New Years Revertions

I've been through this before; I find I can drop 20-30-40 lb. if I put my mind to it. I've been having too much fun and not getting enough exercise for about the last two years. I'm up to 250 lb., the heaviest I've ever been. So with the New Year I am trying to revert back to some of my old habits when I was in better shape; namely using myfitnesspal to make sure I don't eat too much, and getting more exercise on my bicycle. So far I'm 3-for-3 on riding the bike this year.

Good for you for the 3 for 3. We all need a little kick start form time to time. I need to get back in the swing of things desperately.

So the New Years resolution didn't last. I got down to 246 and.... just didn't care enough to put in the work.

I put a few pounds back on with the pandemic, so I figured it was time for MFP (again). I'm not where I want to be yet, but I've made progress. I started at 248 lb. on July 25 and here we are on Labor Day weekend at 231. I want to get below 200 so I still have a way to go.

I'm using MFP to track my calories. Strava tells MFP about any exercise I record, so on the days when I eat to much I can hop on my bicycle and ride for an hour or two to get back within my targets.

By my calculations, you've made much progress! From 250 to 231 is almost 20 lb so good for you, Paul!

Also, these are superb shots of your bike and various backgrounds!

Thanks.... Although when I started in July I was 248, not 250.

As of today, I'm down to 228, so 20 lb. lost.

....and another 20 miles on the bike tonight. This pic was taken in front of the Van Cliburn Concert Hall at TCU in Fort Worth.

I turned 58 Friday, so Saturday I decided to ride my age on my single speed fixed gear. I ended up with 65 miles when I was done. I was right here when I hit 58.
