  • Don't give up, I had the same feeling few weeks ago and someone from MFP said we didn't get fat over night so it is going to take time to lose them. She is right, it is going to take time, I am losing, but very slowly. I'm still struggling to stay within my calories limit, I'm hungry all the time, not just nibble, but…
  • I don't eat much carbs in the evening (I'll have rice, pasta and potato for lunch). I will have a small amount of carbs after my run but it will only be small portion.
  • White rice is not bad for you, look at the Chinese and Japanese, rice is their stable diet and they are longest living nations and not many of them are overweight. Everything in moderation is the key!
  • I started MFP on 09/04 and today I reached my first 10 lbs loss !!! I like MFP because I am more aware of portion control and how calorific some foods are, instead of avoiding those food I just simply eat less of them. Also this is free!
  • Just told my other half to pull his act together as I can't cope living with him anymore... Must be something in the air???
  • I saw this link from a running magazine and had a look, the closest run is in Bristol for me and that's about 25 miles away...

  • Just got a pair of Saloman from Go Outdoor for £75. They have several brands and also a treatmill so you can try it properly.
  • Try Lloyds Pharmacy, I bought mine for about £12.99 and it does what I need it to do. Cheap and cheerful.
  • Mind is open to everyone, feel free to add!
  • Hi Emilit, Only if I have a body like you!
  • Hi asidebottom, Thanks and I love my cats, they are my world! I'm eating my exercise calories, I'm not very good with straving myself, my brain literally stop working when I am hungry.
  • I'm, 32, 5'3 and weight 149 lbs. My TDEE is around 2200 and my BMR is around 1450.
  • Thanks rosied, glad to know I am on the right track. My boyfriend kept saying I'm still eating too much, specially fruit. He was (when he was younger and fitter) member of England Karate team and studied sport and fitness (not exactly know what he studied at uni), he said I just need to stop eating, but I explained that I…
  • Thanks Raven, my cats are my world! :-) I stopped tracking sugar because by having semi skimmed milk, 1 kiwi, 1 orange and 1 nectrine a day will push my sugar level way over! As for the exercise, I am doing the DVD in bad weather and jogging/walking in sunny days.
  • Why don't you try Warburton Wholemeal 400g loaf? It's only 55 cal per slice. It isn't that much smaller than other bead. Buy the 800g loaf for your family as they are not counting cal and you keep your little loaf all for yourself?

  • Well done on getting rid of all bad habit!!! I've stopped smoking at the end of Feb this year (been a smoking for 16 years), and decided to lose the weight since April. It's a slow progress as I am hungry all the time! I'm not too bad at weekend when I am at home, but I turn into a food monster when I'm at work. I snack on…
  • I do use the HRM as well as a pedometer, I had to adjust the min on MFP to get the correct calories. I'm eating quite a bit of protein too, I love meat and I can eat a whole cow if you let me!
  • Currently 148lbs, GW 125lbs.
  • Hi, I'm from Somerset, feel free to add!

  • Hi Aperture, I read the book by Anna Richardson, those are the "rules" that she suggested. I'm not keen on dairy, so the milk allowance is purely for my breakfast and tea. It doesn't bother me if I don't touch cheese ever again. As for the wheat and sugar, I used to get most of these from junk food, i.e. cake, biscuit and…
  • Thanks for all the reponse, didn't expect it to be this quick! :-) Hi Bigbugboo, I've been to fat2fitradio.com to check my BMR, it should be 2184 for Moderately Active, does this mean I need to eat this much + the exercise cal that I burnt? Hi Ravenesque, I'm drinking lots of water, about 5 pints + 1 cup of tea while I'm…
  • Cook it with vegetable stock, the cooking instruction should be on the packet. I always use 1 part of quinoa with 5 parts of water and half a veg stock cube. Cook it for about 15 on medium heat then turn to low heat to cook until all liquid is gone. Stir it occaionally to stop it from sticking to pan. It's really nice if…
