Outstanding Post As Always. Definitely love the data and the real and predictable results. I hope that when I have 4 months of data I will be able to tell a similar. When I saw CICO I could not help thinking FIFO or GIGO! :drinker:
-
@oregonzoo - You are right.. it is the "ultimate" "me time"! :drinker:
-
This is so great that there are more exercise fans than people who see it as a "burden"
-
@sarauk - And You help others here! Cheers! :drinker:

Getting started is hard but.... The more I do it ... the more I love it!   http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1362184-it-s-mfp-and-the-f-is-awesome

I agree with @Kruggeri. I love the fact that there are people here who are realistic and are in in for the "Long Term Lifestyle"! I am losing 2-3 lbs per month and I have about 40-50 lbs to lose. That puts me at about 18 months before I hit my long term goal. Yeah it is 18 months away, but I am exercising, getting…

I am hoping that you will stay here on MFP, swallow the "bitter pill" of some of these frank, candid, and accurate responses and have a rockin' success story in a few months about how you are losing weight gradually, have more energy for your kids, etc. etc. etc. I didn't start improving (and I have a long way to go…
-
@rogue Great realistic attitude. I started and stopped with MFP. I even went AWOL a while (very sorry about that). I am finally just starting to try to get my "act" together, but it is a "day by day" thing. Last year I hurt my ankle so I couldn't walk for a while. I started doing a lot of Stationary bike and kettlebells -…

@nutmegero - On the contrary - Kitten Gifs are very important. This is MFP after all LOL :drinker: :flowerforyou:

^^This What @Guitar Jerry wrote I used to think otherwise, but reading on the forums I finally got it through my head that HRMs are only good for steady state cardio like walking on incline up treadmill, elliptical, stair stepper, running at constant pace. Most people have advised me to pick a low number and live with…
-
@nutmegero - You are too kind - Now this thread is complete as it has {{dramatic music}} a kitten gif! :drinker:

Good Post OP I grew up thin and have been about 40-50 lbs overweight most of my adult life. I am finally doing something about it for good and it will take me about 18 months to get to where I want to be. As I am getting more fit (notice I didn't say lose weight) I notice the following: 1. I can move easier. 2. I like to…

@Chef - Love the quote - Sending an FR
-
@RebeccaP - Yes - Hooray for the "F" And I am so happy that there are others that get incensed about the lose/loose thing. There are standards! :drinker:
-
@lemur - The data points thing is right on. I have an MFP friend and he posts the coolest graphs and they really show that "slow and steady" works and that being consistent is the key no matter what the scale says. It is the long term "process" vs. the "quick results" Great Job!
-
@Stacy - That was like when I used to do an exercise class back in the nineties. About 8 of us would hang out and we all became friends. What is great about fitness friends is that they don't care about how much money you make, The house you have, the car you drive.. just the common goals of just trying to get more fit!
-
@knitapeace - I feel like a "prospector" mining all these gems and nuggets of awesome quotes - Well put! Yes - and I understand that you will "be here the whole week" ---**tips waitress on way out**
-
The OP is going to make it! You GO OP! (No I did not write "You Goop" )
-
@kimberly - Oh.. I have to bite my tongue because I want to yell at the world how much I dig my fitbit... but then i don't want to hang out in a straightjacket  Carry On!
-
@lemurcat12 - That is right on - sloth-induced amnesia - It is like before I knew in "abstract" that exercise was good.. but I would polish off a whole pizza and chow on some oreos thinking 'Oh, I am too tired to workout.. ". It is that mental game!
