Did it work for you?
-
I'm 5'5 and 136.

I've been up and down on calories. For awhile I was doing 1200 and I was losing (lost 8 pounds) and then I hit a plateau and started gaining again. So I came to these boards and many thought 1200 was too low so I started doing TDEE at 1550 (not deducting exercise calories) but I haven't lost. Now I'm trying this.

Anyone?

125 is my ideal weight. I was that size about five years ago and it was comfortable. For a minute I got down to 117 but I looked sickly. I have a medium build, right now I'm 136 abs in size 4 pants.

For example, snack 1/4 cup of granola often turns in 1 cup or 1 1/2 cups.

Sadly, I do as well and I still just keep on snacking :(

I do Zone Protein Bars Monday through Friday (I keep them at work) and on the weekends I've been eating Nature Valley Dark Chocolate and Peanuts Protein Bars, there is a little less protein in them at 10 grams I think.

bump - to read later :)
-
Really, a protein shake before bed? I've never thought of that, I generally don't eat after 7ish.
-
Thanks everyone for the input :)

I don't actually use protein powder. My morning shake has carnation powder which has a variety of nutrients with a banana and fat free milk while my lunch shake is spinach, strawberries, bananas, greek yogurt and almond milk. I do have a protein bar post workout though.

I'm kind of wondering if I will feel a little bit more "fueled" (or energized) if I eat something before I work out because right now I kind of feel like a zombie during the week but on the weekends I'm able to focus and get a better workout. Maybe I will try some toast with peanut butter in tomorrow :).
-
This is probably a dumb question, but why would actual food with protein give me different results then a shake with the same amount?
-
I just started dabbling in green shakes, I've been drinking a banana, strawberry, almond milk, spinach shake and since I just bought a bag of spinach from Costco that will last the better part of the next 5 years I think I will be having spinach variation shake for a while :). *edit* shake also has greek yogurt it in for…

Thanks for the tips! I do much of that, this is pretty much my days Monday through Friday (the weekend they differ due to different schedule): 5:30 a.m. - Gym 7:00 a.m. - Get to work, eat protein bar 7:30 a.m. - Drink coffee (a must have) 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. - Drink breakfast shake 12:00 p.m. - Lunch (around 400…

hahaha, I don't normally have oatmeal for dinner but my daughter wanted it (she is 3) and I didn't feel like having a fight so oatmeal it was! As of late my normally has been: Breakfast: Chocolate Carnation mixed with a banana, 1 cup of skim milk and some ice. Along with a chocolate protein bar in the morning after I…

As the OP it's probably fair that I give mine ;)....So I'm not exactly strength training yet, I'm trying to work myself up to that so I created a 30 day plan of incremental increases in crunches, leg raises, planking, push-ups, and squats. Each day I'm still either doing 20 minutes on the treadmill or 30 minutes on the…

I created a monthly calendar in excel and put my goals for each day, such as Treadmill - 15 minutes, 7 mph, calorie goal 250. However, it really wasn't ideal then I found PanPlanner, an Android app that allows me to do this and I can check them off as I complete. I use MFP to track my calories. Edit - In MFP I started…

I found a full body 30 day challenge on Pinterest and then I used that and a 30 day ab challenge to create a plan that is realistic for me. I pretty much stuck to the ab challenge but I cut a lot out of the full body because it wasn't realistic for me. So far I've just put the list of daily exercises on an excel calendar…

*bump....want to see if there are any suggestions for this, I made an excel calendar but it's not idea :(
-
Thanks for the other options! Next question, any good Android apps that could do something like this?

Nevermind....found one! http://www.pinterest.com/pin/192177109074116941/

I agree, sports does pose a greater risk for injury. My mom threw her back out lifting so that's why I'm a little reluctant to just jump in to that. She didn't have the form right and was lifting too much and was alone, granted there are a lot of flags there it still makes me nervous none the less. Her back was never right…

Ultimately I will probably get a trainer to help but I don't know when I can afford one and I don't want to keep using that as my excuse.
-
Honestly, I'm really nervous to use those weights because I'm too scared I will hurt myself. Will I not see the same results using machines that I can control a little easier?
-
Thanks! I guess I just wanted to make sure the equipment I'm using is a step in the right direction :)
-
I would also imagine no gym those days?

Interesting comments on fasting, I've never considered it to be honest. Do you feel really drained the two or three days you fast?
