OP I am the same height as you and one of the most annoying problems that I have is trying to find jeans that are long enough in the torso. I have found that the jeans at Torrid fit great for me, but with them being a plus size store I won't be fitting in them for long (I'm a size 12 and that is their smallest size).

It's not uncommon for there to be a longer time frame for results that they are claiming. I've also heard where progress pictures have been reversed so what you think is a 'before' is really 'after'.
-
Along with the great advice about taking progress pictures, I will add some more tips. Some of them are repeats of what has already been said, but I just did a copy and paste from a blog post I wrote about taking pictures. 1. Make sure that you wear something fitting that will show your shape. Baggy clothing may hide…

I would suggest taking measurements once a month along with taking pictures only once a month. And be patient. It takes some time to really see noticeable results.
-
I would suggest that if it's something that you are interested that you should do the math first. I was just invited to one a few days ago but turned it down after figuring out that I would need drop my calories to 900 a day just to have a chance of getting my money back.

I weigh daily and I'm the type of person who is able to just log it and move on with my day. It's just a point on a data chart. I haven't always been like that though. When I was doing WW a bad weigh in would be enough to leave me in tears, especially when the leader would have no explanation for it other than "It just…

No shame in what I weigh (currently 196) but I keep it to myself because when people know it and that I am trying to lose weight, they get the impression that it's an opening to insert their opinion on how I'm going about doing things (and some try to sell me stuff). My boyfriend knows but that's because he's the only one…

I weigh daily. I find that if I don't everything else (logging, exercising, caring about losing weight) tends to go to the wayside.
-
If you aren't using a food scale or accurate entries from the database it's very easy to wipe out your deficit. I suggest setting your diary to public so people will be able to help you.

Activity level isn't based on exercise, but how active you are in your day to day life. How much weight do you have to lose? Aiming for two pounds a week may be too aggressive.

Comparison is the thief of joy. I think it's been mentioned already, but I'm willing to bet that these women are not taking their body composition or bf % into consideration when choosing a goal. Keep doing what you are doing and you can always reevaluate your goals once you get to your current goal weight and don't worry…

I'm sure that once you get there you will find that your assumptions are wrong. I live in a college town and the gym I go to has a lot of student members. They are no different than other people there. They are in all shapes and sizes and wear what they are comfortable in. If you feel uncomfortable with the equipment, it…

As a male you shouldn't be eating less than 1500 calories a day. I'm not even sure if MFP would let you set your goal to 1200.
-
I would be direct and let them know that unless they are asking for advice, your eating habits and weight are not up for discussion. Also make sure that you are not the one bringing it up. People will take that as an opening to be able to make the kind of comments that are bothering you.

I find logging on here to be a lot less tedious than when I was logging on WW.
-
I used to do WW and got sick of their tracking too. It wasn't that I was tired of tracking in general but because their database was horrible and their barcode scanner didn't work half of the time. Maybe that's what OP meant. OP one thing that is important is to make sure that you log everything, including fruits and…

Be careful about this on here. By asking for a wellness coach you will probably be flooded with PM's from "coaches" wanting to sell you shakes, fixes, and exercise DVD's.
-
Taking progress pictures once a month may also help. Sometimes it's hard to see any difference when we look in the mirror everyday.

Make sure that you double check the information on the package with what is on MFP. I've come across a few items that were inaccurate when scanning them. When it comes to things like meat and produce, you need to make sure that you are using the correct entries. If you weigh it raw, then use the entry that says it's raw.…

If it bothers you that much, find another way to get home. You can't expect friends or coworkers to change how they do things to accommodate your weight loss journey.
-
The more you track on here the easier it gets because you are adding more items to your recent and frequent food lists. What has helped me a lot is saving meals. My salads are usually the same so the basic things like the veggies and chicken that I put in them are saved as a meal so it only takes one click to add multiple…

I just tried PB2 a few days ago. I would rather take the calorie hit with the real stuff.

The last time I bought jeans at Old Navy the lady in the dressing room told me to grab several pairs of the same size. She said that even if they are the same size and same cut one they still may not fit the same.

I've been drinking it black for over 16 years now. It took a little getting used to at first but if you make it right and use good coffee it will be a lot more enjoyable.

My boyfriend has been quite supportive of me through both the highs and lows I've gone through since I have started this process. He suggests more active things for us to do together. Instead of just sitting around watching TV we go for walks. He sends me cheesy motivational memes as a way to cheer me on. He isn't afraid…

There are several things that can cause this. Two of the most common ones are not accurately measuring out your portions and using inaccurate entries in the database. You should be weighing all solids. Read the "Most helpful" announcements on this board and the Getting Started board, use a food scale, and give it a few…

Those other programs also give you a smaller calorie goal to make up for the "free" fruit and veggies, and they do limit the amount that you can have. A lot of people make the mistake in thinking that free means unlimited amount.
-
Along with using a food scale you need to make sure that you are using accurate food entries from the database. Don't use homemade entries that you didn't create yourself. You have no idea what ingredients were used or how big the serving size is compared to what you ate. This link will help you find the correct entries:…

When it comes down to it you can't expect a loss every week, no matter how perfect you think your week was. Water weight can play a big role in weight fluctuations. New or upping the intensity of workouts, hormones (are you due for your period soon?) can cause you to retain water and mask fat loss. It also wouldn't hurt to…

I don't log my morning coffee (I drink it black), Diet Pepsi, or any seasonings and spices I use. I have thought about logging the pop and seasonings just to get an idea of the sodium, but I just make a mental note of it.
