I keep my kitchen scale on my counter where I prepare my food. Having it in plain sight can be a helpful reminder.

If you are looking for a variety of recipes Skinnytaste.com is a good place to start.

I think it's more important to have a diet (noun) that is sustainable and that includes your calorie goal. We all want fast results but losing in a healthy manner trumps that. If you find yourself being too restrictive it may lead to a binge and/or quitting later on. Find a balance (I like the 80/20 guideline myself) and…

I wasn't too thrilled with PB2. The taste isn't too bad but the texture just didn't do it for me. I'm just using it with my protein shake till it's gone.

OP I think that a lot of your has to do with what I bolded. You mentioned that you are on a lot of different sites all related to your weight loss. If you spend a lot of time talking about weight loss it may be causing to burn yourself out as well. Having an outlet to be able to connect to others or be able to get your…

Why not eat a small meal or snack before going over there? That way you can still eat with them, have smaller portions, and still be satisfied.

And other sites. When I first started using MFP again back in 2013 I remembered OP from her username/picture on WW having the same problems and using the same excuses.

I liked the index card idea (I have my whys saved on my phone) and I recommend it a lot to people who have a hard time staying on track. It's not obsessive at all, just a way to keep your eye on the prize when temptation is calling or motivation is lacking. Her book isn't going to work for everyone but I enjoyed it. I just…

It's even more irritating when after being told that it's temporary water weight they still allow it to discourage them and they still panic. When women say TOM instead of period it kind of irks me. It's like we have to use a secret acronym to describe a natural bodily function because it's taboo or emabarassing to talk…

Here on MFP I can't stand it when people give advice based on how they assume things work on here. For example I seen someone advising others that in order to lose weight they have to burn off all of the calories they eat thru exercise because that is what is working for him. In real life, I can't stand the MLM pushers. I…

If they are not taking no for an answer then I would talk to my supervisor or HR.

If your goal is fat loss, you will need a deficit. Weight loss happens in the kitchen. Your post is all about the exercise so I'm wondering how much of your focus is on your diet (noun). In order to know that you are in a calorie deficit you will need to do two things: weigh you food with a kitchen scale and make sure that…

I was just told a few days ago that I'm wrong for not eating before working out in the morning because if I did eat I would burn more calories. It doesn't matter what you do, someone will tell you that you are wrong.

I smile and nod unless they are trying to push their woo on me. I had a friend selling a detox tea and I shut that down before she got a chance to convince me to buy it.

Measuring cups aren't going to be as accurate, but if that's all you can do then don't worry too much about it. Just make sure not to pack it in and don't fill it to the brim. I would just keep your gym time to 60-90 minutes. If you are active outside of that then don't count it against that time. I was in the Army. Keep…

I think you would be good doing 60-90 minutes a day, 5-6 days a week. Make sure to get in at least one rest day to make sure your body has some time to heal. Here is the link to the Logging Accurately thread. What I mean by avoiding those generic entries is that there is more of a chance of them being inaccurate.…

If your plan is to join the military the last thing you want to do is go on a crash diet and lose more muscle mass than you normally would. Basic Training is grueling enough, you don't want to make it worse on yourself. If you are getting the pressure from a recruiter to lose fast, I suggest either ignoring their…

Ok but how do you know it's 3 oz? Are you using a food scale to verify that?
-
Your calorie goal already has a deficit built into it so you would still lose on 1200 even without exercise. There is no reason for you to go lower than that. I suggest being a little more patient and read the helpful posts announcements on here and the Getting Started forum.

You keep saying that you watch your portions but you don't say how.
-
I was wondering about this too. Other than the regular college students that are back from winter break my gym has been pretty empty up until today. ETA: maybe more people are opting to workout at home.
-
I looked it up and it airs in a few weeks. Each week they are going to have a trainer gain and then lose weight with a client.

I was wondering how this show was going to be. I will have to see if it is On Demand. Fit to Fat to Fit is the one that I'm really interested in watching. I just can't remember when and what channel it is supposed to be on.

How much weight do you have to lose? Changing it to 1 or 1.5 pounds a week will give you more calories to eat.
-
With MFP they expect you to eat your calories back so you are still under for the day. Even if you ate 1350 and didn't exercise you would still be in a deficit since that is built into your calorie goal. Maybe it would be a good idea to read the announcements in here and the Getting Started forum so you have a better idea…

Their choice of what machine they use may have something to do with what is on tv. That's what I usually do but if someone is in "my spot" then I will pick another one where I have some distance but can still see what I want to watch.

I have to deal with it each time I visit my parents. I have to tell my stepdad no about 5 times (each time with increasing volume) before he gets off my case about getting a second plate of food.
-
I went from 162 to 185 in about 2 1/2 months due to emotional eating and a big decrease in activity.

Someone may take that sugar line as an opportunity to critique your diet (noun) or they might think you are laying on a guilt trip for them having it. Just say no.

The pound cake was always my favorite.
