Almost a pound a day - a lot of that has to be water retention, if you're okay with your logging. Hopefully you and your doctor will get your medications balanced soon, and you'll be able to drop that gain. In the meantime, it sucks big time, but it's better to be well. Hugs, and good luck.

All the above... - Pictures of me, yuck! - Sweat and chafing (not just thighs, but underboob as well.) - Constantly having drips on the top of my chest because there was so much chest to get a forkful of food over, and it would spill. - Clothes shopping. - Unbearably hot during the summer. the list goes on...

Read this - it will tell you what's going on: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/of-whooshes-and-squishy-fat.html/ It's frustrating - weight loss is not linear and so many things can be masking the true weight loss. But if you're consistent, keep making sure you are in a deficit (you're logging accurately and not…

You and me both - I sit like that all the time now! I've got loads, but my latest is realising that I can wear shirts without them gaping at the bust. I've not worn shirts at all in my professional career - I'm looking a lot smarter at work now!

You can add or edit a previous entry easily. Go to My Home > Check In and scroll to the bottom. There's two links - you want "edit previous entries", then you can add in a date with your starting weight. If you want to edit the weight, you'll need to delete the current start date and re-input.

Informative as always. Thanks for this!

Congratulations and good luck with the new goal! I've done the same thing - three macro goals (under 200lb, under 12 stone (168lb) and 10 stone (140lb) - 38lb / 32lb / 28lb lost) and many micro goals. Keeps me motivated when there's only xlb to the next goal. Hit the last micro-goal last week (UK average BMI) and am now…

Congratulations and welcome to Onederland! Hope you stay here a good long time!

You and me both. I'd finally just started to get good (well, co-ordinated enough not to feel like a fool), and then there it was - the dreaded *ouch*.

I've dieted on and off since the late 80's - almost always ultra-low fat (cf. 1980's...), which put me at over 85% carb. This didn't suit me at all - that level of carbs in my diet meant I was never really full and would get serious sugar crashes. Combined with a very low calorie diet (1,000kcal a day - again, 1980's…

You start with what you're comfortable with, and every week you push to add more. I couldn't do a single sit up when I started last year and I can now.

IDK - mashed potatoes with Guinness sounds lovely. And, in the same vein, am intrigued by the idea of mashed potatoes with marmite. (But there again, I love salad cream spread on cream crackers. So I'm probably not the best judge of what tastes go with what...) OP: Another vote for whatever works for you. Personally, I'd…

Of course, the NHS does place great emphasis on the waist size. They're a bit more draconian though - women's waists ideally should be less than 31.5" and men's less than 37". http://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/849.aspx?CategoryID=51 Due to the dreaded middle aged spread, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get under that again.…

Still waiting for some better photos, but you can probaby tell something in the face from these: Before and During: (May 2013: 238lb and November 2013: 210lb) Two weeks ago: 165lb (total loss to then, 73lb) Pop tarts are totally not my thing. But my diary shows plenty of dark chocolate, biscuits (US: cookies), crisps (US:…

7 weeks to lose the first stone. 10 weeks a piece to lose the next 3 and 18 to lose the last full stone. It's going a lot, lot slower now. *sigh*

Cinnamon cake, washed down with coffee. It's "cake sale for charity" day at work. I got some stick for buying a piece of cake. (Half of it is tucked in my drawer for tomorrow...)

Yeah, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it's going to be a while (if ever) before the brain finally catches up. I've lost 70lb(ish) and I only see it in a mirror if I catch a glimpse of myself. When I turn and look, I still look pretty much the same as before, to me at least. Everyone else notices it straight away.…

Okay, neither skinny/slim nor fit yet, but definitely having some of these problems! I realised this weekend is that I bought some camisole tops to go under a couple of low cut dresses and I now wear them all the time! I would never have done that 70lb ago. I've got to buy some more now. The skinny jeans my partner…

I've gone from UK 38H to a UK 32/34 H. But I have lost a lot of chest, just in proportion with the rest of me. I can no longer wear my bras as hats. Running is easier, though!

Moderation is key. I'm considering this weight loss period as a dry run for maintaining (which is why I've set my daily calories at around what I will be eating in maintenance - nice smooth glide into it!). So I find ways to get the indulgent stuff into my diet, because I'd sure as heck not want to not eat them for the…

Bumping up from 1500 to 2500 kcals that quickly will initially give you some weight gain. If you're logging your 2500 kcals accurately, you'll start to see a good drop in the next few weeks (getting rid of that temporary weight gain) and (I've not run the calcs here so am going from other posters), that should steady out…

Ditto. There's nothing like 'believing there's no way you can' turning into 'of course I can'. Sometimes I think I've just hit on the magic formula for weightloss, it's that simple. Simple not being easy of course - I stil struggle a lot, but knowing where I'm going astray is half the battle. (Knowing what to do about it…

8 weeks in and 14lb lost? You're doing awesomely! (Although can't congratulate you on that, because it's not an NSV  ) My NSV this week is looking great in a circle dress at a summer party. The dress is three sizes smaller than the last one I wore a year ago, and is actually getting a little loose!

Wow - that curry one sounds amazing! I'll have to try it (though we've just run out of cous cous again.) We tend to cook the cous cous in vegetable stock (Marigold bouillion, if you can get it, is delicious), or lemon juice and water. Add some chopped veggies, some chicken and you're done!

Fibre is technically a micronutrient - the macros are how you get the calories you need. Fibre isn't digested so doesn't contribute to the calories required. But yes, fibre is very important in a healthy diet, as well as your other micros (vitamins and minerals).

As above. Also, to get that authentic chinese restaurant taste, add a few splashes of sesame oil when you're frying, and to your noodles or rice. To be honest, the pinch of sugar, light soy sauce and a few splashes of sesame oil make for a lovely, tasty stirfry.

Mine too - they've lost about 20lb and I've lost 70lb. Of course, they've been at maintenance for a while now - but they have additional crisps and snacks, and maintain well on what we eat together.
-
Yup, as others have said - perfectly normal. Yours is fairly dramatic - I tend to lose two or three pounds with each "whoosh". I've worked out my cycle's about 85 days - a steady drop for 6 weeks, a 3-4 week plateau, and then a couple of weeks of whooshes. Inches lost tend to be in the plateau. The culprit is water…

Awesome job so far! Doing amazing - keep up the good work.

I completely ignore the sugar goal on the site - it's completely unrealistic and you're likely counting carbs anyway so there's no point. If trying to stay under the sugar goal is affecting your health, please, please, please ditch it. (I swapped it out for fibre). ETA: To swap out the sugar goal for something else, go "My…
