  • I was doing 6x 60 minute yoga sessions, eating at TDEE (based around 6 workouts) and losing about 0.2lb a week, so TDEE is clearly slightly under for me. I switched over to lifting 3 days and dropped to 3 days of yoga. The first two weeks I had to eat at TDEE +500 because I was so hungry I could have chewed off my own arm.…
  • Okay, objectives (in order) are: 1. Build LBM (I'm eating at TDEE +300 at the moment) 2. Increase 'normal' (as is every day life) strength - I didn't have any owing to bed rest and now I can lift baby/do housework with ease so I'm getting there on this one 3. Improve the look of my butt, it was completely flat and I'm…
  • I had this. After much medical investigation and many doctors it was discovered I was sodium deficient. With the addition of plenty of salt into my diet I immediately felt a bit better. It probably took 6 weeks of eating moderate/high sodium to get back to normal. If you avoid processed foods, don't add in much salt to…
  • I'm only 3 weeks into Stronglifts 5x5 and I'm tiny (5'1 and very narrow framed) so my weights don't look all that impressive right now! Squats - 60lb Bench - 40lb Barbell rows (with dumbbells, one arm at a time) - 30lb each side Overhead press - 30lb Deadlift - 80lb
  • We put everyone into neat little boxes of how they fit into our lives. We do it from the moment we meet people and we build a relationship based on what we feel we bring over the other person. When that other person either isn't what we first expected, or breaks out of the mold it can cause all sorts of negative feelings…
  • I'm eating at maintenance so TDEE based on 6 workouts per week, of which 3 Stronglifts and 3 Yoga. I'm glad I'm not the only one! I have been hungry every day (even non lifting days) so far! I hope it settles or I'm going to be a chunky monkey if I'm eating an extra 3500 calories a week as there is no way I can put on more…
  • I can be two-three dress sizes larger in the evening than the morning. My waist can increase by as much as 7 (25-32) inches. I feel your pain. Anyone who scoffs clearly hasn't lived with the misery and discomfort which comes with it and hasn't had to go to work in clothes two sizes too big just to feel remotely comfortable…
  • Wow Sarauk2sf - that is a huge amount of information on that link. Thanks. I don't think it's worth me filling out the questionnaire or your time reading it because I've shifted most of the weight, and I'm still losing despite eating at maintenance. I also log everything on Cron-o-meter rather than MFP because I have IBD,…
  • I've lost weight like this right from the word go. 250 calorie per day deficit and eating back exercise calories. I have, the whole way through, gone periods of time with no movement what-so-ever on the scale, then suddenly drop anything between 3 and 10lb over a few days. I don't think it's linked to 'starvation' or any…
  • Thanks, I'm going to try the TDEE method as I'd rather eat my 'average' calories daily. If I am aiming to loose only 10lb of weight whilst retaining as much lean mass as possible would I be better doing TDEE - 10, or even 5%?
