  • 1200 calories is do-able.... All it takes is some good planning. I love the 80 cal. greek yogurts - You can add in 1/3 cup Uncle Sam Original Cerial - for a total of 144 calories (Great fiber & protein). Find something that you like and will stick with you.. I love to eat 1/4 cup oatmeal, with PB2 and a tablespoon of…
  • I use peanut butter in my oatmeal. Hey, try it with the whole egg & see if you like. Just remember there is a lot of cholesterol in the egg yolk. I have ate scrambled egg & Grits together, but never heard of egg in oatmeal. I'm originally from MD. So I know its not a Yankee thang & I live in Ga, so not a southern thang…
  • I was in a relationship with a man for 7 years. I loved him. I thought for the most part we had a great relationship.... Until I found out he was in an intimate relationship with my best friend (Beverly)- who was closer than a sister. I spent nights with her, helped her on Christmas Eve to put her kids toys together and…
  • I do what some of the others suggested - pre log. Because I work a desk job, Mon-Friday, there are 1 or 2 things I pretty much eat for breakfast that I love and is good for you. Same thing with my snacks. I have this website up at my work and log on on my breaks and lunch to add anything. I have dreaded logging in the…
  • It's definitely worth going to a store that someone will watch how you walk (very important) I have flat feet and I am a over pronator. I also have some extra weight on me. If you are serious about running - invest in the shoes.... Also I like to get the socks that keep the sweat from your feet, the ones that have tighter…
  • How tall are you? I am 5'9, weight 195 and wear size 14.
  • This Girl's on Fire by Alicia Keys....
  • I am going to accept this Burpee challenge - though before today I have never heard that name??!!? Gonna get started on mine - as soon as I lock the dogs in another room - otherwise it would be a game.
  • I eat a serving of carrot sticks and 2 servings of green olives. 85 calories. I love the crunchy and the saltiness of the olives.
  • Hi there, I am 44 and would love to be in with you all. I still have 30 lbs to lose and would appreciate the motivation. Have a great day.... Angi
  • I have a Boykin, He loves children. This breed was suggested for families. Boykins are also hunters, they have a soft bite. Kobe finds turtles in the back wood all the time - I never see any. Very highly intelligible breed. Eager to please.
  • Hi Kelly, I was one of those people who complained about being fat, would start something and do good for a while, but never stuck with it. MFP is the ONLY one I have been consistent with journaling and exercising, and my weight is consistently going down as well. I used to just walk my dogs, but now I walk and run with…
  • These are just a few of my recommendations. I would say taking a multi-viatmin daily. Because if your lacking in just one little area, normally it affects more than just that one small area. Drinking 8+ glasses of water a day. Don't skip meals - especially breakfast, if possible eat 5 small meals a day. Watch your sodium.…
  • Good evening.... Unless you starved yourself and lost your 4 lbs that way - then yes it is very unhealthy and dangerous, but if you made better choices with your food and exercised, then 4 lbs is an awesome great first week loss. Of course it all depends on your weight. I understand why your friends were negative - because…
  • I want to lose weight for several reasons.... I have scoliosis and Plantarfacitis and when I have more weight on me, It really bothers me - to the point of getting cortisone shots in my back and feet. Since I have lost, my back is a little tender in the morning and my feet are tender after a run, but with more weight loss,…
  • That does happen - but it won't every week. You have a great eating schedule and then you blow it. I think it confuses your body. When I am at a plateau and can't seem to lose, I will eat something I normally don't - like a slice of cake and that seems to get my body out of it's normal zone and it gets things rolling. It's…
  • Food is a comfort to us - at all times. It makes me feel good eating something delicious, it doesn't judge us, doesn't argue back. Food is a friend. One thing that has been consistent with me losing weight on MFP is journaling -Of course I have had a couple of weeks I gained. You have to substitute something else for the…
  • My first day went really well. I already planned out last night what I was going to eat today. Drinking lots of water helped keep my stomach full. A few times, I had the urge to snack - I really wasn't hungry. I resisted though because I had my planned out snacks. Busy day, I worked 8 hours, then I have an online class and…
  • For me, If I write it down or say it aloud, then it's almost as if I have to do. Yesterday I had a plan for today to get up early and do some walk/running with my dogs. I was supposed to get up at 5:00a.m Eastern time, but my little pup has not realized the time change, so I was up at 4:45am. I was able to have plenty of…
  • Thanks for adding me..... To make sure I start this challenge off right, I will be getting up a few min. earlier tomorrow morning since time has changed and it will be light out and throwing in some running while walking my dogs. I also plan to get my food together for tomorrow lunch and snacks. I hope everyone has a plan…
  • I would love the challenge! Count me in..... Thanks,
  • Hi Rita, I read your message and first wanted to say wow on your son. What a blessing! We tend to take care of others first and then years later look in the mirror and wonder how we got to this point. I know that we cannot keep being defeated. Add me as a friend - if you want.... : ) Angi
  • I am interested if you still have room. I work at a hospital and want to get my co-workers involved in a weight or fitness challenge, but I know they will start, but then slack off. I love challenges. I have started training for the 5K Jingle Bell Jog in December, so the motivation would be great.
  • Coffee - of course, and a small spinach, egg beater, mushroom and pinch of cheese muffin, with 2 tbls. of salsa on top. Then a couple of hours later, I ate a package of oatmeal, w/ walnuts.
  • My goal by Christmas would be to lose 20 lbs., paint the inside of house and to have my official "YOU HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED" into the Nursing Program letter in hand.
  • I ate a small piece of Zucchini lasagna that I made with ground turkey, lentil beans, low fat Ricotta chz, low fat mozz chz, parm cheese, crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce. I made a big pan and froze it into little individual dishes and it was super yummy.
  • I like to take muffin tins, spray with Pam, put about 1/2 full of spinach (that has been rinsed, drained and dried), mushrooms on that, a pinch of low fat mozz. chz and then I mix egg beaters in a bowl with some skim milk and pour in each tin to the top. 350 about 17 min. When you insert a knife in middle and it comes out…

  • Good evening John, I have been on MFP since earlier this month and have had great results. Journaling my foods was hard for me to start, but a lot easier now. Good luck in your goals. You can add me as a friend if you like. Angela
  • The book Made To Crave by Lysa Terskey?? is an excellent book on emotional eating.
