

I went straight through it, but I definitely got sick of it. (That's kinda the way I have to do things, commit to something, and just do it... no breaks or else I won't make it.) P90X is better, cause it's a huge variety of workouts. So seriously, if you can do 'ok' at 30DS, you can do P90X!!

The first thing I added in after running was a round of Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. I found it to be hugely effective, and a great intro to more strength training. It'll help your running too! I went straight from 30 day shred to P90X (which was my first thought for you, based off of reading your current exercise list!)…

I would freeze the dough, but that's just a thought, haven't actually tried it. (I'm just thinking how I would usually store dough, if it didn't come in a can)

Wow, that's a truly incredible transformation! Congratulations, and congratulations on your wedding!

did legs+back and ab-ripper-x today... so with kenpo tomorrow, I'll be all caught up with y'all, and done with week 1 of phase two. My how time flies. Anyone else feel kinda bummed we don't get a new leg video? This one is probably the easiest for me too, it's not too difficult for me to get through all the reps of all the…

The nutritional information between zucchini and yellow squash may not be identical, but I would bet my first born child, the difference would be within the margin of error of portion estimation, and variation between plants. They may be different colors, but they really are very similar veggies. It's similar to the…

I think everyone, (or most people at least) goes through this specially at the beginning. I had to make a conscious effort to talk about it less to people outside MFP. I think it requires obsession to make this kind of crazy lifestyle change, but as the change becomes habit, the obsession lessons, and you can work on…

swingin: easy, I dance west coast swing. Used to do it obsessively and competitively, now do it only rarely and socially... but once I lose all the weight, I probably will compete again. chandra: kinda a long story - but it has personal significance to me, and has turned into my online moniker for almost everything. It's…

Yay for you lizzy! And good to hear on the eating more side - motivation for me to stick with it. By the way, you know how Tony always says "I workout for the recovery drink -- it's that good"? Well I totally do that. I was just thinking this morning, "if I get an awesome leg and back workout it, then I'll deserve a…

bread* sprouted grain bread! grrr autocorrect. My loaf is 15 carbs per slice, with 3 grams of fiber... So 12 net carbs. Depends on how low you consider low carb, but in my book, as a 40/40/20 er, it's really low. Also sprouted grains have a much lower glycemic impact, which is the goal of a low carb diets. Brown rice, for…

On what logic do you say stay away from all types of bread, but allow other whole grains? Check out sprouted grain brewed, or even breads made with brown rice flour. Sorry to be snippy, but blanket statements like that bother me. Moderation!

haha, I'm verryyy slowly inching down through the 150's too. I think each 10 lb increment just gets harder! Oh well, makes sense, seeing as we are losing a higher percentage of our body weight the lower we get... I will be SO stoked once I finally see the 140's. :p

I was totally scared at first too, but it's held up fine for me. One thing I do, is make sure to slide the little piece as close into the hinges of the door as is convenient in the space I'm in... less torque pulling the door open! (As mine was want to fly open when the attachment was further out) As far as weight goes,…

TOFU!! It's great scrambled, in stirfries, can even use it in deserts to add some nice creaminess.

that's awesome, you look great! I have the same shirt as you, by the way. (The before shirt)

I was (and am still) a sucker for the vegetarian burritos at my neighborhood taco stands in san diego... probably like 1200 calories for the burrito, and I had it for dinner pretty regularly. I will say it's one of my favorite foods ever, so I have still let myself eat one a few times since I started dieting. But that's…

Can't, unfortunately, since I'm in a dorm guest house type place for the summer. Plus I'm only here for another month, after which point I'll have pull up bars!
-
that's what I did towards the end, I took out my heaviest band from the pullup group, and then sat down pretty far away to still get a good burn. The problem is, the heaviest weight by itself isn't really heavy enough for the bicep stuff... I was doing 30, 35 reps of all the stuff, had to keep pausing the video to "find…
-
so I did back and biceps this morning, and had exactly the problem I thought I was going to... I have to use all my bands to get enough resistance for pullups, so every time I have to switch between the pullups and the bicep move, it takes me like 5 minutes. I really don't think I got any calorie burn at all from this…

dudududududu, it's ab-rip-per-ex.. lol :)

chest, shoulders, tri last night, and plyo this morning! Man it feels good to get back in the swing of things. I'm excited about that workout (chest etc.), I think it will be great once I have a better grip on all the exercises. I was worried more about form, and figuring out how to do the moves so they worked for me, than…

Haha, looks like I might have to go back to express! Thanks for all the compliments everybody! While I'm nowhere near 'there' yet, the progress feels fantastic!
