Thanks @honunui!
@TheMrWobbly Great job on your mini-triathalon! 😁
@katharmonic. Maybe the vending machine was teaching you patience. Chocolate cake is way better than carrot cake so it would have been worth waiting for to me.
@marisap2010 Way to go on meeting your weight loss goal! That is awesome,!
@quilteryoyo Thanks for setting that up to keep us posted. I'm all signed up.

Completed my class at the gym, and then I did 2 miles around my neighborhood. Cleaned the house, and now I am contemplating a nap.5

Pouring rain and windy as the remains of Delta came through yesterday. Ran anyway! Because we are hardcore and do the hard things! It’s getting to be that time of year when every day is going to be rainy and/or cold so we might as well start getting used to it now and not making excuses. But honestly it turned out to be beautiful running weather, although our warm up walk was chilly and my soaking wet husband nearly froze to death in Kroger afterwards!
My Brooks adrenaline 18s which I otherwise love are slippy on wet pavement so I wore my cheap Sauconys (I can’t remember which they are but they are an entry level priced shoe) which I ordinarily use only for walking, and the Sauconys had great traction. Even so, did not feel like doing planned speedwork in the wet. So we just ran a little bit faster than easy and called it good.
It’s starting to be truly fall. The leaves are beginning to change and there were ripe persimmons all over on the railroad access road.
This is the community garden - everything is done for the season except for okra and a few flowers.
Taking photos with a plastic baggie over my phone again!9 -
@eleanorhawkins and @mari33a When I first copied and pasted @Camaramandy648 email address I got a failure message too. Then I noticed that she had typed "email me atcamara.mandy@gmail.com" when it should have said "email me at camara.mandy@gmail.com." I was including the word at in the email address. Maybe you did the same thing I did?1

It's 6am, it's pouring with rain! Time for a run! Wooo hooo!5

I ran 11 miles today. It was really nice when I got out around 7:20 this morning. It is supposed to be over 100°F later today so I was glad it was just in the 60's. Since it was my long run I was planning to take it pretty easy, but within a couple of blocks of my house a couple of runners came up behind me. I rarely see anyone running and I admit I picked up my pace a bit. Then when the first runner caught up with me we ran together for about half a mile before she turned off. Her friend never caught up to us. I ended up running the first mile in 9:40 instead of the 10:40 I had planned. But even though I was running faster than I usually do I was able to hold a conversation. I doubt I could have held it at that pace for 11 miles and I did slow down after I was on my own again, but maybe my easy pace is a little faster than I thought.
I did see 5 loose dogs out this morning and had to alter my route 4 times because of them. None of them really bothered me, but I don't want to run past unattended dogs that I don't know. I know sometimes dogs misbehave and get out when they aren't supposed to. But I really wish people would take better care of their dogs.
2020 races:
11/7/20: Run for 57th AHC Half Marathon7 -
Was raining this morning, which makes the leaves that have fallen on the driveway/road slick. That is my excuse for doing a treadmill run this morning. I did an easy 3 miles of running and 1 mile walking. I'm pretty sure I won't be allowed to run any next week, but hope to get some walking in.

About the issues with Hal getting mad when you change days... this week I had to completely change my schedule. After a couple of days the app gave me a message asking me if I'd done my runs... it gave me the option to say I'd completed my runs as planned so I just said yes and that made him/it happy.7

I have my garmin connected but I suppose I could manually enter after the fact.0 -
You are both braver than me @Avidkeo and @rheddmobile so I joined a gym for 3 months for dreadmill runs
Sending positive thoughts to you all!
Today was 90 minutes cycling, 90 minutes walking and 70 minutes running - I think 30 minutes hot tub is next 😊9 -

Don't know about that. I'm now freezing!
Should have wore my long sleeve merino. It's 13c/50f here usually I wear long sleeves below 10c, but I didn't factor in the rain. I'm now sitting in front of the heater with a coffee warming up my arms.
Other than that, run was great. Woke with a few niggles but nothing while running. I think i have to be more strict on the foam roller, really work on that scar tissue. Half expect to get some issues later today. But good happy run!8 -
@tracydvt Welcome!
@katharmonic I think we would all be in so mamuch trouble if all vending machines gave us what we needed and not what we wanted!
@quilteryoyo Good luck to you with your upcoming cath and surgery. I'm sure you will come through with flying colors.
Somewhere back in the last 65 posts someone mentioned citrus trees and thorns. We have a lemon, an orange, and a lime tree in our back yard. And, like someone else mentioned, the lemon tree thorns are killer. Our tree is mature and some of the branches have 2 inch thorns that are really thick. They will draw blood!
Like @RunsOnEspresso mentioned, I also assume most things around me have thorns. Or are poisonous. I just don't touch anything if I can avoid it.6 -

Been busy with work and life but finally got caught up on all the good stuff happening here from outlandish vending machines to amazing weight loss and of course all the running news. Yesterday’s long run was “only” 15 miles as we’ve started our tapering for the virtual MCM. It was raining off and on but actually felt pretty good. Next week’s long run is 8 miles. What on earth will I do with the rest of my day?
@quilteryoyo – You’ve got this. Praying all goes smoothly with your procedure tomorrow. Thanks for setting up the caring bridge site. I’m really not that far away from you so if you need an almost complete stranger for anything, give me a shout-out!
THANK YOU to the person showing another act of kindness in memory of @PastorVincent in paying for everyone’s medals.

Holy heck, I'm so far behind!!!
01/10 7km
08/10 8km
10/10 10km
Total 25km of 70km for October
The beginning of the month is always a bit hell for me, work-wise - I got out on the 1st then too many late nights happened and I didn't get out for a week. I smashed it on Saturday though - thought I'd do an easy run, felt good at the 5km mark so peeled on to the longer route, and got back, having completed 10km, in another PB (by another 5 seconds). Best of all, though, I've finally achieved a sub-6min 1km. All I have to do is string 10 of them together now and I've got my sub-60 minute 10km! I'm starting to believe this is truly possible!
Goals for the year:
1. Get back down to a decent running weight (currently set at 160lb) - achieved!
2. Run a sub-60 minute 10K
3. Run a race this year (this is looking so doubtful now!)
Races planned. None, but I've signed up for a "I beat 2020" challenge in December. It has bling!8 -
Thanks so much @Teresa502 for the kind offer. The "almost complete stranger" comment made me laugh. I've been telling everyone I think I have everything covered. If that changes, I'll let you know. I really do appreciate it!
Yeah for the PB @hmaddpear ! You are doing great!
