There is another juice fasting thread going with multiple participants. You should check it out. There is a lot of information and maybe a little debate as well. And here is the link http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/292205-juice-fasting?page=6#posts-3912343

Omega-3s are supposed to be good for healthy hair. B vitamins, mainly in the form of Folic acid, are supposed to help your hair grow to it's full potential. Emergen-c has a lot of B vitamins. Trader Joe's has a great B vitamin complex tablet that dissolves under the tongue and it is supposed to support a healthy metabolism…

And for those who don't want to take the time to read the article, here is the ending quote that I think sums it up pretty well.

I'm sure I could figure this out if I thought about it enough... but how do you all feel about the cost of juicing? Including the costs of the juicer and of the fruits and vegetables. Does your grocery bill seem to be going up at all? And what is the difference between juicing and blending? I would even think that by…

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=bmr+30+year+old+woman+5%279%22+291+pounds assuming your 30 years old, your "sedentary" energy expenditure would be 2,524 calories leaving you at about 2,000 calories a day to lose 2 lbs/wk. If I were you I would up your calories to at least 1,900 if you are feeling hungry.

I use Trader Joe's fat free french vanilla half and half... you can get similar products at other stores. I mix 2 tbsp in my coffee for 50 calories. I love coffee and I totally believe in its metabolism boosting qualities.

If you have 100 lbs to lose that is about 2 lbs a week for less then a year. It took a lot more than a year to put on that weight so in reality you don't have that far to go! After you lose the first few pounds you'll be so motivated it will keep you going. Use your loss as a motivator to keep going. You can do it! :)

My starting weight was about 175-180. Currently I'm at 150 but I feel flabby. My goal is 140 but more importantly, I'd like to be toned.

i need to get back into this! actually, i was just pondering what my workout will be tomorrow morning. i bought the book last summer and finished the first stage. i think i'll start from scratch and see where it takes me. great idea!!

I often run on a bike path that follows a river (really more like a treated sewage to ocean type channel) and even though there are a few people on it at night, i still get creeped out. especially on the underpasses that go under streets and a major freeway. i often imagine finding a dead body or someone jumping out at…

oh man, story of my life. hahahaa. its nice to hear it from someone else though!

I agree with sandram. I generally just track my fiber and overall carbohydrates rather then my sugar because I also eat a lot of fruit and I refuse to stop. :)

Trader Joes has a B vitamin complex that is absorbed under the tongue. 100 tablets for about 6-7 dollars. I took my first one today, so far so good on the neon yellow pee.

20 lbs and I really need new pants. Probably lost 1-2 sizes. Dress sizes vary so much for me because I have a very small upper body and huge hips, so I don't think its a good indication.

Take it one step at a time. Lose 5 lbs, re-evaluate, lose another, re-evaluate... etc. That is what I've done and my original goal weight has dropped 20 lbs! As some of the other posters have said, body fat % is a great way to go about it as well but websites are inconsistent and its not always easy to get an accurate…

Trader Joe's has some great frozen Indian food. I love the paneer tikka masala... 330 calories and very filling.

Yes, areas that get their water from groundwater often have arsenic but we have regulations about how much it can contain... on the order of parts per billion.... parts per billion! Sure MSG is naturally occurring but how much is in a mushroom compared to a package of ramen seasoning? I tried to find this online but…

Salt is naturally occurring... arsenic is naturally occurring... does that mean we can eat as much of it as we want? And no, there is not MSG in bamboo shoots or mushrooms. Even canned bamboo shoots. I read my labels. http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-bamboo-shoots-canned-i11028…

I too, don't think the noodles themselves are that bad but if you're strapped for calories there are plenty of better things you could eat. How good for you could they be at 20 cents per package?? You might as well be eating cardboard, right? Where you really go wrong though is in the seasoning... yes a lot of sodium but…

Make your own!!! Recipe: Soba (wheat), udon (buckwheat) or frozen dumplings Veggies (peppers, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, onions... whatever you want) Chicken stock or bouillon (4 cups liquid) 1-3 tsp of soy sauce white pepper or cayenne to taste (1-3 tbsp curry powder) or (1 tbsp red wine vinegar for hot and sour soup) 1…

TJ's has frozen paneer tikka masala. Each box is 270 calories and it is delicious! I eat it for lunch a lot during the week at work and can't believe I'm only eating 270 calories. Their chicken tikka is good too. If you like spicy, their lamb vindaloo is good, as well as their paneer saag. Mmmm, I love Indian food if you…

i prefer nonfat soy or nonfat regular milk. both have more protein.

I'm 5'10-11ish and I started at weight of 175. My first goal was 150 to get my BMI to the middle of the "healthy range". At the time I was at the upper bound of healthy. Now I'm working on some vanity pounds plus I just want to become more athletic and a better runner so my new goal is 140. 140 seems so insane to me. I…

I agree, I think the calculator is a bit of an over-estimate. I guess it at about 400-600 calories and it told me 1000+. It is really intense and you'll probably lose a lot of water weight. Just be sure to drink plenty of water and give yourself about an hour after a small meal beforehand.

love 'em.

My competitive streak keeps me going a lot... maybe you could try to channel that in yourself. I also really like planning things out to a "T", so I think that motivates me as well. For instance, I ran this hill a few weeks back and it kicked my butt. Now I'm determined to do it again in a few weeks without stopping so…

if that is the case, i wouldn't be surprised if you body is just holding on to what it has in fear that there might not be any food available in the near future. i'm a big offender of being behind on my calories and i think it definitely slowed down my weight loss for awhile. if you're really far behind on your calories,…

1. 5 pounds is insignificant in the scheme of things, don't sweat it. As mentioned before, could be water weight, muscle, food build up in your intestines... etc. you would have to be in surplus of 17,500 calories to gain that much in fat. It CAN'T be fat if you are being true in your logging. 2. make sure you are logging…

My gym has a nice indoor track next to a set of circuit weight machines. I really like doing one station, running a lap, do another station, run a lap... etc. When I do a simple cardio exercise I don't leave the gym feeling "tired" like I do when I lift weights, so it's a nice way to mix it up.
