I just ordered a FT4. Cannot wait to get it. Polar has def made a name for themselves. I think its gotta be in the top 3. If you cycle, swim there are others some prefer over them but from what I've heard you can't go wrong.

Congrats! I ran my first and only a little over 3 yrs ago with my daughter. I had the best time. Seeing all the different people, different ages...some even with dogs and strollers was really inspiring. I ran my best time to date that day. I really need to do another! Enjoy it, go at your pace and cross that finish line!!

I tried this 3 yrs ago with much success in just a couple months. I did grow tired of the beans with every meal. I started it again 3 1/2 weeks ago and I'm down 4 lbs. Adding some supportive friends here to encourage you and ask questions will help you stay accountable as well as logging your food...even the bad stuff. I'm getting close to 40. But most wouldn't know that if I didn't tell lol! Feel free to add me. I've got two kids. One a sophmore in h.s and a 5th grader. Got back on MFP last month after being gone far too long. So far, so good!

Maybe try adding beans/lentils to your diet. They are on the good carb side. Give you plenty fiber so your net carb intake goes down quite a bit. The body also digest them slower so you seem to have the feeling a being full awhile longer.

Food prep will help you be successful in this lifestyle. There have been a couple times over the last month I've had to opt for fast food. Wendy's small chili & side garden salad. Thanks guys for the feedback. I ended up going to the gym last night but am excited to give it a go this evening. It's still pretty warm here in Nor Cal so the gym's a/c has been calling me lol!

^^^This!! Unless you are low carbing you don't need to worry one or the other. Its all about portion control. Brown rice & sweet potatoes are said to be more healthy. But you still end up with the same macro structure.
