"Safe"?, maybe. Effective and The Right Thing To Do? ...Probably not. Detox teas, as everyone else said, are just diuretics, meaning you'll pee and (other things) more but it's only a temporary fix as you'll just be dehydrating yourself. @IsaackGMOON is right when he asks if you're properly weighing/measuring your foods.…

Awesome, awesome, awesome stuff Shannon! Great advice. There is a quote by George Bernard Shaw that says And I think you embody that in your response. You lost weight by choosing to be a healthier person and your body just caught up to your decision. You created a healthier you.. That's great stuff Shannon. Congrats! Steve…

Mindful eating.. Great suggestion Julie. I hear that a lot. Being mindful of your eating habits really goes a long way. You don't have to deprive yourself of foods, just be mindful of what you're eating and the amount. Great tip. And yes, moving your *** helps Cipher  So mindful eating and moving.. anymore tips…

Hey guys, I train and coach a handful of clients here in the Bay Area, and have helped them achieve (and maintain) their weight loss and health goals. But now I want to figure out a way to help even more people, not just in my neighborhood. Here's where you come in. If you're interested in weight loss (or muscle gain,…

Thanks for the well wishes! :) I'm exited to be engaged to such a wonderful woman. Now...regarding your rotator cuff issues.. The rotator cuff is primarily made up of tendons - which means they receive less blood supply than your muscles - which means they don't heal as well. Seeing as how you feel it's torn more since the…

Before I answer this question, I want to let it be known that I don't necessarily endorse this kind of training for the average person. However, based on facts and science, this is the answer to your question.. The answer to getting smaller calves... ...long distance endurance training. While I don't recommend this for…

Thanks for the comment and congratulations on your own success!

Hi there! While I haven't read this particular book, I am a big proponent of weight lifting for weight loss, more so than I am of cardio. I wouldn't say it's "silly" per say to do upper body strength training, (I've seen "sillier" things), but instead of that may I recommend doing body weight exercises for your lower body…

Hi Kat, This seems to be a recurring question. Stay tuned, I'll be answering this in an upcoming video. Verner

Hi, yes i have a little familiarity with the popliteus muscle.. I'm assuming you feel pain on the medial side (inside) of your knee? (typical area for pain) If so, it's probably a tendonitis (meaning inflammation of the tendon and not necessarily the muscle itself). Gentle stretching, massage, and anti-inflammatory…

Hi Jill, Good question.. I think this is something a lot of people have misconstrued because there are so many different factors when it comes to fitness. "Eating back your calories" I think comes from a standpoint of maintaining your weight and muscle mass..kind of a bodybuilder thing...BUT, when it comes to a weight loss…

Yes, a protein powder or shake would be a great supplement to your diet. There are a lot of different types/quality of protein out there... Syntha -6 is probably up there in quality. Muscle Milk is great too. There are also, hemp based proteins if that's more your thing.

one more thing.. exercise is very beneficial and is an integral part of a healthy lifestyle.. it becomes UNhealthy when it becomes extreme or interferes with your normal bodily functions (ie hormone pathways), or could potentially hurt you long-term.

Hi Graelwyn75, Great questions. :) I'll try my best.. 1- It sounds like you're a pretty hard worker and I would suspect that your body is pretty use to training at a lower lung capacity, so I don't think it has much to do with your COPD. I suspect that when you get back into working out hard, your body just responds well.…

Hey Kathy, I have a few clients with bad shoulders and even if you don't have a bad shoulder now, it's important to keep up the strength and stability of the shoulder joint. This is a great site and shows a ton of exercises you can do to strengthen your shoulders.…

Could be a shoe problem.. One foot might be bigger /wider than the other, maybe check out the fit of your shoes.

Dr. Stuart McGill is an expert in spinal biomechanics, and when dealing with diabetic neuropathy it's best to play it safe with your spine and nervous system.. Check out McGill's stuff on Youtube ("McGill crunch) to see demos on how to perform the exercise right. McGill's stuff is great and probably up your alley.

Exactly. It's a great tool for both client and trainer to both review together.

True, women naturally carry fat differently. However, if your goal is to see your abs, I don't think it's unreasonable to lower your body fat percentage as long as it's done within a safe and healthy range. Also, you can definitely continue to drop fat without starving yourself.

Squats and Cable Kickbacks. But here's a little trick..... Partial reps.
