  • I used to be the same - get very, very hungry the rest of the day if I had breakfast at a breakfasty time. But I got into the habit of nibbling on something first thing. Then I started fainting just before lunch and realised I was probably just eating too many sugary carbs at breakfast (sticky buns are not a breakfast food…
  • No, you can't eat too many veggies, if you're hitting your protein and fat macros as well. But I will say, you state that a lot of the portions were raw. I'd be careful with that - you can overload your digestive system, as raw veggies are more difficult to digest and you could get quite sick (vomiting and cramping).…
  • -1 Though when I'm pie-eyed, I'm very rarely euler. My favourite maths joke (told to me in my first ever engineering design lecture) - you'll need to write this one out: The integral of e to the power x is equal to the function of u to the power of n.

  • In the mirror, I've still not really noticed a difference. But I've gone down two dress sizes. Other people started to notice at around 20lb down. Critical mass of comments started around 30lb down. Just really want to start to notice it in myself now!
  • Your body can totally tell the time - humans have (on average) a 25 hour 'day', so we can be reset like little clocks by sunlight. BUT: this has no bearing on when you should and shouldn't eat things. Timing of meals (and your macros) should be set that you're eating at your preferred deficit, without feeling hungry or…
  • Except pizza - that's definitely chaotic good.
  • OP - congrats on your success! And those videos sure sound fun. I've not heard of Richard Simmons (I'm in the UK), but will have go check the vids out now!
  • OP, congratulations on your weight loss so far and thank you so much for asking this question. It's been one I've been asking myself for a while now. I have horrible self-esteem, and I know that's not going to go away with the weight loss. I've still not been able to discern much difference in the mirror, and I know that's…
  • Just so you know, in the English-speaking world, it's known as a [wine] spritzer (and I'm mentally remembering the German for that next time I'm in the country!). Be careful though - I've ordered wine spritzers where the barperson has added lemonade (added calories) rather than fizzy/soda water. They're delicious in the…
  • Definitely like it thin - more topping that way. (Not that I don't like bottoming, but unless it's stuffed, I want my meat!!) This preference is bought to you by years of "Asda deep pan pizzas" which were naught but a 10" circle, 3" deep of bread (not even pizza dough!) topped with a scraping of tomato, a couple of thin…
  • Just never (and I mean *never*) try that with coleslaw. Seriously.
  • I categorise myself as "ambisinister" - like a couple of other posters, I don't know when learning something new whether I'm going to be better right- or left-handed. So I write with my right, eat right-handed and knit right-handed, but I crochet, play pool, tennis, darts and hockey with my left. I use a knife with my…
  • I'm with WB55 - consistency. Also - knowledge. I read a lot in these forums and elsewhere about how to go about this. I worked out how to set a reasonable goal at a reasonable deficit (I'm netting around 1600kcal a day, 1900kcal gross.), got off my butt and moved more. Just walking to start with, then started a body…
  • 38yo. Bra size 36H bordering on 34J (that's 36G in American sizing). No, I don't wear a bra to bed - it would compact the girls too much and make me feel as if I'm sleeping on rocks (I sleep on my front.)
  • Remarkably quickly. Back last July, I couldn't walk up three flights of stairs at work without getting winded. I do at least five flights twice daily now. I've still a recovery time when I need to do seven in a row, but that was impossible to even complete six months ago. I've only been walking so far for cardio, but my…
  • I just want to say, this thread has inspired me to have pizza tonight. Good, thin-crust pizza. So looking forward to it!
  • Ooooh. A fellow Savage lover??? And to the OP - going through what is fairly serious surgery which the girl will need to go through more than once, just to please 'her man'? Hell no. DTMFA. (Note, this comment is not against implants - you do what ya gotta do for your own mental health. But you do it for you, not for some…
  • ???!!!!!!????!!!! Excuse me? We English don't have English muffins? They're American? We do have English muffins. They're called "muffins" over here, as the English bit is redundant. I'll concede that an American had his hands in the modern muffin, but it's still basically the old English recipe. But they're nothing like…
  • IDK - I've been tempted once or twice...
  • As long as you toast them, anything on them. Everything on them! Love mini-pizzas (some great recipes above) Cheese and Worcestershire Sauce - also good with crumpets. Faux McMuffin - toasted muffin, thin sausage patty, fried egg and slice of cheese. Ridiculously high in kcals (about 350kcal per muffin) but amazingly…
  • Genetics play a huge part. But also how you lose the weight. Lose slowly to give your skin time to adapt to the smaller you, add exercise to tone and mosturise. Even if you end up with some loose skin, don't think about surgery until you've maintained for at least a year - it may just catch up with your weightloss. Don't…
  • Hash browns English muffins Cheesecake I'm on a carb-fest at the moment. *ouch* Also, chicken with lemon and thyme. My go to for lunches. Get some drumsticks and thighs and put in a roasting dish. Add as much fresh thyme as you can stand (I regularly use about 100g, which is a lot). Chop a couple of medium onions into…
  • I agree with this. Anything above what you need for hormone function and cell repair is getting burnt off anyway. So if it's keeping you sated and happy, I wouldn't stress it.
  • There's more than one person here who's said the same thing, but this is the one that resonates most with me. If I have that piece of cheesecake or extra slice of pizza because I want it, then it's not a binge. But if I find myself stuffing my face with anything, even though I don't need it and don't necessarily want it,…
  • You're doing great - working out why things aren't shifting is one of the harder bits of the battle. The good thing is, now you know what's wrong, it's relatively easy to fix - and the results will start coming in again. Good luck! :flowerforyou:
  • There's a fantastic website out there called "What Size am I?" which allows you to bang in your measurements and work out, from a variety of stores (both US and UK), what size you would be in them. It's awesome. Not sure if I can post the link - but just google it. (Disclaimer, not affiliated in any way, just found it and…
  • Fantastic job! And glad to see you haven't completely given up the beer!!! :drinker:
  • Good luck! You're already doing brilliantly. With regards to bread, if it doesn't cause cravings or hunger, have at it. Fibre is good! Get enough protein and fat in your diet and you're good. Personally, I restrict bread to a couple times a week, but that's because I personally can easily overeat on the stuff.
  • This. Personally I do better with fat than carbs (to keep me from feeling hungry etc.), so I've adjusted my macros so I get approx equal grams of each. It's about 25% P, 25% C, 50% F. Doing well so far. Though some days I crave a more carb heavy diet. I blame hormones...
  • Except you feel too unworthy to do anything. And yes, a knotted rope does spring to mind. Or a bottle of pills. Or a sharp blade. Because when you hate yourself that much you think you don't deserve anything else. For me, putting on the weight was punishment for being a fat, ugly loser with no point in life.…
