@ciege Thanks! I'd heard that so I'm going to re-evaluate once I get down far enough....I calculate my BMR once in a while anyway just to make sure but so far it's stayed in a similar range from when I started :)

I actually just posted something relevant: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/282950-i-ve-lost-10-lbs-and-i-eat-whatever

I used to get really confused about the eating-back-calories thing so I've simplified it a bit... I know now that I burn between 2300-2700 calories a day, depending on my activity level (I keep track of it with a fitbit, which is basically a fancy pedometer hehehe). Knowing this, I know how many calories I can eat to…

Definitely! It means I won't "go off a diet" and then gain all this weight back ;D

I wanna cry just reading this :'D GRRREAAAAAT JOB!!!!!!!!

Genius ;D Much better and more succinct than the way I said it :D

I hear you! I try to follow the following philosophy: I don't WANT to waste food. I should only buy/prepare what I know I can eat. I will inevitably sometimes buy/ prepare too much. Sometimes it won't keep. I have just wasted time/money. I refuse to compound this waste by adding unneeded food to my body. We don't LIKE to…

also, since your body is possibly in starvation-mode and sucking in everything it can, don't be surprised if you go up a little when you up your calories. But if you keep it up you'll soon start losing again :)

The guys on fat2fit always say 1200 is not a good caloric intake for anyone above 95 lbs ;) It seems to be a cultural thing to eat 1200 calories to lose weight, it's what most calorie apps, etc recommend, but it's not healthy for most people. I use MFP to track my foods when I need to (I've been doing it long enough now…

I can't be 100% sure, but you might want to check that you are eating enough. I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but if you eat too far under your calorie needs for the day, your body might start plateauing if it things it's starving - it tries to conserve resources. If you want more info on this, I highly recommend…

I don't think it's going to affect your weight, but I could be wrong? As far as I know, the weight doesn't immediately go on and anyway you'd have to eat 3500 calories OVER your maintenance amount to gain a lb. Also in my experience i pee everything out faster when I'm drinking so you should be lighter than ever, right???…

No regrets! Eat there maybe once a year and WORTH EVERY DISGUSTING CALORIE! red velvet cheesecake mmmmmm!

I have not yet had one day mess up my progress, not even one weekend (yeah I had a "Cheat weekend") My cheat days are about once a week and they are not grossly bad. I tend to go over by a bit due to indulging in an ice cream sundae or by just eating too much and not getting my exercise in or something. You need to go OVER…

You look great! I definitely look at you and think "I wanna look like that" You gotta love yourself no matter where on the journey you are, though. That's not something anyone can teach usually. It can be a daily effort of pushing down the negative thoughts and just enjoying being you! I wish you all the luck and…

Oh also, if you continue to listen to fat2fit (and it's backed up in everywhere else I've read about this), you'll hear them talk about the long term effects of starvation diets. One of their big goals is being fit AND getting to eat a lot. They advocate eating lots of healthy foods and still losing/ maintaining weight. If…

it's not sustainable and it's terrible for you in the long run. This was a good fat2fitradio.com episode on the topic of starvation diets: http://www.fat2fitradio.com/2011/02/fat-2-fit-118-the-evils-of-starvation-diets/

me too!

I log it as circuit training

I try not to beat myself up when it happens. So far it happens once every week or every other week but I keep in mind that I am trying to create a calorie deficit each day (-500 in my case) and so the extra calories aren't making me gain weight, just keeping me from losing as much weight as I could have that week. I try to…

I ate an entire pizza in one sitting followed by about 10 cookies...and still lost an inch on my waist. To be fair.... I've been very very good, eating super healthy, lots of veggies and fresh foods and walking 5 miles a day coupled with 30 day shred. I just had an emotional binge this weekend but it was nice to see it…

Do NOT give up on your dreams!

Yaknowww......it's sad to hear about and I hate when people do it but I find myself judging others by outward appearances and it makes one realize how terribly human we all are.
