  • I LOVE my oatmeal! I use 1/4 cup quick oats, 1/2 Almond Breeze Unsweeted Vanilla Almond Milk, 1 tsp brown sugar or Agave, 1/2 table spoon natural peanut butter! I microwave it for 1:30. I hope you like it!
  • I know, I was very disappointed in the actual burn too. I felt like I worked a whole lot harder than a measly 200 cals....and honestly its not even 200....its been more like 177-180...Have to remember its not always about the calorie burn. Especially when you are doing weights.
  • I'm 34, 5'3 , weight 118, my HRM says I burn about 200. I would put it as weight training because while your heart rate is elevated, its not a cardio class.
  • I agree more weights too. Its more about body composition at this point too, don't define your progress by a number.
  • My biggest advice is to just hang in there. The closer you get the harder it will be to get it off. More cardio, more fruits and veggies, more water. And don't by any means decrease your food intake. Move more instead.
  • I think you are miss reading something. Clif Bars only have 6 or 7 grams of fat in them.
  • YES! I made these twice last week! I added white chocolate chips to them and they are 72 cals with those. They are going to be my new go-to dessert! The recipe I made had 1 box spice cake & 2 cups pumpkin. Much healthier that way and just as good.
  • I don't count my everyday chores as exercise because I know that it is factored into my activity level under my settings, BUT heck yes I do count mopping my floors. I work up a crazy sweat AND when I got my HRM, I was curious if I could count it as exercise so I wore it while mopping. My HR was up in the fat burning zone!…
  • JIF Natural peanut butter is soooooooooo good!!!! Totally worth the xtra and way better for you.
  • I logged it under Circuit training before I got my HRM, but a word of advice it WAAAAAY over estimated my burn....MFP said I burned 250 but my HRM said 150 for Lv1 and 177 for Lv 2.
  • I think that's awesome they have that! Looks like your pediatrician might actually be trying to educate parents on nutrition. I am sorry but a McDonald's Happy Meal is not a meal, for anyone, let alone a child, juice should be very limited, ZERO sodas, and sweet treats maybe a couple of times a week. And yes you have to…
  • I have a binder with all of the things I have liked from the fitness magazines I get. Quotes, Pictures, articles, recipes, clothes I want.......I look at it when I am feeling stressed, unmotivated, depressed about the challenges that come along with a healthy lifestyle, when I feel like just throwing in the towel and…
  • I thought I was going to die the first few days too! Use your lightest weights and take breaks if you need to. After about 5 days you'll be doing a lot better. Don't give up!!!
  • Oh my gosh that was classic!!! Love it, I was dying laughing!!!
  • Add me!!! I am passionate about health & wellness, fitness and nutrition but definitely understand what its like to be overweight!!! I love to encourage and be encouraged by others, because we all know how hard this lifestyle can be!!!
  • YAY!!!! You can do it! This site is unlike any other! So positive and encouraging! Welcome!!!
  • I have a Polar FT4 HRM & MFP either vastly OVER estimates or vastly UNDER estimates calories burned....its never even close for me. The site can only estimate based on the average person's fitness level.
  • Could be a lot of things.....are you drinking enough water, B vitamin or iron deficiency, low blood sugar, low blood pressure. I have experienced this a lot over the years, I used to get really dizzy all the time. Now I drink tons of water, take a prenatal and a B12 supplement and I eat every 2-3 hours, and I never get…
  • I bought a container of this the other day.....I LOVED it, but my husband who drinks a different type of protein shake could barely get it down! haha! Now that being said......I avoid sweets altogether so, to be honest, chocolate flavored cardboard would probably taste good to me!
  • Haha! I am so glad you posted about Better N' Peanut Butter. I am a huge fan of peanut butter and was so looking forward to trying that product, I have heard so many good things about it! When you are on a diet there are some things that are worth the calories and some that just aren't. Peanut Butter and real ice cream are…
  • OH MY GOSH, I couldn't agree more!!!!!
  • Cutting out meat in your diet is not going to help you lose weight, it will make you healthier on the inside if you follow some guidelines and proper nutrition, and it will keep you from eating Burger King, but you have to be really careful about getting enough protein and vitamins from other sources. I have been a…
  • Stick with MFP guidelines, its as simple as that. Calories in calories out. You don't have to eat your exercise cals back or if you feel extra hungry that day then go on ahead. Its a very slow process, so stay focused and determined.
  • I could play Shake Senora by Pitbull over and over again for the entire hour I spend on the treadmill! I also really like Lighters by Bad meets Evil and The Show Goes on by Lupe Fiasco.
  • I have done it, still do it every now and then. For the best results you should do it every day. Its only 27 min total. That includes a few min of warm up and cool down. After a while you may even do two in one day. Its a fantastic workout.
  • HAHAHA!!! Its true! Just because we have law fat low cal choices doesn't mean they are any better for you. Actually they are filled with chemicals that makes us fat and sick. You are best to stick with a diet that is as close to the earth as possible, in turn will be naturally low in fat, calories, sodium, cholesterol,…
  • YAY YOU!!!!! Great job! You look so much happier and healthier! Like you feel better!
  • Maybe Circuit training?
  • I TOTALLY agree!
  • and I totally agree that MFP needs to do more notifications so you can follow comments and stuff.
