Read the articles, for and against before. I'm bored, this was fun but it's boring now.... not going to waste my time with you, got more productive things to do...

It was this below figure 4, that drew my attention: "There was a significant rise in plasma triacylglycerol concentrations after the OFTT (Figure 3B⇑) after both evening meals. There was a trend, however, for the difference in triacylglycerol concentrations observed in the fasting state to be maintained, with higher…

Note the section on elevated triglycerides and lipid absorption as a consequence. My understanding is that this reduces to increased body fat storage
-
And yet another, this time citing negative impact of evening carbs on glucose serum levels. http://www.jphysiolanthropol.com/content/32/1/9
-
Definitely wasn't referring to you. You clearly read the articles before offering view. Not happening everywhere else except for Sarauk2sf
-
Fair point, the article is mostly emphasising the point about eating late increases fat absorption (see observations on triglycerides and lipid absorption) but you're right we were talking about carbs
-
And another one for the negative effects: http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/75/3/505.full

By someone who hadn't quoted anything. Spot the rational (oh wait, there isn't). Anyway, full article on negative implications for late eating: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1038/oby.2011.100/pdf

It is but watchout, I got shot down for quoting a "mainstream" press article so I hope you don't get shot for a fitness magazine. I note the references
-
How do you figure that exactly?
-
BTW the "Statham" approach was from an interview rather than heresay. It was a pig to find because everyone only seems to care about his workout plan which was quite varied (as he gets bored in the gym easily) The fact that he's a celeb is neither here nor there, he was a national level diver before that. Point is I was…

8kg so far but alot of that was before MFP. I could open my diary now except I'm ashamed of the 4000 calorie binge on junk I did today. Don't really want to share what that looked like
-
He's torn between reading, sleep and going after people who go "nope, cr@p and BS" without any evidence
-
Like listing 10 random science mags and not actual articles Might as well just say Justus von Liebig and be done with it eh
-
Touche, this one looks interesting. Would like to see the rest. It does say further research is needed but I'd disregard that - what abstract doesn't hedge it's bets this way!
-
Observations noted. What's the incontrovertible contrary research you have?
-
Ahh I tried to PM a pdf from a subscription site. Guess it didn't work
-
Debating with references rather than slagging - now that's science! Did you not see the links I just put up - The one's which jonny rebuffed? (although I don't think he even read them - seems that way anyway)
-
 BTW did you have a look at the five links I sent you on glutamine metabolism. Didn't hear a peep but was curious as to what you thought. Or did I just miss your post, in which case my apols.
-
Yet that's precisely what you've done all the way through without providing evidence. You question mine and you've still provided nothing and you think I don't get how science works
-
I think you're struggling with irony or just not actually reading the posts... or the links... or much of anything apparently
-
Oh please qualify that, pleeeaasse lol
-
Says the dude who didn't provide ANY
-
If those of us who have the wherewithall to provide evidence unlike you who yet again, have provided nothing! Some people really do just like to make pronouncements without any qualifying information which usually makes me skeptical Don't challenge if you can't prove it.. like I 'have'... again!…
-
Fine then not mine either
-
Ahem still no specific references
-
You have great humor - lol I want to see Jonnythan's "study after study" references. Can't ask for references and then not offer any. Plus if pictures of Statham and Craig aren't sufficient then I doubt another thesis will be compelling Google 'Carb Timing'. 2,360,000 hits. I'm sure they're all wrong and your right though…

And "voila" the partisans present themselves.... No contrary info at all and just getting the knives out anway :flowerforyou: Ah - I recall my youth when I also shot from the hip without any forethought., bless.....
-
The big elephant in the room which everyone appears to be ignoring completely, especially these "calorie is a calorie" partisans is key matter of 'Timing' Carbs are less of a problem in the morning than in the evening. Recently I started paying attention to the Jason Statham diet approach because I was looking for an…

Don't need to do anything fancy. I run at least 30k with initially soft weak skin. The ideal is to have twin skin socks or proper running socks. Twin skin are great but they can shred pretty quickly. Running socks are also great but tend to tear at the toes quickly. Neither will forever stop blisters but merely reduce the…
