A Graham (pronounced "Gram") cracker is like a thin, slightly soggy digestive biscuit. I'm in the UK and had a US-based friend bring me some over. They're not all that, tbh. To the OP - as I say, I'm British, and they look nothing like to me! I thought Nanaimo bars were supposed to be gooey and almost impossible to eat…

Definitely! I lost almost 80lb 7 years ago just with walking as my exercise. I still try to walk 3 or miles a day - it gives me more calories and it also gives me time to myself. It's not my only form of exercise now as I took up jogging in 2015, but it's probably my main exercise at the moment.

Yup - I'm definitely in the same boat here. I lost 80lb with MFP six years ago. I fell off the wagon 20lb from original goal, and although I didn't start gaining immediately, the weight eventually started to creep up. I did keep sticking my head in, but it didn't stick until the beginning of this year, once I'd put back on…

Holy heck, I'm so far behind!!! 01/10 7km 08/10 8km 10/10 10km Total 25km of 70km for October The beginning of the month is always a bit hell for me, work-wise - I got out on the 1st then too many late nights happened and I didn't get out for a week. I smashed it on Saturday though - thought I'd do an easy run, felt good…

Okay, after skipping both August and September checking in (I did run, honest!) I'm definitely IN for October. I'm signing up for 70km this month - I've had a promotion at work, so can't guarantee the time, but I really want to get myself out and moving and this will help me get out there and run. ETA - thank you,…

I'm living for the day I have enough grey in my hair to start dyeing it bright colours! I've always had dark hair that resists bleaching. I'm also picking up a more bohemian dress style - skinny jeans or leggings and long flowy tops. I love it.

2013 SW - 238lb Goal - 140lb I got as far as 160lb before falling off the wagon. This took 15 months, for me - female, 38, 5"6' on 1,640kcal a day. I gradually started to put the weight back on and by the time I got back here in January, I was back to 201lb. This time I set myself the goal of 160lb, and achieved that last…

It's surprising how much difference 8lb makes when you are lighter. I didn't notice much difference between 240 and 210lb, first time round. But I definitely noticed 176lb to 168lb! Good luck with your own journey - I also found it incredibly frustrating whilst losing the weight, at that point (c168lb) I felt I was in a…

@Briaboo4: Well done on getting back on to it. It's the hardest part, usually. I wish you luck on your journey.

Congratulations! 40lb is an amazing achievement! Very good luck for the next 40.

Losing the weight (80lb from my highest) gave me the confidence to start running. After starting running everything changed. My health, fitness and well-being increased dramatically and I even went to the Doctors (someone I had avoided for very many years) to get a health check. Even though by then I'd put on almost half…

45 here. Lost 80lb in 2013-14 on MFP, put half of it back on, came back in January and just lost the second 40lb again. 2011: My 2020 progress:
-
Thank you! It means a lot - your blog is one I read for inspiration. You've really helped me this year.

I've lost 40 of a 41lb target since I got back to MFP at the beginning of January (yes, I'm a resolutioner!) Of those, 18lb were before lockdown, 22lb during/after. I was lucky in that I already had my focus on losing the weight, and I was able to manipulate my own circumstances during lockdown to help achieve my goals.…

@noblsheep and @Elise4270 my condolences for your experiences and loss. @katharmonic, many thanks for getting the August thread going! After meeting my stretch goal in July (even with skipping Monday's run due to a summer cold), I think I'll make 100km my official goal for August.

So yeah, thanks for the great advice…

I've never been able to get my brain to shut up. Therapy has helped somewhat, at least learning to not set so much store in what my brain was saying. I run and listen to a story app (Zombies Run!) at the same time. If that isn't engaging my brain (whilst the music playing), I have specific things I think about.…

It was all going so well until the middle of the month, now my times have collapsed. I was chasing substantially…

I've used them quite a few times. Yes, they are expensive and they don't completely fit what I like to eat (heavy on the veggies, light on the butter and cream etc.), but I have very busy days at work and it's given me some great mid-week easy cooks and takes away some of the panicking about what I'm going to cook in the…

01/07 7km 03/07 7km 05/07 10km 07/07 9km 09/07 7km Total 40km of 85km for July It's that time of the month again (month-end, and I'm an accountant), so I'm still working at half-eight in the evening. I therefore got my run earlier. It was damp, cold and drizzly, but I very much enjoyed it. It's good to get away from the…

01/07 7km 03/07 7km 05/07 10km Total 24km of 85km for July Off to a good start this month! Sunday was glorious, sunny and warm, but breezy. As it was so nice, I thought I'd see if I could run 10K, and I did - faster than my virtual race time three weeks ago! I'm massively chuffed with that! @katharmonic - that looks like a…

You've got this. Getting back to accountability is the first step and you know what works. I am in a similar situation - I lost 80lb with MFP 6 years ago, and slowly put half of it back on in the intervening years. I took back control of myself at the beginning of the year at just over 200lb (a weight I never wanted to see…

Congrats on your success, not only on losing during lockdown, but also getting some healthier habits. My weightloss has slowed during lockdown, but I've managed to lose 14lb since mid-March (on top of 18lb I'd lost since the New Year). I've had to completely overhaul my diet and exercise regime, but I'm getting there.

After smashing my goal of 75km last month, I think I'm going to go for 85km in July. I'm eyeing up that 100km (I made 96km in June), but I don't know if the hot weather will hold me back and I'm not currently training for any 10K. We'll see. I can always reassess mid month! I've just checked my Zombies Run! app. My first…

But not so lax in actually doing the running, thankfully. I've smashed it for June! Nothing much else to…

You And me both. I've ended up most of a cup size bigger after all this. From a 38H to a 34H to a 34J to possibly 32J once I've lost these last 10lb or so.
-
You have totally got this. 7 years ago, I started here at 5'5'', and 238lb. I lost 80lb by watching what are and walking. I've fallen of the wagon, and got back on, many times, but I'm still plodding along. It takes time, but set yourself a doable calorie goal (I picked 1640 kcal), and log everything. Work out what gets…

Thank you! I've only done one ZR virtual race, the first one back in 2016. I did the 5k back then, but doing the 5k unlocked the 10k as well, so that's the one I did on Sunday. (Turns out it's the same story, but it's been a while since I listened!) I'm definitely going to sign up for the next one. In the mean time, I'm…

Virtual 10K downloaded on my phone and got out nice and early to avoid other pedestrians, warmed up with a decent walk and…

02/06 9km 04/06 7km 06/06 7km 08/06 7km 10/06 7km Total 37km of 75km for June I'm doing well on my distance, not so much on the actual logging of it! Oops. I'm off in a moment to lay down another 5km, ahead of the planned 10km on Sunday morning. I'm really looking forward to that one. Then we'll see. I hope everyone is…
