Dave, You articulated it perfectly. that is how I am doing it. I like what you said (and what Kar said) about it being a personal choice. I would have a lower goal and "feel" what I did rather than looking at the fitbit and going "wow.. that is a lot. Thanks for weighing it.. it had been on my mind! :drinker:

@hkristine1 Hooray that is great news - Really liked how you were very open to suggestions. You must feel GREAT about it! :flowerforyou: :drinker:

I actually "docked" myself miles today. I am not going to just count the distance on my fitbit. I am only going to count "intentional" miles. It is definitely going to be a challenge to make my goal. i just need to really pay attention to my runkeeper app, the elliptical distance, and stationary bike. It is a personal…

@Kar328 - You have "influenced me" I have been using a fitbit, but have been counting "all" miles and I realize that is not necessarily "right" in my book. From now on I am only going to count "intentional" miles: running, walking, stationary bike and not "incidental" miles. (I do a step challenge on fitbit) - Thanks so…

@sunofa - That is wise advice. Btw good comment in the post about overweight people.

@ChefSteve - Thanks Man! You are doing it right too!

@nutmeg - That is what happened to me - I had too many "I don't give a crap " days. But I realize that i think I have enough data points too :flowerforyou: Thanks for your support!
-
@MR_Knight - Looks like we have an interesting difference of philosophies. First, let me congratulate you on your success. in the big picture we are both achieving our goals. However... I am still "slow and steady" but hopefully a bit steadier and not as slow LOL. Good insight in your post thanks!

@all - I love reading these stories I have only lost 14 lbs but already I had my cholesterol checked recently and it was totally normal. I sleep through the night more often than not. I will run up two flights of stairs and not think about it. I was able to run 4.0 miles straight without stopping yesterday. I am feeling…

@Bergpa I sure will. That does sound really good by the way! :drinker:

I finally just finished 4 months of logging, but i didn't log in every day so I lost my streak. I will be honest.. the number "drives" me. Also to be honest it shows my MFP friends that I am committed. Most important - I have realized that logging calories is a part of my life now.
-
@bergpa - That is actually a good observation. I actually have done the calories consumed on an weekly and monthly basis and found I was between 2600-2700 per day all 4 months. I am trying to slowly adjust to average an intake of 2400-2500 per day with the same amount of exercise. I eat back 40%-60% of my exercise…

@whovian Thanks Chief! :smile:

@DR2501 ^^this - Exactly It is sad when I see people who have transformed themselves into a fitter, healthier, more confident version of themselves and they still carry the baggage of resenting how they were treated. As I get lighter and fitter I really feel like people are nicer to me because I have confidence and I am…

Ask a guy in Massachusetts to say "Worchester" or "Peabody" - Classic! People in NC pronounce Haiti as "Hay (pause) Teee"!

Let's get this party started!:drinker: 2.0 miles walking on incline treadmill. 2.0 miles total - Goal 124

You have come to the right place. The fact that you posted is the first step. Another poster mentioned that just taking a several small walks a day can really help. Just the fact that you are doing something will make life better. you don't have to lose the weight "fast". this isn't the "biggest loser" here. But if you…

I have to admit that I like it. The best way for people to get to know each other here is by the small comments here and there as well as the "likes". I always play with my news feed settings so that I only post bigger things. I try to be a "supportive" friend here.

Hi I am upping it to 124 this month. Will get miles from fitbit + stationary bike + elliptical (Note that when I am on the stat bike or elliptical I let the fitbit sit dormant so I don't "double dip" )
-
Thank You to everyone who helps with this challenge Did some extra walking today - Definitely upping my goal next month Final Total 168.6 / goal 100 [/quote]

Thanks for the challenge! I did 19 runs. Yesterday I did a great 5K myself. Then I got "greedy" and tried to run more in the afternoon and I pulled a muscle in my back (lessons learned). I am going to have to give running a rest for a while so I won't be able to do the challenge next month. Good luck to everyone ( I will…
