January has been incredibly busy and really quite tough for me. Although my restart with 5:2 has been successful I am still treating February as my real 'restart' so here goes! I'm loving the support on this board and the return to 5:2, but will now be getting my f@t @rse back to activity. Yippee!

My husband makes amazing Indian food - it takes forever! - last night, however, it was all about the take out! I had tarka daal, tandoori roti (instead of naan - really yummy!), Saag balti and chicken bhuna. And you know when a takeaway is really disappointing? This wasn't!!!

I'm now sat down with a delicious pot of raspberry and echinacea tea. Just what the doctor ordered.

I'm so glad I came on here - I was just about to give in and give up on fd. It's been so cold here that I just felt like eating, so I knicked half a sandwich off the kiddies plate at lunchtime, then when I got home (thru the snow) I was so hungry I raided the fridge. I have eaten 4 slices of ham and a third of an avacado.…

Yikes! Just read your posts, flumi, and realised I have done NO exercise today and am now out for a meeting until 9:30pm. Will get the stepper out when I get home.

Water - drink some water. Fizzy water is good. with ice and a slice. Or a nice herbal/fruit tea. If you really need something to eat choose something munchie to keep your hands busy. I love sugar snap peas and carrot sticks, cut up in a cute little pot. You CAN do this, Mallow, you CAN! (And if you really can't, just go to…

OK, I have to ask finally as I still can't work it out... What's TDEE??

"one day away from pudding" Haha! That's so true! God I love 5:2!

Hehe!

Hello! I've been on MFP for some time now, but have only just started using the boards. I love this one because it's fellow-fasters and because everyone is so normal!! I look forward to chatting with you!
-
Hi Luminousblue, you can add me if you like - lost on 5:2 before, same as you, then lapsed.
-
Mine was lovely alcohol too, it just made for a BAD me!!
-
A half a glass f wine extra would have no effect on me because of my usual intake, so it would really depend on what's normal for you as to whether it could have been the wine making you feel so cr@ppy. Hope you feel better soon!

Inspirational. Simply inspirational. You look fantastic! But the photos are just a footnote - the internal strength now teamed with the lifestyle changes must be so freeing. - thank you so much for sharing.

I have a busy work and volunteer week ahead so have changed my fast days around. Doing Mon/Thurs instead of usual Tues/Thurs. I had a great first week back on the programme and kept active and healthy on my nfd too - one BAD alcohol night, but that's better than the usual 3 or 4! Looking forward to the coming week,…

I love these - thank you so much. I'm now off to take my before pictures!
-
Amazing - thank you all for the inspiration. I am just going to go and take my 'before picture...

I have occasionally done 4:3 but it doesn't really suit me. I will keep 4:3 now for after holidays/Christmas etc. I tend to fast your other days - Tuesday/Thursday but next week I think I'm going for a Monday.

My daughter was reading over my shoulder and she said the dog looked far too small to need to lose weight, or was it just a really tiny bench!!
-
Fasting day - I aim to not have any a lories at all from bedtime the night before until dinner (6pm) but tend to have a cup of black tea for b/fast then an so cube at 2pm ish. Dinner will be a homemade soup/broth or veg stir fry. And that's it. 200-300cals.

I lost almost a stone and a half last year without loggin on non fast days. However, I lost my mojo and my sense of proportion (and portion size!) so I'm logging all days again, but certainly not obsessing. I work on 200-300 on a fast day (as my lifelstyle is quite sedentary) and 1700-1800 on a non-fast day (NB: Non fast…

I have been lurking on this thread, just enjoying reading all the positive messages. Thank you all. What I find incredible is all the similarities we have. Reading other people say things like 'bury myself in food' or 'drown myself in milkshake' (for me wine, not milkshake but hey ho!) is so useful. As I've said a couple…

I do back-to-back occasionally if that's the best way to fit it into a week, but I couldn't do that permanently. That's what so great about this way of eating - you fit it to you!
-
First full week of 5:2 for ages - 2nd fast day done. - Weighed myself this morning (after a bit of wii fit and a wee!) and I'm 4lbs down!!!
-
Hi Jim, You can add me if you like! Jo

Hi Mallow and welcome. I've only just joined this group and it is really open, honest and supportive. There are so many people on here who are succeeding with 5:2. Stick around and you'll do great!
-
My day has gone as planned. Just sitting down to my soup now after an hour on the wii. I'll have a slob on the sofa now for a bit, then early to bed with a herbal tea...what a hectic evening (not)!
-
Wow, Geoff!
-
Emma - can't wait for this to happen! I know I will get to that stage too. My friend is already there and now fasts 6:1, but after a holiday or Christmas does 5:2 for a bit to get back to her healthy weight. - Roll on next year when I will be heading that way too!
-
Hi everyone, It was my first proper fast day since about October yesterday and I nailed it! No problem! I'd forgotten how much I love it - what a great way to kick start my 'healthy me' regime. - Have a great week everyone.
