  • Good luck to both of you. Ive just started on Week 8. Never ran longer than 30 seconds before I started the programme and can now run for 30 minutes straight. Can only manage 4k in 30 minutes but will work on increasing my speed in the next few months.
  • I so know what you mean! I had been building myself up to take the plunge since I started losing weight at the end of last summer.   • W5D3 completed! Once I got past 10 minutes I found it quite easy! Cant wait for W6....
  • I was the same 5 weeks ago.! I started the C25K and havnt looked back.....I am now addicted! I have mild asthma but can now run for 20minutes without stopping whereas 5 wks ago I couldnt run 1 minute without having to stop..... Perhaps take a look at the C25K programme or similar?

  • I am on week 5 this week, just tried running on my day off in-between sessions and ran 20minutes straight. 4wks ago I struggled to run more than 1 minute so it is certainly possible for you to reach 5k in 3months. Good luck :)

  • I've just completed W3D1 and loved it. 3 weeks ago I couldnt run 10 seconds without stopping. Ive learnt not to worry what I look like when running and I dont need to keep up with anyone! Feel free to add me as a friend if you like. I log every day and have an open diary :)

  • Thanks for the advice on speed, i slowed my pace down today for day2 and it felt better for me. Just have to try and remember that it doesnt matter what I look like to others whilst im running on the treadmill!! And I dont need to keep up with them!

  • If i go out and have a few drinks I log as many of them I can remember drinking!! I then forget about it and start anew the next day...
  • Im away on a girlie weekend today till Sunday so will not be exercising for 3 days. Will try and track my calories and update each day but I know I will be way over my allowance. Will be back on it on Monday.
  • Have done an hour this morning in the gym and its even MY BIRTHDAY!! Have jumped back into it after a party last saturday where I went way over my calories. Going to keep to 1200 each day along with an hour gym session as Im away for the weekend on a girlie trip!!

  • Ive done an hour in the gym this morning and am doing the same later when my daughter is home from school. She wont go on her own so im going again with her! Have a party tomorrow night so will have some extra calories banked ready for the alcohol....
  • Ive joined the group and would be happy to lose anything in those 4 mths. I shall not be popping pills, drinking shakes or even starving myself..... Everyone has their own opinion, if they dont like the sound of a group then theydont have to join it.
  • Thanks for the advice. On reaading through different posts I hear this a lot, I am going to start eating a few hundred extra calories a day from my exercise bank and see how I go. I dont want to do this as a quick fix and then give up so im quite happy to learn to go steady and keep it off at the end!! Cheers.
