You are losing at a good pace. I agree that your expectations need to be adjusted. I'm also wondering about your exercise calories. How long do you exercise for and where are you getting your numbers from?
-
They use points because it's 'easier' (more like easier for them to make money). They are able to make fruits & veggies 0 points by cutting down the calorie goal. For example when I was on WW I would average 1,000 calories before adding in fruits and veggies.

They have other items that are only sold at meeting places like powdered shake mix, snack bars, oatmeal, and other snack items. They also have non food items like tracking kits, exercise videos, food scales, etc. Some locations do tend to push those food items more than others.

I watched all of NCIS and I'm on season 3 of Criminal Minds. Both are really good.

It was my understanding that it would not give a man a goal below 1500. That's why I figured there was a glitch somewhere. Sorry if I'm wrong or caused any confusion.
-
I never said 1200 was a reasonable goal for you or any other man. What I said was that there may be a glitch in the calculator that needs to be addressed to MFP so that they are aware of it and can fix it.
-
I would suggest taking a screen shot of that and send it to customer support so they know there is an issue since it shouldn't go below 1500 for men. I know that you know better than to eat that low but it makes me wonder how many men are eating 1200 because that's the goal they were given. It happened before when there…

Something else to keep in mind, your heart is a muscle and with you having heart issues as it is you are definitely not doing yourself any favors.

I did a lot of lurking when I first joined and while there was an overload of information and conflicting advice, I kept reading and paid attention to who has been around for awhile and gives sensible advice. It helped cut through a lot of the bad info that I have seen come and go. Reading the posts in the 'Most Helpful'…

Also, be patient. If not losing weight for 3 days is making you frustrated and discouraged it might be good for you to either weigh once a week or educate yourself about fluctuations and track your weight on another site like Happy Scale or Trend Weight.
-
I would suggest tracking on both apps for a few weeks. It might seem like it's a lot of work but it's worth it. It was a real eye opener for me because I found that I was averaging about 1,000 calories on WW. I didn't even make it two weeks of double tracking before I canceled my WW membership.

I just finished Nurse Jackie last week and Season 4 of Wentworth over the weekend (I had to binge that one). I really liked Borgia. There are two different versions on there. The Netflix one was really good. I couldn't get into the Showtime one.

They aren't specifically weight loss experts, but when it comes to info on general health and wellness I would add Food Babe and David Wolfe to the list of the worst out there.

It took me a few weeks for me to adjust from WW to MFP since I was eating more following calories (I was averaging 1,000 a day on WW). Just keep going, don't forget to weigh and log your fruits and veggies, and use that food scale for all solids.
-
Come on now don't be ridiculous. The only appropriate time to wear black socks is with sandals.
-
OP, one thing to mention, if you do want to log your exercise you can. You just need to make sure that you get the start time and duration of exercise correct. It will override the calorie burn from the Fitbit so it doesn't count it twice. Personally I like to let the Fitbit do its job and log it for me. It decreases the…
-
This. For me the whole point of having a Fitbit is so I can have it do the exercise logging for me. With my Alta it can identify what exercise I'm doing, so I have a log of what I did, the calorie burn, and duration on the Fitbit app.
-
What is your current calorie goal? If it's not 1200, when is the last time you made sure it was updated?
-
I started with the Zip and I now have the Alta. Both are great and give me the info I want. I bought my Alta a few months ago at Target and it came with a $20 gift card. I'm not sure if they are still doing that but it would be worth looking into.
-
Stop counting and measuring and weigh all solids. Also make sure that you are using correct entries in the database. There are a lot of incorrect and outdated entries that you may be using. Instead of cheating on the weekends, pick one day or one meal and make sure that you are still within your calorie goal (or at least…

As far as the shirtless running goes, I really don't think much of it. If that is how they are comfortable, then more power to them. I live in a college town and it's pretty common to see shirtless runners near campus or in the neighborhoods where the frat houses are. I'm sure I've been judged for what I wear while working…

When people say that you are eating too much they don't mean to reduce your calorie intake. I can see why you interpreted it that way. It would be nice if people went into a little more detail instead of leaving a one sentence comment. What is meant is that while you think that you are eating 1200-1300 calories, you are…

I third it. They are comfortable and light enough to not be an issue with heat. I also like that I don't feel exposed when wearing a shorter dress or skirt.

Of course she doesn't have to, but it would be a big benefit for her to do so. Good luck to her.

As a person loses weight and their body burns less, the less of a margin of error they have to work with. Sloppy logging and estimating may not be an issue for them in the beginning when they are able to have a larger margin of error. That can change as their weight does. The only other advice that I can give is to have…

This. As far as what can cause them, you would be surprised at how many people swear up and down that they are doing everything right and logging everything only to have their diary reflect something different.
-
If you do weigh it then your log should reflect that. My 'medium' apples average about 120 calories.

I tried it and I wasn't very impressed with it. It might be good for someone just starting out though. I just found the resistance of the machines to be minimal for me and I didn't feel like I really worked out afterwards.
