There seem to be quite a few replies in here that are overlooking the important fact that the OP is male.

As a male, your minimum is 1500, and given your stats that may be too low as well. You are setting yourself up to lose more muscle than you would if you set a more reasonable calorie goal.

Those "As seen on TV" waist trainers that I see in Walmart.

Along with this book, her book The Diet Trap is a good read as well. It goes over some of the same things as the Beck Diet Solution but mainly focuses on different traps that we may fall in while losing weight (Emotional eating, dealing with family, falling off track, just to name a few).

My former best friend sold Mary Kay and pushed really hard to get me to join her team. At that point I had never purchased anything from her or tried any of their products. It was all about recruiting to get to the next level. She also went on to try to sell Thirty-One bags and the last time I had contact with her she was…

I shop a lot at Torrid. I usually wait until I get coupons or they have a BOGO sale to buy stuff. Their jeans are comfortable and actually sit where they are supposed to so I don't have to worry about what my boyfriend calls 'plumber's booty'. I find their clothes fit well with my personality/style so that's a big plus for…

The Crochet Crowd on YouTube is where I learned how to crochet. I usually stick with simple things but it's fun.

Right now I'm working my way through NCIS. One of my favorites that I haven't seen mentioned yet is Wentworth.

I went from having it open to friends, to setting it to private, and just opened it up back to friends a few months ago. I had someone leave a comment where they compared what I was eating (canned chicken that I put in a salad) to dog food. After that I found myself not being honest with my logging because I didn't want to…

Your diary is set to private.

Why would it get too messy? Put a plate or bowl on the scale, tare it, and add your food. If you are putting more than one item on the plate, just tare it again and weigh it. Repeat as necessary. Along with the food scale, make sure that you are using accurate food entries in the database. That means no entries labeled…

I don't think the Truvia is the problem. What you may want to do is adjust your expectations. With only 10 pounds to lose .5 pounds a week is a good rate of loss.

US Army 2000-2005 & 2006-2010. I started as a 71L (Admin Specialist) and then became a 42A (Human Resources Specialist) when they made some changes. I was stationed at Stuttgart Germany under 1st PERSCOM; 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division at Ft. Drum, NY; and 82nd Sustainment Brigade at Ft. Bragg, NC. Three OIF…

I was 16. The gun was a .22.

Just because someone mentions that they don't eat clean doesn't mean that they advocate eating all junk. When I have seen trainers recommend what ninerbuff is talking about they usually tell their clients they can set aside a certain amount of calories for things like chocolate or cake. It's about setting up something…

Could be. It's one of the forums that I really don't pay much attention to.

Where was this announcement? If it was on your own newsfeed then it might be a good idea to take a look at your friends list and see when the last time they logged in. I'm sure that probably has a lot to do with a lack of a reaction. As for the ones that are active, there is no guarantee that they seen it. Depending on…

It looks like they are going to do some research to see if there is a better way of determining BF%. I doubt anything will come of it. http://www.armytimes.com/story/military/careers/army/2016/02/10/sergeant-major-army-order-review-tape-test-response-soldier-complaints/80027440/

Just popping in to leave this study... http://jama.jamanetwork.com/article.aspx?articleid=2108876 OP if you don't like it, then don't use one. I've had mine for almost four years now and I like it. My main reason for purchasing it was to motivate me to remain active during the day, not just during the one hour I spend at…

I think the hard part that many people who fall for stuff like what is in the OP struggle with is taking personal responsibility. It's a lot easier to blame the food industry for what they put in the food than it is to accept personal blame.

I like the show, especially when the trainers do their first workout with their client and gets an idea of what their client is feeling.

Another option is if you use the app you can set reminders.

This and her song Dear Future Husband. I haven't cussed out my radio this much since Toby Keith made me break a clock radio.

I just started using Trendweight to track my daily weigh ins. It gets recommended a lot on here and so far I really like it.

There are a lot of people who ask for reviews after buying a product. I have never understood this. Why wait until after you have purchased something to find out if it actually works? This is the only place I have seen it done this way. There are still people in this world that don't believe everything that they read on…

Along with a food scale you need to make sure that the entries that you use are correct. Read the "Logging Accurately" post in the Most Helpful Announcement at the top of this forum.

I agree with this. Current weight also plays a factor in your calorie goal so it will help you set that as well. Just look at it as a data point.

If I feel the need to have a cold sweet treat I like the Talenti Roman Raspberry Sorbetto. It's sweet enough that one serving is satsifying and only 120 calories (and only 4 ingredients for those who are worried about that kind of thing). I have found for me trying to trick myself into thinking that a mashed up banana is…

I think the flowchart is a lot more useful. At least that gives more specific solutions than the generic one you are passive aggressively trying to get across.
