If you don't like 'em cold. Try putting a few of them in a pyrex container (with a lid) with a dampened sheet of kitchen towel. Microwave for 30 - 60 seconds and they'll be hot and steamy - like the ones you get in a Mexican restaurant (almost).

Not sure I understand. Why on a cheat day?? They're probably healthier than the flour tortillas.

I am actually starting to feel different! Which is cool! I'm also wondering how I'll feel when I've lost another 30 pounds.

It's not a grain, it's made of semolina -so it's similar to pasta, but it's texture when cooked is more like rice. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Couscous I like it a lot and it does cook up faster than rice. Not sure if it's healthier than rice but it makes a nice change.

There's no such thing as a "bad" time. Just completing a 5K makes you a winner in my book!
-
Congratulations!! It's ALL worth celebrating. Well done!
-
Thanks for all of the kind words! I'll just keep plugging away and stop worrying about moving the number on the scale.

I agree! You're doing really well - and taking it slow means you're more likely to keep the weight off. :flowerforyou:

Yeah, it's a myth. The only restriction that seems to make sense is "don't eat right before you go to bed if it gives you indigestion".

Cool! :drinker:

That's great!! :flowerforyou:

Posting link to a smaller version of the photo - hoping you'll be able to see my "fans" on the right of the picture.

Congratulations! It's a great feeling isn't it? Good luck with your next run!

Their "Savory Thin Mini Rice Crackers- Multiseed W/ Soy Sauce" . Very tasty little rice crackers. Almost taste meaty. Only 110 calories for 35 crackers (they're tiny). Salt content not too bad and zero cholesterol. I mix them with raw almonds and roasted sunflower seeds (without shells) to make a kind of trail mix. Which…

It sounds dumb, but we bought some smaller plates. If you limit yourself to one plateful of food, it works - and it kinda tricks you into thinking that you've got more food than you have. I also eat a lot of snacks during the day (nuts, celery, fruit) so that I'm not so hungry at dinner time.

Congratulations! Keep up the good work.

I'm getting ready to do my first 5K race. (I've run 5K + four times in the last week....) My advice would be : 1) Take it steady. There's no disgrace in repeating week if you need to. 2) Make sure you have good running shoes. 3) Try to walk a bit on your "off days" to keep from stiffening up, but don't push too hard. 4)…

Yeah, I got over it. I'm only running outside now. Probably won't use the treadmill again unless there's really WET weather (which is a distinct possibility here in Oregon).
-
Congratulations! Just a word of warning, though. It's a lot tougher off the treadmill. I found it quite demoralizing when I switched from training on the treadmill to running on the road. I almost gave up on the idea entirely. Glad that you had such a good run!

Having eaten both, I find it really weird that there's such a difference in the fiber. Are those figures from the containers?

I agree. I even read that it's a common habit of people who successfully lose weight and then keep it off. As you say Stephanie, it's about personal preference.

I'm an addict too. I weigh myself every morning. I only "officially" log my weight once a week (on Fridays). Unofficially, I record my weight on MFP every day as a "food note".

I started C25K back in April. My first race is on Tuesday. I'm 44 years old, 6'2" and around 245 lbs (still need to lose at least 35 pounds). I hope to run that 5K in 30 minutes. (Fastest so far in training has been 32:30). Good luck!

I know there are people out there that disagree with me, but I don't worry about sugar from fruit and veg. I try to eliminate refined sugar as much as possible but not the sugar that's naturally already in fresh fruit and vegetables. I eat LOTS of fruit, and I count the calories, but I ignore the sugar. In fact I switched…

I'd recommend lots of walking to start with. It helped me to increase my fitness without so much knee pain. Once I could walk 2 or 3 miles at a decent pace, without getting winded or sore, I started running. I'm still "a work in progress" but I'm running now and enjoying it. I wish you the best of luck!

I was completely new to running when I started about two months ago. I had some problems completing some of the early runs - especially when I switched from the treadmill to running outside. I was dreading Week 5. I was convinced that I would't be able to manage the 8 minute runs, never mind the 20 minute run. When it came…
