  • martial arts is gone for the time being, ive taken up target shooting (pistol and shotgun) so being able to hold the hands nice and steady would be an added bonus. i will be doing deads and squats as well. going again tomorrow night to look at back and bi's will probably take a couple of weeks before i nut out a proper…
  • i wait 30s between sets. any heavier and i wouldnt be able to complete the set.
  • i was at the gym for about 45 - 50 minutes and all of those were 3x10. i wouldnt say "arms are important to me" infact, im mainly going for fat loss. i am doing c25k as well and i ride my bike to and from the gym for cardio. but everyone says that lifting is good for fat loss so why not.

  • i dont weigh anything. i estimate a lot. however, im also set to sedentary when im not, so it all evens out.
  • i like how you put this disclaimer under "nuts" but forgot about it for the 2 other items that you have suggested peanut butter on. most pre schools these days are nut free.
  • the actual translation of the word Gyros (or Yiros as it is spelt phonetically in adelaide) is to describe meat cooked on a vertical spit. the most common way to serve the meat is in a pita wrap with salad a garlic sauce (and chips if you are a cypriot). but the meal it self isnt actually a gyros. its just the way that the…
  • what would happen to cows, chickens, sheep etc if we didnt farm them for their resources? i think they would become extinct. we have no need for them, and when was the last time you saw a wild cow or chicken? also, in relation to sheep, i assume being a vegan also means that you wont use wool products. have you seen what…
  • this goes both ways also, dont go having a go at other people for eating meat in front of you etc. its this type of behavior that gives vegetarians and vegans a bad wrap.

  • i dont get the idea of running groups. i like running on my own. hell, i like doing all my workouts on my own. i have a house full of people and i like the solidarity of getting out there. hell, the other night at swimming on of the other swimmers asked how i was going, while i appreciated it (as she said she could see the…

  • got my $2.30 gloves today. stitching is a little loose on the strap of the right glove so i have emailed to see if they will send another pair, but if not its an easy fix. still, for 2 bucks, you cant really complain.
  • aint nobody got time for that. (if you've seen my legs, which you havent, then you would understand)
  • i got cramps the first time i went swimming, but after that i was fine. probably due to it being something i hadnt done before.
  • not at this stage, there arent that many running events that i know of around where i am. plus with 3 kids its hard to commit to something like that. plus even the running events they do have here, they are stupidly expensive.
  • Breath through your mouth :D another finisher of week 5 here. stupid GPS on my phone didnt work, so i plotted the run using runkeeper and worked that i managed 6.59min/km (11:22min/mile) so i was pretty happy with that. i figure the rest of the program shouldnt pose too much of an issue now. next week is intervals again…
  • put in 18km in 65 minutes today. this is my farthest ride by about 6km so was really struggling towards the end. plus a strong head wind on the way back didnt help the cause. man my *kitten* is sore too
  • i havent had too many scares myself, however, my sister was due to fly out of new york back to australia when 9/11 happened. i remember it clearly, i was watching the west wing when my housemate came out of his room and said "Someone has flown a plane into the world trade center" my first thought was "what an idiot" cos i…
  • i also did w5d2 last night. wasnt after biking but it was my kids birthday so had been doing a bit of running around due to that. the biggest thing for me tho was that it was raining. in the past i would have talked myself out of going because of that but this time i got out there and low and behold it wasnt that bad. pace…
  • so men dont love their kids huh? bull****. as a man i find that offensive. SOME men dont love their kids, so by exstrapolation, that must mean that all men are dogs and dont actually have any feelings. but when a WOMAN doesnt love her kids, then she is sick, its a "syndrome" and we must feel sorry for her. all men only do…
