I had gestational diabetes with my first child and was sent to a nutritionist. There I learned how to balance my calories. My dad was diagnosed with diabetes in his late 40s. I always knew what I needed to do but MFP made it much easier to keep track of what I was doing. I've always stuck with the philosophy that 1-2…

I try to plan out all of my food and exercise in the morning. If it's not on MFP, I don't eat it.

I think you hit the nail on the head. A few years back, my husband actually said to me, "You look good for your age, but I look good." Ok yeah it was kinda a jerky thing to say but he's not normally a jerk, he just says things stupidly every now and then. Maybe he does have a problem with me looking better than him. LOL.

Thank you for the comfort angle. My husband isn't a mean-spirited person and I don't think he's trying to deliberately sabatoge me. He offers bad foods to me all the time. It was harder in the beginning but now I have no trouble saying, "No thanks." He whistles when I walk through a room and tells me often, "Your butt…

If someone comments on my weight loss, I tell them MFP. Otherwise, I don't really say much.

My kids are grown. He loves the new me and keeps calling me "Hot Mama", but I think the insecurity is always there for him. By the way, he looks great for a 54 year old man. He looks better than most guys my age in fact. He's not overweight, he still has all of his hair, and it's not even gone gray at all. I just think he…

When I first started working out, I would sit on the couch and make excuses as to why I couldn't get up. I finally just made myself do it and of course I felt better after working out. Your motivation is you wan't to lose weight and get in shape. Stop making excuses and just do it! You'll be so glad you did.

God bless you honey. Everyone starts somewhere. If you're not comfortable in classes, there are dvds you can do at home. There's also the Couch to 5 K program you can do on your own. I was in horrible shape when I started last year. Everything made me breathless. I just got some Richard Simmons dvds and worked out at home…

I do better when I eat fewer carbs (bread, pasta, rice), but I will never cut them out completely. I know a woman who did the no carb thing. When she started eating normal again, she gained 40 pounds over 6 months. It's not worth it.

That's great. congratulations.

Congratulations. You have done a great job. 25 pounds really makes a difference in how you feel huh?

If you're not losing, try adding another 100-200 calories each day. You may have to play with the numbers a bit to figure out what works for you. I would also keep track of inches. I didn't lose my first month but I dropped a pant size in the same month.

1600-1900 cals a day would be maintenance for me. Make sure you've set your goals to lose and not to maintain.
-
It's a good idea. Your body gets used to whatever your doing. Throwing a few extra calories in won't hurt you and it may rev up your metabolism. Just be careful to keep it to the one day. :)

That's a great idea. Good job!

I usually have a cheat meal, drink a lot of water, and take a break from exercise for 2-3 days. That will generally do the trick.
-
All American. I like it because it's more a family fiitness place than a hard body place. There are people of all different shapes, sizes, ages, and levels of fitness.
-
Do you do strength training? I've had more luck getting my body in proportion with strength training than with cardio. I do both but the inches really came off my waist and hips when I added power pump and boot camp.

I grill chicken or porkchops. I make a side dish for my boys (19 year old son and hubby) and just eat meat and veggies myself. I also make turkey chili. That's really the only kind of food they like. They're not into the whole wheat pasta or grilled fish thing. I also buy frozen pizza, soup, chicken patties for sandwiches,…

By the same token, you're tempting fate when you flirt with single people. What if you wind up talking to someone you really like and then you cross that line? It's safer to just stay away. Watch a movie or chat on facebook if you're bored.

Oh a big thing to help would be to pack her lunch. School lunches put 25 pounds on me. (I'm a teacher). The salad bar may have some stuff on it that's not too healthy or low calorie.

I'm 5'4 and aiming for 125. I reached my goal the week before my hysterectomy this summer, but gained a little back after surgery. I'm at 130 now and a size 6. My body fat percent is low (14.4 %) and measurements are good (35-25-33), but I still have a little stubborn fat on my thighs. I'm still following a 1300-1400…

My daughter was a little pudgy at that age. When she turned 13, however, the tummy redistributed and she was a very cute and curvy girl. She liked her sweets and she wasn't a very active person. I would suggest just making healthy meals and maybe taking family walks or doing family activities that get them moving. You have…

Ok her boobs are as big as my head. I can't tell how skinny she is cuz the eyes are definitely not drawn to her waist.
-
My husband and son both like curvy and toned. They don't like fat and they don't like skinny. They prefer an hour-glass figured woman without too many muscles.
-
You need to eat at least 1200 calories a day. Your metabolism will slow down if you don't.
-
It takes awhile to get used to the new body. You'll get there. Look at your before pictures frequently and you'll definitely see the change.
-
Eat frequently and exercise. Also, eat as much as you can while still losing weight. You'll be amazed at how your metabolism increases if you do these things.

I get really tired from my job. I usually go to the gym on Saturday and Sunday. Then, I do some exercise dvds at home Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. I'm still getting lots of exercise and still using my gym membership in a way that makes me feel like it's not going to waste.

You have to decide how badly you need the money. My dad has provided money to my daughter to help her with expenses while she's away at college. She gripes to me about the lectures he gives her or how much he wants to control her life. I basically told her that when you take the money from someone, you have to put up with…
