I like Mission salsa. Straight up ingredients and not bad on the salt/ sugar for pre-made. At my Safeway its smack in the middle of the chip isle. It runs on the spicy side, so if don't like spice get mild. I like medium. I also shop at the local Co-op and just bought Drew's, which is good in that area too for salsa.…

You can glance at my food diary for yummy (and often healthy) fats. I usually go over on those :P.

I know a lot of people that are fans of P90X, and it seems to work for them. I only go to classes for those things myself, because I'm worried about doing it wrong and injuring myself.

My Dad's wife called me obese. Which I was close to, but not quite there (off by maybe 5 lbs.). This actually just made me really insecure for a while, but I didn't do anything about it. I was too depressed already by a series of events in my personal life. Then in the summer I saw a terrible picture of me jumping into a…

Psychetruth is a youtube channel with lots of great info for questions like this! I see some people have said the things contained in the video, but you may still find it helpful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zyqyXTQhiw Cheers!:drinker:

Garlic and sea salt is great for them! Or, nix the salt and use some soy sauce (with which you can add sesame seeds). I do this a lot for broccoli and brussel sprouts (which I steam or saute). Avocado is a fruit... but quite a delicious one! I like this in egg sandwiches. Often I put it with a bit of cream cheese on sesame…

Bump. (Lots of good info here!) I love orange juice, but I'm starting to think maybe I need to nix it a little (not everyday) for fresh oranges... I dono. :grumble:

Thanks you two!

Pat's or Geno's?

that's really healthy! I wish that's what I accidentally eat a whole ton of. :ohwell:

bag of ritz cheddar crispy chips!!! every time... mmmm... I'm not going to buy them until I reach my goal! I really can't stop with them, I'm sure in part because they aren't really filling

Wow, what a transformation! Congrats!

You can add me and stalk mine! But, I warn you, I'm not sure that I'm so good at it yet! For instance, I got a sandwhich from a local cafe today, and putting it in was tedious and I'm not sure how accurate I got. I'm trying though!

me too! ^_^

Thanks, that helps! I don't think everything on here is exact anyway, but that'll be helpful for at least getting close! :)

Thanks! It's been really tough, but I think (and hope) that as I lose the weight I will improve... and also the reverse that it will help me lose weight.

Psychetruth - a great youtube channel! - actually talks about snickers bars in relation to macronutrients. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zyqyXTQhiw

I think that it is really easy to do yoga wrong, and that beginners should always start in classes. I understand the strong desire to workout from home, but untrained you could accidentally cause an injury.

I either wear shorts and apply heel lube (basically vaseline with some extra stuff), or I wear pants with synthetic materials - the kind meant for cooling. They hold up far better than cotton. They can be more expensive, but I got two really nice pairs of pants at Ross. I'm late to the thread, but hope I helped!

Thank you to everyone for your replies! At the end of my second day here this is really helping to keep me motivated. And all of your advice is spectacular! I've sent all of you friend requests. :)

Hi! I'm also 5'8'', and my goal is 160 :). I am learning a lot so far. I think something that has been helping me (we'll see how it pans out in the long-run) is any time I want to eat I reach for a fruit or vegetable first or I at least eat one with what I'm craving. Let me know if you have any advice too!

I'm a graduate student, and am trying to reverse the effects of this sedentary life! I sent you a request :)

Hi Tyler! I grew up in good ol' Harrisburg :). Doing this for your family is such a great reason! I just started as well, so I feel your trepidation. We can do it!
