New Years Revertions
I've been through this before; I find I can drop 20-30-40 lb. if I put my mind to it. I've been having too much fun and not getting enough exercise for about the last two years. I'm up to 250 lb., the heaviest I've ever been. So with the New Year I am trying to revert back to some of my old habits when I was in better…

Draggin' my sorry fat butt back into this crowd
I was posting pretty regularly and tracking my calories religiously for a while. Then I got away from it and gained most of the weight I'd lost. I still feel good, still exercise, but hey, I'm fat again. So let's give this another go, eh?

Two week wonder
We'll see if I last longer than two weeks. I've been around but not much lately. I had kind of a stressful 2015. I enter 2016 as heavy as I've ever been (243 lb.) Looking to drop about 50 lb. Cheers.

Business travel
Just because you're traveling for business doesn't mean a vacation from MFP. I first heard about MFP from my boss. He lost 35 lb. with MFP. He travels quite a bit for business and he had several trips. Fell off the MFP wagon and gained it all back (and them some, I think.) I need to weigh in tomorrow morning, but I just…

Eat less, move more, and keep breathing
Yeah, we all know the secret of weight loss. No revelation there. Maybe this has come up before, but here's a little TED Talk that explains why this works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGKLpYtZ19Q I posted it in Motivation because maybe it'll be something that will motivate someone in their weight loss.

Well, it's a start
I hit double digits in my weight loss today. Down 10 lb.in a little over three weeks. I'm not doing a particular diet, just tracking my food in MFP and trying to ride my bicycle a little more (and a little more vigorously).

This can't be healthy
I lost 3 lb. in one day. I did one of my hardest bike rides in a while. Most of the ride wasn't too bad, but the group also climbed Merrick Street, one of the steepest hills in town. Overall it's about a 15% grade but a few brief portions are twice that steep; it's hard to keep the wheels on the ground. I got up to the top…

Starvation with exercise
I ride my bicycle a fair amount for exercise. On those days I ride, I enter my exercise in and it will tell me I can eat 2000-3000 more calories because of the exercise. If I ate that much I think I would be as big as a house. But MFP tells me that if I don't eat, I'm flirting with starvation. So what's up with that? Is my…

Superiority Complex
A lot of people who are trying to lose weight have inferiority complexes, in that they don't feel they compare well to lighter people. You read about that a lot on the forum here. I have the opposite problem. I lost a bunch of weight several years ago, and I remember feeling this way, and now that I'm trying to lose weight…

Newb in Fort Worth
Got a smart phone, downloaded the app, had trouble getting it initialized, so I finally came over to the site. I think the issue was that I was trying to modify my profile before my profile existed so it kept reverting to the defaults. Anyway, here I am. Currently 6'-2", 232 lb. I'd like to get down to about 190. In 2005,…
