Lmao! Same exact thing happen to me. Made it 10 feet then just turn around and head for the car. Did pull out my blades and salvaged a bit of the day. But didn't run.

I hate to say it, but you body will let you know when to rest. I usually plan two rest days per week. One is always after the long weekend run.

Nothing! If you do enough, you'll find that group that's always running up on your shoulders at the last mile or just in front of you. I try to catch them every time. That's how you get PR's. Win/Win :)

Visit your local 5k/10k on the weekends. Don't everyone is drinking beer after, so its easy to talk to new people. You'll be surprise at the amount of active people who turn up.
