  • i love peanut butter. I try to moderate it by having a tablespoon of it with an apple regularly. But, yes, there are times I want to eat the whole jar with a spoon. lol Sounds like a good plan to get rid of it. Trigger foods are evil things.
  • Peanut butter rocks! I love a cut up crunchy apple and a tbsp of peanutbutter to dunk it in. woohoo.
  • Or walk! I moved to a rural town with crappy public transportation and I don't drive. So, i'm forced to walk 45 mins to and from work, which is just the exercise motivation that I need. lol
  • yes, snack heaven! Pink Lady apples are also nice.
  • a cut up apple with a tbsp of peanut butter - crispy, sweet and a little bit salty. yum! I try to make sure i have calories set aside to have it as an evening snack.
  • Savory things...salty and sweet like peanut butter and chocolate...chips, dips, cheese, good bread, pasta- basically salty or carb-y things (which is probably why I have to be on a low sodium diet for hypertension).

  • You can use the recipie calculator above (thanks, i hadnt seen that before) or, what i do is enter the ingredients under the meal in the food diary, click remember meal and name it Once saved, delete the individual items and enter it under the meal name. This way you can put your serving in (if you eat a quarter of what…
  • I've been having nightly snacks of a cut-up apple with a tbsp of peanut butter. Its not too bad calorie-wise and very satisfying.
  • yes, we all have days like this. I just moved house over the past week and started a new job. While i didn't go crazy, i didn't log for almost a week. I just tried to make good choices without having to be quite as strict. I knew that it would be too much stress. I'll have to see how i did winging it when i weigh in on…
  • Stretching is awesome. Definately at the beginning to warm your body up and at the end to release any pent up tension from the exercise. Whether you do it in the middle i guess to depends on the exercise you are doing and how your body feels. I bellydance so there are times when I've been drilling some moves and I need to…
  • Thanks for posting this. The top one, unfortunately, has way too much sodium for me.
  • i think you have to ask yourself if you are hungry. If yes then eat something else. If not, then I would leave it. I work on this too. Sometimes its too much number crunching and you have to listen to your body.
  • Seriously, if i had to worry about counting a tiny spray of cooking spray i would lose my mind. I'm nerotic enough keeping track of calories, carbs, protein and sodium within a vegetarian plus seafood, wholegrain low sodium zone diet. Sometimes i don't bother counting lettuce in a sandwich either.

  • of course i will have to shout-out a third for bellydancing! Its so much fun - cardio and toning the midsection.
  • i love belly dancing. I take classes one a week (2 hours total) and practice and do dvds every other day. Its addictive but in a good way. Glad you enjoyed it. My theory of exercise is that it has to be fun and fit in with your life.
  • I started three weeks ago and I have lost 12 lbs. Yay me. I have lots and lots to go. My short-term goal is to drop another 19 by the time my mother visits in June. Thank the universe for bellydancing and daily walks. This site is also really awesome for keeping my food organized.
  • I find for me what works when i'm having massive carb cravings is to eat protein. It kind of short circuits the carb cycle for me. I tend to eat some grilled fish or canned tuna. Its satisfying the way empty carbs aren't.
  • No, I bought in a regular grocery stores (Woolworths and Franklins) in Australia. I think its domestically made.
  • I have hypertension, so i have to watch salt. You can buy a lot of reduced salt or no salt added tomato products in cans. There are also reduced salt or no salt added beans, if you don't have time to cook your own from dry. Also, watch out for sodium in bread. There is tons. I have switched to a low salt whole wheat bread…
  • I'm a big fan of Ariellah's Contemporary Belly Dance and Yoga Conditioning. She will drill you sore and sweaty! Also good value as it has three of her perfomances, 35 mins of yoga, 75 of belly dance technique and 40 mins of cheoreography. Don't worry though, you don't have to do it all each day (although good on you if you…
