I weigh myself every day because I'm curious. But I've definitely learned that so many factors influence what you weigh at any one time - water weight due to sodium, TOM, new exercise routine, stress, lack of sleep.... the list is endless. Add to that a very slow digestive system and it gets very interesting! But it's…

Now this is definitely a cleanse I could get behind!

I'm British, so Yorkshire Gold with a splash of milk is the One True Way. Herbal infusions (generally Raspberry Leaf for period cramps and peppermint for a mood pick-me-up) get a small dash of honey to bring out the flavour.

In for more tips. I started with counter push-ups last year and am progressing (slowly) with knee push-ups (no stairs, alas). One day we will get there!

No, bread is not evil. But seriously, if one is going to eat it, better make it the good stuff (or, you know, covered in good stuff... mmmm grilled cheese....). Chilled supermarket sandwiches are definitely the devil. Calorific, tasteless and cardboardy. So not worth it. ETA: As I was typing this reply I thought I'd…

This. I also am very self-conscious about my weight, but the walking and body resistance exercises I'm doing mean that I'm getting stronger and fitter. It's quite a bump to the old self-esteem when you find you can now do something (e.g. climb five flights of stairs) which you couldn't do five weeks ago.

You are AWESOME! And that's some darned fine views. I need to find myself a mountain to climb, I think...

Bump for tips - I'm starting C25K soon!

I'd vote for burgers - make the mix with a goodly spoonful of lemon juice and a few teaspoons of thyme leaves for flavour. Also ridiculously low in calories for what you're getting. Otherwise, Thai curry? With the turkey, thai curry paste (red, green or yellow), add lots of stirfry veg and coconut milk. Delicious!

Like almost everyone else here on the thread - I carry a water bottle everywhere I go. (It's beside me at the moment, in fact.) I try to fill it up four times a day (I'm not sure what the conversion to fl oz is - that's 4 litres a day). It got a bit of getting used to in the first place, but now I wouldn't be without it.

Firstly, congratulations - that's an amazing success story. Secondly, to echo a previous poster's question - has the loose skin caused any physiological problems for you (or other commenters)? Such as chafing etc?

Hammersmith here. I've been logging since August. (Progress as below!) Feel free to add me, if you wish.

There's some fantastic ideas here! If I'm cooking it "on its own", then I either boil it in stock (chicken or vegetable, usually) or I add a couple of clove buds and cardomon pods per serving. The latter works really well with curries. Both taste really nice on their own if you add some chopped veg and/or meat in at the…

Another Londoner here. I've been here since August and am proud of the amount I've dropped so far! Feel free to add me too. Good luck!

It depends on why you want to use Slimming World. If it's for the real life* support, then that's good. While MFP is awesome and a good friends list is superb support, I couldn't do this without the physical support my friends and family provide. If it's because you think you will fail because you feel you need a structure…

I purposely took a break over Christmas, so I could enjoy the (very) festive season. I did as well! So while today I've climbed back on the wagon, it was a deliberate easing off and therefore I'm not mad at myself. On the contrary - I did well over December, so am actually pleased with my progress. (Goal: to maintain in…

I would give my best guess and log it. I need as accurate as possible calorie counts for my tracking spreadsheet and a missed hundred kcals here and there would throw the whole thing out.

Another freak here! Logged in at 2k over and, because I'm in the UK, I get to do it all over again tomorrow! Hurrah for Boxing Day! Might go for a wee walk tomorrow though...

Christmas Eve: Roast Pork and all the trimmings (stuffing, homemade apple sauce, yorkshire puddings and steamed veg.) Christmas Day: Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with bucks fizz for breakfast. Then grazing on Dim Sum all day. We've bags of dumplings, ha gow, sui mai and vietnamese spring rolls in the freezer. Plus some…

Yup. Tiny fingers, but chunky. I can't stop looking at my hands now, 30+lb down. I've got two little gaps, close to the palm, where the fingers no longer touch! I've another 60+lb to go, so am hoping they slim down even further.

Eat and drink what I want. But log it all. I've got a spreadsheet calculating all sorts of things (theoretical weight loss, etc) which rely on a full set of data. But I'm not going to let it get in the way of a superb and tasty Christmas!

Tea, red wine, white wine, cider and real ale. Am I proud of this? Darn right I am! In all honesty, I eat a wide variety of foods, especially home-cooked (my recipe list now runs to four pages, and that's only in the last four months). Tea is about the only thing I log every single day. So I'm not too worried that…

I might restrict myself slightly (generally in the alcohol area, I'm getting to an age where I can't handle as much beer as I want now!), but I'm not going to pass over anything because it's too calorific. Eat, drink, be merry and enjoy the company you're with. I weathered the work's Christmas parties (didn't do well, but…

I'll be logging. I'm curious as to whether I can hit 5,500kcal in the one day (enough to put on a lb of fat, if I don't actually do any exercise.)
-
Bacon - claiming vegetarians since Ancient China. OP - sounds delicious. I've never done it myself, but I do have a breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon at least three times a week.

For myself, it was never learning good habits in the first place. I would gain the weight, then basically starve myself on a sub-1000kcal diet (well, I did start in the early nineties - that was the way you did it back then.) I wouldn't learn the good habits and when I eventually fell off the wagon due to being so hungry I…

Fantastic job! I hope to join you in the running ranks soon.

The SO is cooking Lamb in Orange Sauce. I'm not sure what goes in it, apart from Lamb, oranges, onions and courgettes. But it is sure tasty! I'll probably have it with a small serving of cous cous, which is also delicious when cooked in stock.

If I wanted a snack and DGAF (that's didn't give a fudge, yes???): Toasted cheese sarnies. With lots of cheese. Or, my favourite sandwich: Pickled onion omlette butties. With chilli sauce and mayonnaise. Hungry now.

It's very interesting to see the huge variance in dress size for weight - not completely explained by just height either - body frame and how we store fat definitely has a lot to do with it as well. For myself, I've lost 33lb and have yet to go shopping. That's partly because I've a wardrobe full of trousers and dresses…
