First of all, you have to realise it will take time. But you have time on your side :) Alot of whats been written above is true for the most part, but if you want to keep it simple, then start by following some basic rules. First, work out what your Daily Calorie Intake should be for your age, height, sex - e.g. 2500 per…

My advice would be to change your training routine. Chances are your body has become used to what your doing and can cope with it. First, choose your goal: Lose body fat or Gain muscle? Very hard to do both at the same time. Second, use a routine to get you to your goal. For me, if I want to lose body fat, I usually do the…

I do a fair bit of HIIT, and have found it to be very effective. However I do use a structured session rather than trying to do it on my own. Last year I did the 30 Shred, and dropped about 6lbs in weight, but more importantly became a lot fitter and more toned. I did do this alongside other training however, including…

800 is way too low. Your body will go into starvation mode. You NEED to eat at least 1500 a day! The MFP goal you see is your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate), which means that in order for your body to be awake, you are supposed to meet that goal. Not everyone does this granted, but 800 per day is far too low. All that happens…

Why are you lifting?...Do you weigh/log everything? Are you sticking to a 500Cal minimum daily deficit? Best advice: Stop lifting. Do 30 days of cardio (30 Day Shred is a good place to start), Stick to a Calorie deficit Diet. Eat balanced. Eat every 2-3 hours. (Bfast>Fruit snack>Lunch>Fruitsnack>Dinner>Protein…

To be honest, I have replaced bread with "Wraps", (tortillas/Flatbreads). A general slice of whole wheat bread is approx 110-140 cals. One 'wrap' can be around the same. So if you are making a sandwich, you are going to use 2 slices of bread (250 cals) whereas with a wrap, u can put in the same amount of filling and half…

my lowest weight has been 182lbs, and i'm in 34inch waist jeans (UK size). 32 inch are still too tight to feel comfortable. I reckon I need to be at around 170lbs, plus doing more exercise on my midriff.

For me, Lean, Defined and Fit, getting a bit old tho nowadays, but we can dream :) For women, VS/Athletic does it for me. Not too skinny, prefer some curves :) Kelly Brook has the ideal figure in my eyes.

Hey Threnjen :) Been reading through your post and replies etc. And I can understand where you are coming from. I started on the Weight loss journey on 25th Feb 2012, my Girlfriends birthday. I weighed around 19 stones, thats just under 300lbs. Over the last 2 years or so, I have been through various dieting methods, most…

I lived my dream job for 25 years - British Soldier. I would do it all again in a heartbeat :) But if I were to choose something else, I guess it would be to work somewhere like Blizzard, and be involved in the development for World Of Warcraft, or other Gaming genres. Unfortunately, I'm not that clever, which is why I…

Perhaps, if you can not find a Study/Evidence, then do one. You have obviously had a weight loss journey, and have probably met a number of people who have gone through the same. Use your own personal experiences, and the experiences of others to find the evidence. Perhaps involve people on a "fad" diet also, so you can…

To increase you speed per mile, one of the better methods is to tackle each mile in turn. SO start by focusing on Mile 1. Get that to where you can complete it comfortably in say 8 mins. Then focus on the next mile, and try to do the same. And so on. Ideally you want to keep you Mile average to somewhere around your first…
