Hi all- Sorry I didn't post this yesterday. I walked out the door with the kiddo at 7am (that was brutal) and didn't get home until after 11pm. It was a very long and very fun, busy day. Anyway...a big congrats to everyone. This support here seems to be working really well judging by the results! Sw: 184.2 Week1: 181.3…

I would love to record my weight everyday because I am a crazy person that way. But what is stopping me is just what people have mentioned here - I don't want my feed to show the same .5-1 lb loss over and over. It would be a nice feature if we could record weights for our own use and select the ones that go into the feed.…

@zanne54 - it sounds like you have such a great attitude and are kicking some serious butt! Keep at it and you will do great in that 5k. I used to play those run to the next tree" games with myself, too. They work! To all the new c25k people: you will also love how much being in a pack of people can keep you going. The…

I would log your walks to work as exercise, just be sure to try and be accurate on your pace. A slow, leisurely stroll is going to be far different than walking at 4 mph. If you climb your stairs once or twice a day, I probably wouldn't log that. Now, if you go up and down & up and down until your heart is racing, then I'd…

Congrats to the c25k folks who are progressing! That is awesome - keep at it. I think I passed a point in the last month where I am officially a running addict. I am going to work on my speed now. Keep going and we'll enjoy a good addiction together!

Good topic! I think this may be the final year I can get away with Santa - if we even make it. :( Other than that, I want to rock a pencil skirt!
-
Add away and congrats on the weight loss so far! Let's rock this!

Welcome! These boards are great if you ever have questions. I'm pretty new myself and am liking it here a lot. -Jen

I just peeked at your diary and I would say you are definitely not eating enough. Other than one day, you were pretty low on calories - and you are breastfeeding! Eat more, girl! (Pot, kettle, black....I know. I'm working on it)
-
I am still struggling with eating as much as I need to. I have been convinced by the science on these forums and have read many diaries of people who are smaller than me, eating more than me and losing weight. I was in a "1200 a day" mindset for so long that many days I have to force myself to eat more. It seems like every…

This is very well said. This type of straight-forward, no nonsense reply is the best of what these forums have to offer. I, too, know what it is like to use excuses for not succeeding and stress eating. I am in the "not giving up" mentality and when I have a weak moment, I am going to go back and read the response above.…

Nice distance! I hope to get there some day. Congrats!
-
Good for you! That is such a hard thing to do and you should be very proud of yourself. Stuff like that is what has derailed me in the past and you just help my mindset about why we shouldn't do that. See you next week!

Rage for sure! Rob zombie also...

I love to run to P!nk, too. She's a badass. I have quite the variety: Eminem, Stones (Paint it, black is great!), Beyoncé, Alex Cross, GnR and, of course, Blurred Lines. :)

Mommamia: if you are getting shin splints that painful, you may have the wrong shoes. I had horrible shin splints in the beginning and then caved and paid the $100+ for shoes that are made for the way I run. Totally worth going to a local running store. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and go at it again! You've made it…

I am new to MFP, so I'm sure that others can help better, but to those who gained - don't get discouraged and quit! I have spent the last 5 years starting and stopping various things to lose weight and at the first sign of things not going perfectly, I quit. In addition, I now know that I have been under-eating…

Another girl who watches The League?! Hello, new BFF. Lolz. I'll take Pete, please. :)

HUGE congrats to everyone so far! I love this group! Sw: 184.2 CW: 181.3 Lost 2.9 lbs! Off to do cartwheels now...

I don't know my work schedule that far out yet - I may have to teach that day. I will let you know if I can. I'm running the Panerathon this Sunday in Mason if you have a last-minute interest.
-
Check in: 2.25 miles solo, then met up with a running buddy to do 2 more miles. It was a great start to the day. Happy Friday everyone! :)
-
Sounds like you are doing great! Keep at it and you'll be fine in that 5K! -Jen
-
Absolutely this. Stopped my shin splints completely.

I haven't been able to eat fast food in a very long time without getting sick. Chipotle seems to be the only exception. The nice thing is that it doesn't smell good, taste good or appeal to me any longer.
-
No running today - it is my day of rest. And quite rainy here in the Queen City, so good timing! Just signed up last minute for a 5K on Sunday. Thought I'd get one more in this year since I need a new running T-shirt. :)
-
Going to the running store and getting fitted for the proper shoes totally eliminated the terrible shin splints I got. Yes, they were expensive, but totally worth it. I agree about not eating much before. And don't stretch cold muscles - stretch after. Keep on truckin'!

This.

Hi everyone who I haven't talked with yet - let's all kick *kitten* on this challenge. Anyone who needs support can add me. I'm here and logging every day and have already gotten much support. Good luck everyone! -Jen

Love my wine, love IPAs and other craft beers and love, love bourbon. I am working it into my calories, like for last night's football game. But I am going to try to limit it to two days/week, like many of you have said. I do want to cut back on the habit of relaxing with a drink after the house gets all quiet at night. So…
