(and I want to move anyway)

Of course I would. I think it's assessed at $110 or 120k.

Those eyes... wow....

See that's the problem. I'm pretty laid back, not very competitive. And although I know I need to lose some weight, I'm pretty content with my body image. I'd like it to be better but I don't obsess that it's not.

As long as there's alcohol involved.

Ride a bicycle. It's great to explore around your neighborhood. Maybe there's a place you can have some lunch; if you ride there you can afford the calories to actually eat a full lunch.

Okay... so... Trying to do the food tracking but it's hard for me this time for some reason. I just need some discipline. Also feeling sorry for myself because I pulled a muscle in my back and came down with a bug over the weekend. On the mend but the back still bothers me.

Anytime anyone says "the only way" I mentally call BS. But the key there is the idea of continuous monitoring.

Kind of an old thread, but hey, if the shoe fits... So as of early this year, I was down 35 pounds from the previous August. Well.... I seem to have put 10 back on. I got a little lazy about entering my food into MFP and that made it easier to grab that extra snack at night. Meh. So yesterday for the first time in a while,…

Hey, well, the weather, and travel and stuff. But I've ridden some. 2/1 - 9 2/9 - 26 2/14 - 33 2/15 - 28 Total - 96 miles The last couple days have been gorgeous, if a bit windy. This is the fountain in the downtown plaza- note people frolicking in it.

Gidget. Hey, that was for rav52 Meh. Let it stand.

And remember, there are two ways to balance the budget. You can eat/drink less, or you can exercise more. Beer is actually a pretty good recovery drink.

A follow-up: The holidays came and I plateaued. I kind of set my goal to do that: I figured if I can get through without gaining anything, that would be good. I gained a few, lost a few and when the holidays and some other life drama settled down, I came out the other end at 199. But that seemed like a barrier, and I…

It seems like different apps work better or worse for different people, maybe depends on which phone you have. I got tired of Sports Tracker and Endomondo always messing up the altitude data. Strava gets it right, but they don't have a Windows Phone app. Runtastic does and it gets the altitude right. In my experience, it's…

12/1 - 27* 12/4 - 28* 12/15 - 24 12/17 - 18* 12/18 - 26* Total: 123 miles * fixed gear rides Rollin' on the River: I had to work late tonight, so I couldn't do my normal Wednesday group ride. So I got 26 miles in solo. I stopped along the way at the bar where the Night Riders finished their ride and had a bite to eat with…

12/1 - 27* 12/4 - 28* 12/15 - 24 12/17 - 18* Total: 97 miles * fixed gear rides Finally got riding again after all that frozen stuff. We had our Night Rider Christmas Party on Sunday, and afterward I rode over to the tree downtown before heading home. I rode my commuter bike. Later in the ride I hit a muddy trail so now…

Thanks everyone!

It was at a Christmas party encouraging tacky sweaters. That was the worst I had. Plus I rode my bicycle to the party and needed the layer under my jacket.

And for good measure, another random pic, taken at the Night Riders Christmas Party last night by a friend.

Here we go with Before and After pictures. The context is both pictures were taken at work when I was receiving awards (nothing big, really; one was an award for not getting laid off for 15 years; the other was for a certification I received.) The before is from mid-2012 when I was near my heaviest, probably about 235.…

This cold snap is killing me. I have no problem with cold per se, but the ice made the roads terrible and I really don't want to go down and break a second bone this year.
-
Wow, did that turn out to be prophetic. No riding since then; instead we had this on Thursday, Friday and Saturday: To slippery to even walk, let alone ride.

ACK! MY EPILEPSY!

But I'm still overweight (per BMI charts, and trust me, I can't claim to be muscular). 5 lb. to go before I'm Normal. On the BMI charts, anyway.

Lots of people are taking jobs below their level of education because this is largely a jobless recovery. It isn't that there isn't enough money in the economy; the rich are getting ever richer and corporate profits are robust. You're right; these jobs should be done by teens on their way up. But when there aren't enough…

Anyone who's upset because he can't get his Big Mac because the people who make it actually want a fair wage is a tool.

12/1 - 27* 12/4 - 28* Total: 55 miles * fixed gear rides Warm Before the Storm- It was 80 degrees here today; by tomorrow night we will be in the midst of a winter storm (or so they promise). We got out and rode in case we can't ride for a while. The sky has that look that it gets late in the fall, when change is imminent.
