I had the same problem and exercise didn't fix it. I ended up getting custom fit orthotics and new shoes. I went to a muscle therapist in a physical therapy office to get them. I have the bodybugg, but I'm embarrassed to wear it out in the open. I don't like people asking me what it is. I have found some shirts that will cover it. It's nice to know if you have a particularly active day, even if you haven't exercised per se, you know how many calories you have burned.

I was always told to exercise either one hour before eating or two hours after (a meal), not a snack.

I think it's great to suck it in. You are strengthening your core. Just take your measurements with a tape measure when you take in a deep breath, blow it out and relax your belly. Then use that as your measurement. When you get truly fit, your waist will be smaller even when you are relaxed.
